It's always made me chuckle how RuPaul is constantly saying things to contestants like "step out of that box" "be a rule breaker" "shake things up" "be outrageous"...but then along comes Willam, who is unabashedly all of those things, and RuPaul is like "yes, just not on my show". I think RuPaul missed some brilliant money-making opportunities by eliminating/banishing Willam. I'd have looked at Willam for the pot of gold that he is, if I were RuPaul...Willam is a straight up money-making machine from what I've seen.
It is a show tho and if Willam was allowed to break the rules and got away with it and then another contestant did the same thing and was punished a law suit would be in the works

A lot of them have already done it is my point, and they weren't eliminated. Also, I think Willams' "rule breaking" was the excuse they used for elimination. There were other reasons, based on Willams' interviews years later. Either way, it's all funny as hell though and I'd break out of hotel-jail with anyone of them lol

Hearing for the second time that Willam's elimination would've changed the course of the whole season makes me think that maybe Sharon really lose that lipsync. Not only the winner of the season, storylines, all Stars, a lot of changes. Anyway, that never happened.
You would thought that the Drag Queen crew would realised after dealing with Ru that there is level of respect that’s required to give a Drag Queen. Gay men know better than to address a Drag Queen disrespectful. life can become very difficult on the gay scene. There nothing worse than being taken down publicly by a drag queen in Sydney. I’ve seen straight people humiliated to point of tears because they thought they could take on that sharp tongue that drag Queen has.
Well, I don't think the goal of the production crew is to treat the queens with respect so they'll feel secure and confident. Their goals are to 1) keep them complacent, under control, and 2) get them upset for the sake of good reality tv. The production decisions make more sense if you look at the relationship between the show and contestants as an abusive one.
My theory on the Sharon vs. Phi Phi lipsync situation: (1) Double Shantay - it was a good lipsync and both were narrators of the season and giving good drama. Production probably wouldn't have wanted either to leave in the chance that maybe there would have been an opportunity for another lipsync in the future. or (2) Phi Phi goes home - they might have kept Sharon because Sharon was what they were looking for at the time. BUT I strongly believe Phi Phi would have been brought back in DILF challenge and would have won like she did in the normal season then the bottom 2 that episode would have been Latrice and Sharon. And Sharon would have gone home.
Sharon vs phi phi was a production stunt. They new willam was getting eliminated so they had them face off for the drama in those costumes. Frankly Chad and Dida were the actual worst performing team but the rivals going at it only for both to be safe when Willam is kicked out...great tv

Questions like “what if” usually aren’t on base. The Sharon/PhiPhi lipsync was to make the best TV when production knew Willam was getting the boot. Had Willam not been in that mess, I don’t know the bottom 2 would have been those two.
I wish the fandom would be as supportive to Latrice as other queens who have made mistakes or committed a crime. A crime is a crime no matter if people want to compare the crimes. Everyone makes mistakes including some past queens so hopefully they will also get back on the right path and that the fandom will also support them. I don't condone the crimes but I will always keep an open mind and support queens who want to better themselves and get their own life redemption.

Sharon's spooky drag was very unknown at the time of filming (in terms of drag race), she was the "underdog" of the season, and her rivalry with PhiPhi kept the fans on edge. PhiPhi needed to be in the top 3 to complete Sharon's storyline. As soon as the party city fight happened, all the other queens were fillers unfortunately. Sure, Willam and PhiPhi had a few fights, but none of them were as iconic and all happened in untucked. I think Sharon winning was a good thing for drag race as a whole in terms of accepting different styles of drag, but it's one of those necessary evil things.
