I know this is an older video, but I did some deep Internet research on this leak. It's been known by Honda and they've kept it quiet, because it effects so many years of CRVs. They don't want the finanancial responsibility of it. It's the windshield cowl. Take it off and replace the material backing they used on it. It disintegrates, over time and the leak starts. I replaced mine with a thick coat of Flex Seal, two years ago, on my 99 CRV. Not a drop of water since. I hope this helps.

Thank you I did put some sealer along that window cowl after I took it off to look underneath for leaks but it still did it. It was obvious to me after I seen the rust and water marks coming down drivers pillar.
But even still it was hard to find cos it was just a little drip at time.

Did you put the seal behind the cowl or you removed the cowl completely?

The problem is that the steering wheel was installed on the wrong side.

It creeps in along the bonnet release cable at the "A" pillar. Just clean and seal the cable and grommet behind the wheel arch cover where it enters the car to the release handle. 👍

Good video. Thank you! Have the same issue on a 98 CRV. Drips down from under the dash just above the footrest on the driver's side. calked across top of windshield first,, and now two new windshield installs later, it's still leaking. So, the search continues....let's see...water finds the path of least resistance...water runs down hill...like trying to find a leak in the roof!

Good luck Bill, this issue I had was driving me crazy! I didn't want the car to end up smelly and moulding. So happy when I finally got it.

I have found the problem! You need to take the car back and get one with the steering wheel in the right place!. Hondas don't generally leak. Has the windscreen EVER been replaced? R

I found some broken glass under the windscreen cowl not alot but i think it had been replaced before.. so i sealed the windscreen all around and then the bottom plastic cowl aswell so far so good Randy

@@MycoolNZ Having the same issue here in the states with a 2007 model. Same exact spot on the leak, and my brother had the same experience with an earlier model. It's not the cowls, that's for sure.

@@MycoolNZ G'day, just wanna confirm it was a windscreen rubber seal problem?? As in the seal shrunk and was the cause of the crv internal pond feature.
