Yesss! Last year caught me off guard and I wasn’t able to get much joy out of every part of it because it was all I could do to get gifts wrapped and food cooked!
Great ideas! I belong to a Christmas prep group and one of the main tenants is to dedicate some time every month (we begin in August) to get ready. Whether it's buying gifts, going through mailing lists, weeding out old decor and even clearing out closets and toy bins.
I think one of the things I really love about this new channel is the fact you can spread out your approach to the holidays and figure out ways to incorporate them each month throughout the year. For example I try really hard to finish all of my Christmas shopping by say September, and that includes paying for it. I spend a lot of the year listening to what people want and the rest of it looking for what they want. Like you I find some incredible bargains! My new goal for this year is to wrap my gifts ahead because I always seem to be rushing the wrapping at the last minute, which really stresses me out! This year I decided I wanted several large signs for my house and I decided to do them in June and July because I knew if I put them off they would not get finished in time for Christmas. No matter how well you do this it sort of creeps up on you. I love your suggestions. They are timely and they are easy if you just take them one at a time. This is going to be the best channel and I have said and will say it again how thrilled I am that you decided to start this and what a great niche this fills in our holiday calendar. Thanks so much for sharing!!!
Shannon, thank you for this video. I'm subscribed to both of your channels. I just love that you came up with the idea of having a year-round Christmas channel. It's good to know I'm not the only one thinking about Christmas all year long😉 Anyway, keep up the good work. I'm always excited to see what new things you have on your channels.
These are great because I was not prepared last year! Can you please do money-saving ideas or at-home Christmas activities? It might come in handy if things aren't back to normal by then
Love these ideas, especially the homemade gifts. I typically make homemade cause i did that when I had kids and was poor lol. So I just continued the tradition because everyone loves it. You've inspired me to get started on everything, but food. That's something that never changes. Traditional for Thanksgiving and non- traditional, easy Mexican lol. Thank you!
I do the same. We are a blended family, so we ended up with 4 girls, and now have a granddaughter to boot. But there was z couple of years, that I had a little money yo buy gifts instead of make them.....and family was disappointed, so I went back to making them stuff.
I used to make small inexpensive gifts for unexpected guests, neighbors and even mail carrier during Christmas time. I want that good feeling back. These tips are great and inspiring Thanks for sharing and for creating this All Christmas channel. Keep safe 💕💖
I have a second savings account and have automatic transfers to it every month in the same amount so that I stay on top of saving money all year round and am less likely to overspend.
Hi Shannon!! These are all wonderful ideas. My Nanny use to shop all year and have most of all her Christmas shopping done by July. She actually had 99% of it before she passed away in February of 2004. Thank you for sharing. Have a great afternoon and weekend with your family.
These are all really good ideas. My Christmas budget will be smaller this year but that's a good thing. I always start my cards mid or the first of November because I send so many. I love your top today...beautiful!
Thank you, Shannon. You allways have the Best ideas. I Love Christmas, too. So starting early helps me stay on top of everything and my budget. Thanks again. Love your new channel. Have a Blessed day.
Good time to start on maybe small inexpensive gifts that can be duplicated easily. It’s fun to give a couple of little gifts in one basket or box, maybe from the dollar store. An ornament maybe along with done homemade jam or a bag of homemade Chex mix. Maybe show how to put together those kinda of things. Throw some fabric in a white wire basket from Dollar Tree and go from there.
Shannon ... I just love your new channel!! These are really such great suggestions, the one about reflecting on past holidays is a good one. I look forward to your next video. Thanks for these great ideas!!!
Shannon, one of the things that my sister and I do is make our cookie dough and freeze it so when I want to bake it is much easier and cleaner. That way it makes my cookie basket making a lot easier. If I have guests come over I just take some dough out and bake a batch off. It is so great to have homemade cookies on hand at any time. And it is a lot less stressful
@@TheCozyChristmasCottage but you are helping children earn money for a good cause. It is like buying the $25 box of popcorn from the boy scouts. Sure there are more economical ways but who can resist the little cherubic faces when they ask.
Hi Shannon, thank you for some great tips for getting ready for the holidays! 😊 I received the Halloween decals yesterday 🎃 Can’t wait to put them on things. 🥰 Thanks for the speedy shipping. Have a wonderful day and thanks for sharing. 🎄☃️❄️

We send our christmas cards in November every year. December is just too insane every yr. If I tried sending them out in Dec I KNOW they wouldn’t go out till New Year’s. So I get cards out of the way first and can then focus on the Thanksgiving menu. In years past I began xmas present shopping in July just to spread out the expenses but this year has been sooo crazy and I am just starting now (in Nov). And I told everybody I am scaling back on gifts this year. And some of my family members have said the same/agreed to a more budget-friendly gift-exchange. We also usually go to the theatre during the holiday season. This year we are going in January.
Michaels has xmas picks and ribbon out, and yes I grabbed a few picks for my daughter and I 😁 and we’ve already got our Christmas money set aside and we’ll continue to add to it, that way there’s no stress 😃
The Christmas cards is a good idea to start now. Especially if you make them like I do! Does anyone else ever look at a house, and the first and only thing you think of is where to put the Christmas tree, before you buy or rent it!? I think I might be crazy 😜😂
Great tips Shannon! You look so pretty in those deep red tones.... So festive 🎄🎄 Good idea for the kid’s items at Craft Stores... the little ones love the crafting items and come Christmas time they are hard to find that are not specially “Christmas”. Then the idea of items that are 70% off Home Decor for the adult children! My adult daughters are not decorators! I don’t get it??? I gave birth to 2 girls who just are minimalist!!! LOL!! Of course one is crazy at 40 with a just turned 3 year old boy and a turning 2 year old little girl in a couple of weeks! Also working full time... decorating is the last thing she is doing...it is pick- up... pick- up toys! Wish she was near me...☹️ But wonderful tips ! Have a blessed weekend ! Hugs to you 🎄❤️🎄
I can totally understand how your daughter is with the kiddos! I did that too - just 7 years apart, lol! Thank you for coming over this way to shine your lovely comments on this channel too, very thankful for you! Hugs back to you!
I already have $800 saved for Christmas. It's a "sinking" fund of mine that I set up. I put $100 a month in it, and if I see gift ideas during the year, I grab them. It comes every year, so why not make it less stressful!!
Your video was great but it was sad looking at Hobby Lobby shelves so bare. Does anybody know where I can get a huge roll of brown paper?
Not sure if it’ll work but Home Depot has giant rolls in their paint section for about $13. I think it’s used for a floor covering
Start asking for ideas from your family for gifts.
GREAT IDEA!! I need to do that!
If you draw your eyebrows in a little closer, you will look more relaxed. It would also help draw viewers if you adopt a lower voice. Nice vid, thanks
