Just bought one and have it on my wrist now. It’s a beautiful piece. Not too plain, not too flashy. Beautiful German quality.

It's not just a 30-minute chronograph register at the 12:00 position. There is also a hand that advances and measures out 12 hours it's small and underneath the 30 minute hand.
You can see the 12 and the markers for the hours on the inside of the track that shows the minutes up to 30.

What really amazes me about the Junghans watches is that they look way bigger than what they are. But they wear really nicely. I think the case edges gives the illusion, most watches have quite a significant case edge compared to Junghans. I'm wondering if this contributes the Junghans amnazing legibility.

Agreed. It looks huge in pics and videos. It wears like a true 40mm watch. Very thin and comfy. That thin bezel helps give it the eye presence of a 42mm watch. I like that.

man! I was looking for reviews of the form C for such a long time! there hardly were 2 unboxing videos... but finally TEDDY comes to the rescue! thanks man! I really now need to decide between 2 very different watches ... the form C or the tissot seastar chronograph quartz ... I don't have any formal watch/dress watch nor a dive watch (but will Get a HydroConquest ceramic bezel blue) ... im so so confused ... like a month and I've been going back and forth between these two ... thanks for this video man... as usual an excellent level of professionalism!

Why can’t we get the price of a quartz watch and the accuracy with a Swiss automatic watch, and in solid gold? A man can dream. Great review!

Can you find the Junghans C in any brick and mortar stores? I will ne visiting New York city soon and was hoping to look at and feel the model C. I saw that the Museum of modern art sells them, but only online. They don't sell them in the store.
Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks

I really don't need an automatic movement in every god damn watch. I would be happy if there is always a cheap option between quartz or automatic. In many cases i just want the design but don't want to pay 500 - 1800€ for the watch because it is an automatic. So this Form C model is a fair deal. Junghans makes it much better than Nomos which is very overpriced.

    • @AndreiLucaa
      @AndreiLucaa 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Nomos is not overpriced bro. It’s one of the only independent brands that makes their own movement and escapements. I suggest you take a deeper dive into Nomos. It’s a fantastic watchmaker.
Junghans is amazing on their own too.

Does the big seconds hand move like a seconds hand on a standard auto? In other words, is the big seconds hand only for the chrono function and, therefore, stands still until activating the chrono function?

    • @thewheelieguy

Yes, that's right, the regular seconds are on the sub dial at the 6 o'clock only

It is desirable to turn the chrono on while wearing the watch. How much does that reduce battery lifespan?

I'm looking for a replacement watch that will not die on me, and will not depreciate heavily in value, like other mid 500 buck watches. Would this fit the bill? I have had an invicta chrono that lasted for 18 mos, and also fossil, which lasted less than 6 mos. I am not hard on watches. Mechanically they were both dogs. I am sick of watches that last no more than a couple of years and tired of buying junk.

Hamilton khaki field, Hamilton khaki king, any Seiko diver (samurai, turtle, 5kx), glycine combat sub (if you can find them under 500 bucks) or the Tissot visodate.
My nr1 recommendation is to go with Hamilton.

Hi, question but is there a point in buying the automatic version of this even tho you won't actually see the sweeping motion until you start the chronograph? I love the watch design and I've only recently started getting into mechanical watches. I'm basically revamping my watch collection so I am leaning more towards an automatic but I almost feel like I want it just because I know that on the inside it's an automatic but nothing more. Almost seems like chronographs are better of being quartz considering the accuracy and chronographs being used to measure time? Is there something I'm missing? Really trying to expand my watch knowledge. Would appreciate the help. Thanks!

There is no auto version of this EXACT watch. There are auto versions of other similar Junghans chronos though. Similar style and design, but not exactly the same. All that said, I tend to stay away from automatic chronos as they break easily and cost a lot to repair and service. Sometimes as much as $750+ depending on the brand. Keep that in mind as it isn’t discussed much. That may or may not be a factor in one’s decision process. This exact watch (Form C Chrono) does however have a very nice and not your typical cheap quartz movement and has several actual jewels in it just like an automatic movement, just not so many. Add the tastefully updated but still very Bauhaus design from the Max Bill models and you have a solid and affordable winner that looks and feels much like it’s $1500 brothers and sisters.
