There is of course the small matter of getting the supply to the EV charger unit in the first place...
That’s the problem for me. I can do the EV charger part, but I can’t get the supply for the main box.

@@quackieshoebill1019 could be. But dropping the drill could damage it too. And I think a drop is harder then a little tappi tap on a plug.
I always use a rubber mallet when I’m putting plugs in walls

Only showed the easy part. You still have to configure the thing and add load balancing.
I’ve installed two Tesla Wall Connectors the run power sharing off one 60 amp breaker. Easy install…except for pulling the thick cable through conduit.
For anyone who does work with electrical wires (not romex particularly), the Knipex tool he uses to take the outer jacket off the wire bundle is totally worth it. Game changer

Knipex is the king of tooling imo, Germans definitely got their tooling right

Surely there's more to it than that? I had one installed as part of me buying the electric London cab. I had to take and forward photos of my consumer unit, driveway and side of my house for the survey. They also upgraded the RCD that powered the charger and the paperwork???? I'm pretty sure that unless it's fitted by a qualified sparky and certified to the current regulations you might invalidate your home insurance in the event of the unit going up in flames and taking your house with it.
Yes you can fit one yourself but at your own risk.

I am curious about the loops that the installer makes in the wires. What is the purpose? Won't that cause some issues with induction and heating in the adjacent wires?

Don't believe what see see . Installing level 2 EV charger may look easy. You need to connect wires from main electrical panel has 200A capacity
It's easy, I just did it. Put a breaker in the panel, and run two hits wires and a ground.

this "charger" doesn't have any electronics other than some leds, it's just a fancy wall socket for a fancy plug. You could rig the EV using this thing to use regular plug like every home appliance since all the charging electronics are contained within the EV. But hey, this way you wouldn't pay 700 BRITISH POUNDS FOR A PIECE OF PLASTIC.
What are the two other pins for in the connection to the car?

@@Luka1180 There's nothing to prove. All batteries are charged with DC and EV quickcharging relies on dumping lots of DC amps straight into EV battery. This thing outputs AC (source: manufacturer website) like it's straight from mains (*because it is*), meaning the heavy lifting of rectifying the AC current has to be done by your EV. The only thing this charg- product provides is beefier, 32amp rated connector, proprietary plug shape and some leds. The 32amp rated cables, fuses, etc for this fancy wall socket you still need to install yourself.
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if this entire video was a covert ad for this product.
Seems rather convoluted to me. I just press [Raise pantograph] and voila! Connected to 25kV traction supply without any hassle! 🚄💨❤🔥
