Quick question! Is it safe to look at the end of the connector? I looked at the end/into the end after disconnecting it, but now realise it may have been a bad idea?
Not great.. but as long as you didn't smush it right up to your eyeball trying to look for visible light, you are probably ok. The light / energy on fibre is at a frequency we can't see, so no matter how hard you look (and you should not!) it won't be visible but will still be throwing potentially damaging energy into your eye.
@@freename Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it. As far as I understand, they're a Class 1 unamplified laser, so risk would theoretically be minimal unless, as you said, it's right up close to the eye and for an extended period of time
