    I'm working on your hurdle stitch scarf right now and have been wondering if there's a way to do a matching hat and then POOF! This alert pops up on my phone. YAY!!! Thank you so much for your hard work and excellent videos!

    Thank you very much for sharing the pattern. I made it today with rib brim. It is very beautiful. I made many hats to personal use as I lost my hairs from chemo. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND FAMILY. 🎅🎅

    Love this pattern. Can it be done on a 48 peg 5/8 gauge loom.

    It would have been nice if you showed the bind off slower. I had to go look elsewhere to figure out how to do it

    Can I do this on a 41 peg loom… for a baby cocoon?

  • @BecBec1967

    Just a suggestion, I place my yarn either in a cut straw or empty pen chamber, makes it easier to handle the yarn, especially doing E-Wrap stitch. I also pull my yarn from the inside of my skein, so much easier than constantly having to turn skein over. But that's just my way of loom knitting. Only been loom knitting since last summer.

    • @TheDavetHomestead
      @TheDavetHomestead  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I tried the straw and the store bought pen thing, and it didn't work well for me on such a large gauge loom compared to the really small ones. For the pull, it depends on the type of yarn you are using. The Charisma yarn can only be pulled from the outside, there is no center pull. I'm glad the center pull works for you, some of my friends do that as well. For me, I end up with knotted messes, lol.

    Can I get the pattern for that reddish hat you were showing in this video?
    It looks so neat

      Sure, it is on my channel and just called the hurdle stitch: th-cam.com/video/963eN2qmmyc/w-d-xo.html

    I love this hat. It’s quick and easy! I have made several and the problem is that they get stretched out very quickly. Is there any way to prevent this? I am also using the same loom and Charisma yarn.

    • @TheDavetHomestead
      @TheDavetHomestead  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      hummm.... I haven't had that happen. Every pattern is different though and will produce different results.

    • @TheDavetHomestead
      @TheDavetHomestead  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, maybe trying a different yarn or washing and drying the hat. Sort of the way jeans get stretched out?

    HI, I am making this hat for Operation Gratitude. How many repeats of the Rows 1-4 do you recommend for adult size hat? Thank you

    • @TheDavetHomestead
      @TheDavetHomestead  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't really count the rows since each yarn comes out differently. I'd go by total length.

  • @angieprescott1567

    Can this be done using a lighter weight yarn like a #4 stitch? I really like both hats do you have a pattern for the hat that is not the hurdle

    • @TheDavetHomestead
      @TheDavetHomestead  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! I have many patterns on my channel. You can use #4 yarn, but make sure you either have the right gauge loom or use 2 strands together as one if you are using the same loom that I used.

    Beautifully done! Hope when I make these they are just as beautiful 😊 does the brand of looms matter?, I’m a beginner and have the yarnology looms from hobby lobby

    • @manta40
      @manta40 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The most important thing if you want exact same results is gauge (space from center of one peg to center of next) and number of pegs.

  • @brendawatkins687

    Can this be done on a 41 peg round loom?

    • @TheDavetHomestead
      @TheDavetHomestead  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! That information is in the video description. I also would probably use a thicker yarn like a #6 if using a larger gauge loom like the 41 peg loom that comes in a standard loom set.

    Is this pattern the same for a flat panel

    • @TheDavetHomestead
      @TheDavetHomestead  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will work up differently on a flat panel. I will be working on the flat panel/ scarf pattern very soon.

    Slightly disappointed as I'm a beginner and do not know how to do a drawstring cast off. The video fast forwards through so I can't see what to do.
