I think Delta couldn’t have summed the whole situation up better. There were professional and personal tiffs, common in any job, but rather than just let her have her flowers and let her go ethically, they chose to be mean.
And that’s all Delta is calling out, it’s the meanness. The unnecessary punishment of not allowing someone to be recognized despite doing the work required to earn their nomination.
The industry can be so petty, but it ESPECIALLY hurts when members of an already marginalized and ostracized community do it within themselves.
I’m glad Delta’s podcast is going strong. She keeps chugging despite the set backs.
That is World of wonder, they are petty and mean as fuck. They run a monopoly on drag queens and want to make sure they are the only wants producing drag content that goes mainstream. That's why they hate queens like Willam. They love trixie and katya because both of them are still friendly with WoW.
Thank you 👏 so many comments on Reddit completely missed the point. She is taking issue with the treatment, not necessarily the decision to let her go.
Just because you’re a part of a marginalized and ostracized community, it doesn’t mean you’re any more likely to be better or nicer than anyone else. Humans are humans and can be mean/greedy.
I think leaving her out of the last Emmy was the only upsetting thing anyone did here. They should have let her go, but let have her flowers on her way out. 😢

Having worked in tv and production companies - the kind of professional people management skills Delta’s correctly suggesting should’ve existed. i.e. “thank you this isn’t a fit and we’re going to let you go” are very absent. These people are very skilled, and super professional in other areas, but due to the structure of the industry they never learn how to have proper, difficult conversations you have in more traditional jobs. They can just ghost people so they do.

hey guys, i didnt understand when she said she questions the ethics of someone who shut down her personnal social media during the pandemics because it was too hard. is there something behind this? can someone explain it to me
I think Delta is referring to how RuPaul is very silent on social media when there are events that could be spoken on like the pandemic. RuPaul makes sure she's paid for everything and if you notice doesn't try to pick sides that could alienate getting paid. So she says or posts nothing instead and it makes Ru look very aloof and selfish.
