I used to be interested in the Rare Beauty highlighters, but seeing how easy they break, I don't want them anymore no matter how beautiful the formula is. Anyway, I always love your declutters, they're so fun!
I have 2 and they’ve never broken on me. Got them when they came out. I keep my makeup in IKEA Alex drawers. That highlighter is at the top for me. It’s so good! You have to try it at least once. TH-camrs do handle their makeup collection a lot. Ya, maybe don’t take it on vacation or don’t keep it in a loose makeup bag, but it deserves a chance.
I so appreciate that you explain how you use it and how it looks, including undertones, finish on skin, and how well they last. You just taught this old lady that the only highlighter I need is from Essence. I, like you, hope they come out with a pink version.
Even though highlighter has become less popular over the years I feel like my makeup doesn’t look complete without it! It totally brings my face back to life

I love the size of your makeup collection. It’s not too obnoxiously big, like many creators’ collections, but you still have many great choices. 😊 I LOVE the looks of that Westman Atelier highlighter! 😮 That was absolutely beautiful! Now I’m going to be thinking about that till it drives me crazy and I end up buying it lol 😂

@ It really can be this is the first time I’ve moved out of home too. I’ve only ever moved when my family moved house & when my parents split so it’s fairly different. Can’t wait to have everything all sorted so I can hopefully relax before Christmas 😄
I remember that video with you trying out that Flower Beauty highlighter palette! I also remember when you were really into The Balm. I got the Mary Lumenizer and one of their eyeshadows in Ipsy bags. I recently decluttered the highlighter because the only highlighter I use is the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood flawless filter. Mine is going bad (I got it way back in 2018, before they had the minis) so I want to replace it. The ELF version seems like it has some glitter that the Tilbury one doesn't, so I'm thinking about getting the Auric glowlust in a travel size instead. I only use highlighter on my cheeks or sometimes in that C shape around my eye, so the travel size is perfect for me. If I end up using the whole thing up, then I'll invest in a larger size.
The way how I make yellow highlighter for me is I go in using a highlighter brush or a fan brush and layer a liquid highlighter on top and it looks perfect combined.
I definitely understand! So many formulas highlight my textured skin too. I think you would love the essence Pure Nude Highlighter, if you haven’t tried it yet. It’s very subtle and flattering on the skin!
I'm 53 and adore the Essence Pure Nude that Andrea is recommending. Very subtle and glowy NOT shiny or metallic. It's priced just right, you can't go wrong. Do it! Have fun 😊

Becca highlighters are definitely classic highlighters. The liquids are my favorite, simply because they aren’t breakable. The full size Becca powder highlighter I have is fine, but the minis kept on breaking. I had to keep on repressing them.
I thought they did being the ABH Amreazy highlighter back one time. I could be mistaken though. I used mine just a couple days ago and it’s still good. I need to use it more actually. I can’t get rid of it lol.

This motivated to double look at my highlighters. My go tos are the rare beauty, bareminerals gen nude, alamar cosmetics and Jacklyn hill… but I use them fore eyeshadow or inner corner. I also realized that I’m not into gold highlighter anymore I’m more of a rosy or peach tone highlighter. I don’t even touch the rest so might have to let them go…
I’m decluttering blushes. I’m down to Danessa Myricks for cream and Glossier for liquid. I’m holding on to MAC Prism because it’s powder and discontinued. Ditto Benefit Dallas. I am on the fence with the Benefit Georgia. I may hold on to the EM powder but I use it like a bronzer. I may hold onto MAC Peaches. That may push me to declutter Georgia. I’m tossing my Persona powders. Loved them. But they are old. I’m tossing all the doefoot liquids.
Danessa Myricks blushes really are so gorgeous! Which Em Cosmetics blush do you have? That sounds like a perfect shade. Decluttering always feels so good! 🙌
i have to say, i use that flower beauty day glow highlighter every morning for work. it’s subtle and blends easily into the skin, i wouldn’t say it’s a tacky finish but i do set my under eyes after i apply the highlighter. does that matter? idk 🤷🏻♀️ lol but it took me a while to like it, also love the other liquid highlight from flower in opal!
I feel like it took me a little while to like it too! It’s such a different texture compared a lot of my other favorites! I feel like I usually apply it after setting the skin but now I want to try it your way!
@ ohh okay, i honestly never thought to apply it that way! i use a cream bronzer and blush so instinctively, i was following those up with that highlighter. maybe because its a thicker texture it does better under products versus over them. also i don’t feel like it accentuates texture either
My Becca full size highlighter is still in tact and I got it 3 years ago. lol The rare beauty highlighters break from one fall. The best highlighters that are durable and perform well are OFRA and Benefit highlighters. I have the rare beauty one, and I always put it back into the box it came in, and I don’t take it with me on travel trips.
I actually got them from TJ Maxx in the kitchen section a few years years ago! I have seen really similar organizers there recently though! Definitely check there or Marshall’s or even HomeGoods!
I’ve been lucky with my CP ss formulas none of them have dried out on me and I know I’ve had most of them for like 2/3 yrs. I just wore the tinkerbell highlighter the other day.
Watching this while cleaning and had to pause because I thought there was a spider on the catrice high lighter. Finally put the video back into full screen mode to see it was a flower. 🤦🏼♀️ totally thought you may be messing with us!
Oh my gosh, that’s so funny because when I was filming this video I had mentioned that I always got comments about it being a spider in a TikTok video where I featured this highlighter! 😂 I ended up cutting it out of this video because I was rambling about it but that’s hilarious.

Essence had a couple other shades of their Pure Nude highlighters a few years ago. I have one with a green shift (Cosmolighter), but they also had one with a pink shift (Spacelighter).

I have the Mesmerise shade in the Rare beauty highlighter, both the powder and the liquid and I find the powder ones are way to intense to use on my actual face. I use it on my eyes on my tearbags for a japanese style makeup look, or one and done. For my face I prefer something less intense, with Fenty Killawatt, Pat mc grath, Natasha Denona one in the glam face palette, and ABH glow seeker being my favourites.

Makeup can expire that quickly, but I find that those products last much longer than the expiration date brands list! I usually go by texture, color, performance, and scent. I do take date into consideration though because sometimes you just have products for way too long!

My old Super Shock highlighters are still creamy, the SS shadows dry out on me quickly and just threw out over a dozen.

I have too many liquid highlighters that I never use and lately I’ve been mixing them with a liquid blush to make my own glowy blush!

maybe the cover fx palette has a similar effect of the dior backstage highlight palette? Which I also only use on my eyes!

I love your vidros, but Isn't all that makeup expired anyway? I usually throw out my stuff between 6 months to a year.
