    brother, just looking at the osb on that floor , and it's joints, tells me your among the top 1% of framers in this country.......... as a carpenter of over 35 years, I'll take lessons from you any time... really nice work, my man!

    Rounded architecture is beautiful but such a pain to work on. Framed 2 houses recently and they both had 2 turret rooms with conical roofs. Glad I was the cut man both times and glad the foreman did the detailing on them.

    There was nothing I LOATHED more than framing in the winter or when it was cold, damp and windy. I would be soooooooo depressed just waking up because I knew very well I was going to be cold for the next 9 hours. Yes, even with the layers I was STILL cold.

      @framnerdan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no doubt cold is challenging. Having said that I am currently seeing non stop -20s in my future😳

    Got here after watching a Japanese roof construction video. Why does our construction process look so haphazard by comparison?

    • @framnerdan
      @framnerdan  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would have to TH-cam some of those roofs in order to comment. Thank you for watching

    Hi Dan great video and explanation, to get the 3/4 ply tp bend for the roof, did I hear just one cut thru the back of the ply so it would bend on the curvature of the roof?

    • @framnerdan
      @framnerdan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I never cut the backside. Just stood on it and fastened

      Wicked , i was curious i have never seen one . I'm in edmonton myself , i work with 1 other chief and two young fellas. No way i would be building 3 by myself ! But started in fort mc murray in the boom days . Love coming home and watching your videos . I would love to get a go pro myself .... quite something we do for a living . Do you work alone out of choice ? Some dicey models you build ! They look like fun ... lots of work though

    • @framnerdan

      I agree Bob. Since that video on how to frame a curved roof. My fix has been bandaids over the mics on the go pro. Added a second yesterday have to see if improves. I will Google wind screen.

    hi there do you have anything that can help me build an eyebrow dormer ?

    • @framnerdan
      @framnerdan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No Rora. I have done them. Think about using 1” plywood as rafters. If you draw one as best you can on a piece of 1” cut it when you feel happy. Then place that on the next piece of 1” and redraw expanding slightly. And so on. The fascia is tricky. Again try use 1”

    Could’ve easily made the cut with a circular saw just saying. Been doing this shit a long time
