Great video! We just found your channel. We were at Fort Wilderness in August 1998 with our 3 kids in the Coleman pop-up. It was a great week. Your podcast reminded us how wonderful it was. We may try to schedule a holiday visit in the coming years. I appreciate your tips and info!
We’ve been staying there for years, the time between Thanksgiving and the second week of December used to be classified pre Holliday and was 69 for where you are around Wagon Wheel and 79 for premium, now same sites 215-250 plus tax. We now stay only a night or two not the whole week like we used to.
Basically, if you have a big 40 foot rv, don't get preferred loops. If you want a premium loop with easy back in and lots of space loop 500 is great. Also, when it comes to sites, the full hookup cheapest prices are in September. This past year we stayed during September 11 week for only $89 a night for a full week using a discount. It would have been $105 without the discount. I would never stay during holidays unless you're willing to pay over $200 a night.
Than You guys for the info....Wife and I are heading there from Central Ca. on the 17th of Jan. Doing a 14 day stay. Looking forward to all the places you talked about. Hope you have continued safe travels.
Hello, what was the name of the restaurant you ate at in The Contemporary? You stated you did Drinks Hor’derves at the Wilderness lodge and then took a boat to The Contemporary for dinner and what to know which restaurant. Was it a buffet?
We stayed in the 200 loop and paid about $130 a night but not during a holiday. Fort Wilderness is a favorite of ours. Our most expensive site was in Pennsylvania.... even more expensive then when we camped in the keys.
Patty , I like the same foods as you ❤Always a tough decision . I enjoyed my stay at fort wilderness during the holidays seeing all of the campers decorations. It is definitely a favorite on my list.
I have been here 5 nights and I do love it but had my outside rug and a Coleman water dispenser stolen off my site. I guess this is common so watch your stuff.
Looking forward to our 14-22 Jan Ft Wilderness stay- preferred loop 100. Post holiday prices are much better- $124-$175 over our 8 day stay. Disappointed E-Bikes using battery operating mode are banned. Thanks for the most excellent review. Like the podcast format with the videos added for illustration.
There’s no fire pits in the whole campground. You can bring a fire ring but it has to be fully enclosed and have a cover. We paid about $70 per day for a golf cart
By the way, scooters were banned first because of inconsiderate children and adults. Then ebikes were banned because of people riding ebikes in the sidewalks at full speed. By the way, dog fee for campsites is $5 a day for unlimited amount of dogs. It's not per dog.
Wow, Disney is way over rated and priced. Seems to me they only want $$$ instead of an average family. Same with their parks, pricing average families right out. 😢
If you love camping this is an amazing place. You can't describe it. I would never pay over $150 for this place but I've never paid close to that. Also usually we never do the parks and haven't done the parks in over 8 years. Like everything else, prices go up depending on when you go. Other private campgrounds charge the same for same amenities. You also get perks like being able to access Disney transportation to dozens of places to eat and visit. Could you get a cheaper campground? Sure, go to a state park. Have fun trying to book it under 1 year. Like everything else, don't like it then don't pay.

We stayed there in 1976 in our Apache pop up camper!

The prices have really gone up over the years for sure

Where in Pennsylvania was more expensive than the keys?
Jellystone near Lancaster and Eagles Peak in Wernersville have pricing policies that are variable depending on demand..@@TRAVELSWITHDELANEYTHEPODCAST

It really is a special place for most people. We love it there.
Another benefit because it is a WDW on-site property, you can take advantage of early entry days if you are visiting the parks!
We have been there in 2022 and 2023. Only the Cabins @ Fort Wilderness get early access. 😞
I have been here 5 nights and I do love it but had my outside rug and a Coleman water dispenser stolen off my site. I guess this is common so watch your stuff.
There are no dump stations in the tent / pop up sites. If they have a full hookup available when you check out they will allow you to use it to dump.
Thanks for sharing that tip!
Fun episode
Thanks Jill! Hope you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Have a great time on your trip. And those prices are much better!
Do they have fire pits on full hook up? How much are the golf carts?

We paid about $70 per day for a golf cart
Thank you for sharing that information. We took our propane fire pit but was unable to use it as it is not an approved fire pit.
No fire pit?
How's your new rig working out?
We are loving it. Great size and layout for us.

Sorry that is a lot of money. I can't see spending that at Disney, but to each his own. Enjoy
It’s definitely not for everyone but as long as they keep staying as full as they are, the prices will only continue to rise.
@@TRAVELSWITHDELANEYTHEPODCAST That's true you guys enjoy it and that's what matters
👍👍👍👍👍
There is not a dump station…I know from experience 😢
Where did you dump?
@@deborahann5552they let us use a full hookup that was empty to dump.

We ate at Steakhouse 71 at the Contemporary. They have a burger that is one of the best we have ever had at Disney World.
