The gc is the best body style and it the lightest. It like the not expensive lego piece every subaru build should have.
Paul Kasson yeah, my mate has a 2009 WRX with a bigger turbo and tune, and my 99 gc8 rexy chops him on the highway because by the time he hits boost I’m gone.

do it I bought an 04 2.5l rs best little car bougt it for $2500 aud and spen another $3500 on it cuz in aus you cant find a subie with out any problems hehe

Im from Australia so they r kinda cheap the go from 2k being stock and a few problems to around 5k

man, you would have heaps of grip with 235 all round on an almost stock sti engine in a gc8. looks like it would be a blast through the mountain roads

Wheel gap is nice. Not too much or little. Plus I like it a little higher, keeps the rally look. Getting my 95 WRX GC8 this week :) But I live in Japan and I’ll be taking her back with me when I move. So excited to own my second subie

Dude - hill climb will likely require a cage or at least a roll bar - but would be awesome. You should think about coming out to RallyX events in NORCAL. We have races in Sac and Santa Rosa. My gc8 wrx sti weighs as much as a gt86 with 300hp , Plus it redlines at 8200rpm they don't build cars like these anymore why the collectors want them . Very low km version 6 sti going for 2.5 million yen Japan atm
I just picked up a 93 impreza l wagon from my buddy. about 10 or so years ago we did a full legacy gtb twin turbo swap in it. but he wanted to keep thats drive train so were swapping in an n/a ej204d and im gonna put a m90 supercharger on it

Nice car, I've owned a few genuine JDM (right hand drive) gc8s. EJ205 99 WRX, EJ207 99 STI, and now a EJ20k 97 STI type ra V-limited in Factory navy blue (one of 555) Good cars for the money. Can make a good 350hp with just bolt ons. I'd watch out for the USDM EJ205 though there internals aren't as beefy as the 20k and 207.
My v5 with a 5 speed tho has the same kinda clutch feel. I say the same thing it's a newer clutch but damn it grabs far

I used to have a 93 Impreza L as well! Did the rs bumper conversation. Wrx seats front and back. Had a gd dash I was gonna swap but ended up selling the entire car. I regret gettin rid of it.

I mean it’ll feel like you’re hurting the clutch but in a sense (my opinion) the launch is smoother and easier on your drivetrain.
