We are so back. Nothing better than the boys talking thrones. Thank you for getting this up so quick
Thanks for being here dude
It’s the best feeling
You guys have seriously stepped the game up visually here on TH-cam. The scenes and pictures of characters are great additions
Shout out producer Kade
Shoutout to Producer Kade!
Ross taught me that Aegon is actually somewhat magnanimous.
He’s ATTEMPTING to be #magnanimous 😂
Love that you guys mentioned the turning point for Aegon was when he felt the smallfolk's adoration in season one at the coronation.
As for the servants gripe, why would anyone notice the servants? The majority of the highborn and guards view them as furniture or fixtures, not people. Also, doing their work at night would make more sense than during the day where they would inconvenience the nobility, especially with a distasteful job of catching rats.
Jaehaerys and his twin sister Jaehaera are 6 years old during episode 1. In the book, they have hatchling dragons named Shrykos and Morghul
Ah well Condal said 4 years old in the Inside the Episode so I was referencing that
It would be awesome if you guys printed a big map of Westeros and do an election poll style coverage of who is fighting for who, putting green or black as the banners get called for one group or the other. I imagine it will get flipped from one to the other as more people get wacked.
y'all worked hard to get this out, thank you
Big props to Producer Kade as well
Only GoT/HotD podcast I can tolerate. I love that yall don't take it too serious but still do a excellent rundown and theories.
Means a lot! Thanks for being here!
I really enjoyed the premiere! Characters are well realized and dialogue is also well done. Looking forward to the upcoming weeks!
Thanks for being here with us!
Missed getting to listen to the boys digest each episode and making me think about things I didn't realize or notice. House of Dragons is BACK!!
LET’S GOOOOOO WE ARE BACK
Y'all got to it, Lord Cregan was showing Jace the Wall, his main focus and duty. If he was just chilling in Winterfell saying he had to protect a border, it might have come off as flippant...
Re: Red Keep security, Cheese can be seen in the beginning of the episode walking around the castle.
Between Larys killing off a ton of staff, Otto's paranoia, and Alicent trying to keep her affair with Ser Criston a secret, there weren't a lot of guards on duty, and most were guarding the king (more like guarding his ego, amiright?). There's a lot of disconnect and secret keeping in team Green, and that directly corresponded to the lack of guards and servants around when Jaehaerys was killed.
(Spoilery bit deleted per request)
Thanks for that clarification! And thank you for buffering your potential spoiler. That being said, in the future we'd appreciate avoiding potential spoilers altogether to protect those of us with wandering eyes.
How would y'all feel about hearing about how they did things different? @@OystersClamsCockles
@OystersClamsCockles No worries guys, I'll delete the potential spoiler. Every forum is a bit different when it comes to that stuff, and I wanna be respectful of your space.
@@achohelelwhy We really appreciate that!
@@aguru19 Kind've fine with that. Saw a LOT of book readers complaining on X last night about Blood and Cheese.
The marketing for this is genius. Hbo showed cities with their landmarks, flying flags for the greens and blacks. So awesome. My country’s capital raised the black stood and with the black queen😂. Btw did you guys clock out that the Greens are considering a Greyjoy as master of ships. Its not a spoiler but he is called the Red Kraken. The staff also did not stop Rhaenys and Erryk escape
The marketing was fantastic
So glad you're back! I've been a fan since season 6 of GOT & even the rewatches. I love your dynamics together and how you break down the episodes. Keep up the great work! 🏆
Respect.
Great recap and review! Can't wait for Thursday's Patreon ep
Much appreciated, Tess!
Cregan Stark isn't a member of the Night's Watch. He's wearing the House Stark sigil on his armor during Jac's tour of Winterfell. Also, the Night Watch brothers address Cregan as "My lord" not "Lord Commander"
Watching the episode again and as someone who is ride or die House Stark, that opening with the music was bad ass
We are so insanely back
We have, perhaps, never been more back!
@@OystersClamsCockles If it is to be said, so it BE, so it is... let's be real we never left!
Cregan’s sword is Ice, which will then become Eddards’s sword later
Tight tight tight
Ratchatchers always work at night because that’s when the rats come out and start moving around and they’re literally carrying rat traps with them so if they’re not doing anything outright strange they’re not going to be randomly stopped and questioned.
Makes sense
the subtitles during the incident were brutal lol
Very unfortunate
Great breakdown of the episode and funny. First time watching you guys but you got a new sub!
Hell yeah welcome to the Clam Fam
So glad you’re back! My favorite podcast 😊
We appreciate it!
Was that a top 5 Gnarliest thing we've ever seen from the GoT universe???
The decapitation of a child? Technically, we didn’t see it haha
Mysaria was leaving Kings Landing after Otto Hightower had her house burned down for spying on the Red Keep. She's trying to escape in general and gets caught by patrols of the Gullet by the Sea Snake's ships. She is sort of the Spider of this book
Right on thanks for the clarification
I am a big golf fan and HOTD, birdies for thee dear brother.
Why is Ser Criston Cole wearing full body armor during Alicent and his opening oral scene?
Can never be too careful
Love seeing the perspective of folks not farmiliar with the books. Keep it up lads.
Much appreciated!
honestly surprised Alicent wasn't more pissed about what happened with Luke. They quickly mentioned in the small council meeting that Rhaenyra didn't respond to her letter saying sorry about Luke!? lol what??
Fun fact: wild rats are mostly nocturnal, so having yoir rats catchers running around unabated throughout the night hours makes perfect sense.
Yaaaaaayy!! Good to hear your voices again! 😊 I have Scorch too!! 🔥
So back! Would have loved to see the lady of the vale and jace negotiate. Classic got episode. - Also very much appreciate the pace of the show it looks like they are focusing on the day to day life. what a week for these guys amirite.
I wanted to see Aemond tell his family that he accidentally killed Lucerys more than I wanted to see dat boy Jace negotiating with Lady Jeyn
@@OystersClamsCockles I think Aemond's eagerness to go rogue tells us that he probably played it off like he did that shit on purpose. Also, viserys once said that in the targaryen tree there are dragon riders and there are dreamers. so I think helena is what you would call a "dreamer"
what have been a dope scene though
You guys are so wrong about Criston Cole, the guy ascended to the kings guard, and bedded Alisent and Rheanyra, he is my hero 😂
Did anybody spot the person wearing a bright RED outfit? Is that a young Melisandre?? 👀
Oh....my god.
i thought that was rhaenyras handmaiden elinda??
Hope we're treated to some good scenes with Cregan Stark's greybeards. Badass northern warriors and Ser Barristsn Selmy types. Imo he was one of the most badass warrior characters in GoT, then the way Dumb&Ditzier did away with him was reprehensible, in keeping with how they took a huge dump on the last 2 seasons.
PS enjoyed the podcast. Agree this is the most "Thronesian" episode so far in a very good way.
Hell yeah. Need old weathered warriors throwing down!
@@OystersClamsCockles
Yep old wolves with sharp teeth.
Your dragon cry is top tier 😅
Much appreciated
Rhaenyra's dragon is the mother of Luke's dragon so it was also mourning for a lost offspring.
I believe Larys killed all the servants who were spying for Daemon's ex, the White Worm. In the finale of last season, I believe we saw the beginning of this purge, in the form of a big mansion on fire, when all the people were being herded to the chapel for Aegon's coronation.
Are you guys in HOU? I gotta support the hometown! Great episode
We are both born and raised Houstonians but live in Austin and Bolen Media HQ is in South Austin! Huge Houston sports fans though. Check out TH-cam.com/@BangingTheCan for my (Ross) Houston sports podcast
@@OystersClamsCocklesbanging the can lmaooooo we love our cans! I mean….fans 🤭 just subbed
Three knights of the kings guard defected to Rhaenyra. Shocked that Otto as Hand would not have used that opportunity to bring some more families to their side. He wanted Rhaenyra to be politically strategic when she selected Criston Cole in season one! Where is that logic? Instead, they left Queen Halaena and her children with no sworn protector and extremely vulnerable.
LFG so excited for this video. Always astute commentary
DAN THE AD SALES MAN!
The man Criston Cole is just never doing his job.
Too busy munching
BUT BOTH ME BROTHERS WERE SOLDIERS
😂😂😂
Criston Cole master of simp 😂😂😂
I am a fan of the podcast! I would love for you guys to review the show "FROM" and on apple tv "DARK MATTER" and "SEVERANCE". I would love to hear what yall think about these shows. I need more content! lol
We talked about Severance and will DEFINITELY be covering season 2 when it drops!
Am I the only one that thinks it’s weird that Helena said they “killed the boy” instead of they killed my son?
That was a weird line for sure
Helaena’s always been pretty weird so I didn’t think anything of it
That dude Alyn is valyrians bastard I think
Ohhhhhhh snap that would make sense!
Loved the pod
Much appreciated!
Anyone else been listening since the cohost veronica/grandex days???
You'd be surprised how many of y'all there are
🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️
How the hell does Daemon do back home? Nope. I just don't see it.
8 episode season 😢
Yeah that’s the only bummer
The rat catchers walk around throughout the episode unnoticed by any of the royals. It’s great on a rewatch. They pay them no mind.
Ohhhh cool
Dragon Dreamer
Cregan is warden of the north lol. Not a watchmen
Yeah we got there eventualt
LETS GOOO
IT HAS BEGUN
#scorch
Thank you for representing for Scorch #scorch
Im baffled that people dont see how badly they botched it. The have the actors, source material, the budget, etc... it was so poorly executed.
People who read the book had a problem with it. People who didn't read the book did not. That's the differentiator. Book readers had built-in expectations with Blood and Cheese that the rest of us did not.
@OystersClamsCockles I read the books and I didn't mind this version. I find it interesting to see what changes/liberties they take with the show compared to the book
@@Perplxeda lot of book readers are flipping the f*** out haha
Rory is way more hateable than Bryson
