Let's look at WW2. The U.S.A. could not have been defeated. Even without any help. We could have sat back and used nuclear weapons. We were the only country that had them. It may have taken longer but the U.S. would have prevailed.
There was no possibility of "sitting back" and winning with nuclear weapons. For one thing, nobody could be certain there would BE any nuclear weapons, until fairly late in the war. For another, we would have had no means to deliver them to Japan without the Pacific islands taken, during 1944 and '45. There were no ICBMs, yet, our bombers didn't have the range... and given those three years without interruption, Japan's positions in the Pacific, in China and South Asia, would have been much stronger.
You don't seem to understand that the Atomic bomb development was based on work carried out by the UK. The UK also shared the Magnetron because America had no advanced radar system.
What a spurious claim! The American task forces did not have battleship support at Midway. If the Japanese had been more aggressive, even after the loss of four carriers, the Midway invasion could have succeeded and America may have even lost Enterprise and Hornet.

What happened to Yamamoto in less than a year?
We were eventually always going to outnumber the Japanese. What happened at Leyte Gulf?

If Patton and Macarthur were the supreme commander's the U.S. would have owned the Soviet Union.
