@@kappaross6124 I played Reality Acid in pauper to a couple 5-0s on MTGO. I even built it in paper so I could play in a tourny at Card Kingdom. Definitely one of my favorites.
Or find any other way to repeatedly return Reality Acid to your hand. I'd even argue that one-shot bounce on it is worth it to use the Reality Acid at least two times.
I get PTSD from hearing about the Reality Acid because my favourite Pauper deck is a Dimir homebrew Persistent Petitioners list, but one of my best friends also loves Acid Trip in Pauper, so he would regularly wreck me with Reality Acid, only leaving me with Counterspell to deal with him.
Graham: *huffs cards* "These cards do smell different, back me up on that." Kathleen: "This is the preview of cool cards and smell test." Yes, I came here to see Graham and Kathleen snort cardboard crack.
Yup. Pauper has a UW Acid Trip deck. Reality Acid on your opponent's good stuff (or manabase), bounce it back to your hand with Dream Stalker or Kor Skyfisher and make them sacrifice the Reality Acid target. Reality Acid another target and use Momentary Blink on the Stalker or Skyfisher. (There, I got it out of my system and boosted the video's engagement, you happy now Kathleen?)
Thank you Graham and Kathleen (and of course the rest of LRR) for continuing to make everything *gestures at the world* more bearable. I could listen to you two go back and forth more often (and both of you are part of my favorite ep of Game Knights).
I remember a year after I started playing magic, I downloaded an app on my iPod touch that was a magic card database. I scoured that thing for hours at a time in the car on vacations or on the bus to school (and sometimes in class), and I remember Time Spiral block always absolutely fascinated me, and made me really excited about the game I was getting passionate about. Loved this vid and love y’all!
I actually prefer this style of box opening. Hearing commentary about the cards that are all new to me keeps me interested, and your natural banter clearly works.
I can't wait to get back to yellowjacket games for some magic. I've been enjoying it vicariously through this channel for the past year. Thanks for the great content!
16:55 @Kathleen: Reality acid is a existing UW pauper deck, usualy called Acid Trip. You just blink or bounce the aura to get rid of opponents key pieces or mana base. Actually Dream Stalker is played in this deck as one of the way to bounce back the aura back to your hand :)
This is by far my favorite box opening. I want just hang out with you two all the time. Your humor is just my style. Love it. Thanks for the great video❤️
This box was a blast to watch you guys open! Definitely takes you back through Magic's fun, (somewhat) recent past. There's so much value in there its disgusting, it makes me so happy!
I am so glad you guys don't judge me for my cardboard addiction. Also the back and forth between you two is great! The cherry Graham and then there is the deadpan Kathleen
All of time spiral sold out before I could buy even a pack! Your guys card sniffing content is the closest I will get to that feeling of opening an old set, thank you for that.
I came to this after seeing The Professor's Booster Box Game video. For some reason, opening this set is very fun to watch. It's probably to see the 'throwback' cards; they look so good.
Reality Acid is such a cool card name, as well as an awesome effect. One of my all time favorites, just for the flavor of it. It's also pretty easy to break with flicker effects, because you get to kill the thing it was attached to, then attach it to something else.
The concept of concentrated blocks brings me such joy at the ideas that you could do with this. Lorwynmoor as a single set? All the worst draft chaff of Kamigawa, in a single block? HYPER-RAVNICA? The possibilities are endless, and quickly ridiculous.
This is so fun to watch. just seeing graham and kathleens reaction to these cards that they may not have seen before. also to answer some questions that graham and kathleen asked during the video: one of the main ways to abuse reality acid is to either flicker of bounce it. this is because the wording of the text is that when reality acid is removed from a permanant it puts a trigger on the stack to sacfifice that permenant. the 2/2 knight token with protection from white haste and flanking comes from Riftmarked knight which is a 3 mana 1 WW creatuse human rebel knight with protection from black and flanking with suspend 3 for 1WW you get the token when the last time counter is removed from the suspended card. and the haste comes from the function of suspend.
Reality Acid + Dream Stalker kills the permanent immediately and gives you back the Reality Acid to cast again.
Played a reality acid deck on MTGO for a while. It was gross and I'm a monster.
@@kappaross6124 I played Reality Acid in pauper to a couple 5-0s on MTGO. I even built it in paper so I could play in a tourny at Card Kingdom. Definitely one of my favorites.

Graham: “I’ve never seen Reality Acid before.”
Me, who has played against many brago EDH decks: “Must be nice.”
Yeah as someone in playgroup with a Brago player, that card is FAR from bad. It is definitely horrible though
I loooooooove having reality acid in my Brago deck.
It's so good in my Aminatu deck
Also very common in Pauper. Great card!
That’s horrendous and I feel for you.
Dreamstalker: exists
Graham: “Oh God, kill it.”
it is a creepy card
Came over from Tolarian Community College, but I'm staying for the guy who sniffs fresh magic cards. A man of culture.
My sister smelled one of my packs and said it was nasty. She hated it lol
Graham: "were gonna ignore the commons."
Also, Graham: "look at this common! "
Look at this horrifying Dream Stalker.
Ooh Dream Stalker.
There's another one.
Here he is again.
Ohhh, he haunting my nightmares...
Obviously, no Judgment, that's another block.
have your god damn like
Judgement denied. :P
Boooo. That got a groan from me. Have a like.
Ha! Good one!
The fact that this set is so criminally underprinted just breaks my heart... 😢
yeah, I 'd love a foil beast within but I can't justify $70 for a card that's normal $3 just because it was under printed.
Absolutely. Mh2 also being cut shorter than MH1 was frustrating. How did they not expect this to be a hit?

Yes, yes it is.
Graham and Kathleen are so fun on camera together. Thank you for covering the smell test! (edit: gl with the giveaway everyone!)
Kathleen's random pack arrangement vs Graham's orderly stack is perfect.

*Doesn't even ignore the tokens*
"We're gonna ignore the commons" My Pauper heart is breaking.
I knew this set was complex, but only after playing a few sealed games I started to understand how much is actually going on in this set. Love it
The real combo was always Reality Acid into Graham's new favorite Dream Stalker

The slivers have returned. It is as the prophecy has foretold.
Literally every time Graham went "ooh [common rarity card name]" I remember fond memories of durdles past. Good times
“Smell pack” will probably now be chanted by comments and chats just like “show feet” is (that is such a cursed thing for me to say)
I don't get showing feet.
I do get smelling packs.
I can respect a man who sniffs his freshly opend boosters
I'm just imagining the headache that ensues when more than one player is using slivers and Sliver Legion hits the table.

Graham sniffing the cards: "This is why you came to this video"

Also: Where would the winner be announced?
I would not have minded seeing an exhaustive look at each pack, but this is probably the right length of video.

The foiling on that old border card looks so good, and so does the whole set!
Watching people opening a box when they don't know all the cards in the set before doing so is honestly so refreshing and far more entertaining.
