I'm from Colorado - I think a "casserole" is just some sort of baked dish where all the ingredients are mixed and baked in one pan- usually a 9 x 13".
Yep that's basically it! Not always mixed together tho...sometimes its layered...honestly seems to me it's called casserole if its prepared and baked in a dish in the oven sometimes I hear them referred to as a "dish" or a "bake" so who knows we can call it what we want lol which is what I gta start doing bc my son wants NOTHING to do w it the sec I say "casserole " lol
Tacos look amazing 🎉 Meat would also be good on lettuce as lettuce wraps🙌🙌
Me too and I totally agree with you about what a casserole truly is
How funny yet true. It reminds me of the time my daughter (age 3) made this very adult declaration ..."I don't think I like "casserole ". The truth of a child, as the word casserole was all encompassing, lol.
I love cottage cheese with any kind of sandwich….. every time I would go to my grandparents house my grandma would set a small container of cottage cheese in front of me and I would eat the whole thing by myself. My grandma passed away earlier this year. Best memory ever.
Y’all I literally laughed out loud when poor bunky burned his hand. It wasn’t the event but J”s response 😂 my husband looked over at me and wondered why I was cackling so hard . Y’all just made my day ! Bless you!
Bucky and his hands he scared me lol. Love the recipes ❤
Hey Bunkey’s 😊 y’all are a hoot. I couldn’t stop laughing. Bunkey got cut 2x then had his hair singed 🤣🤣🤣 Jessica your laugh is so adorable 🥰 I laughed with you 🤣🤣 Thank you for sharing these delicious recipes. I started making a casserole dish and it has been a favorite here lately. I just bought a box of Au gratin potatoes 🥔 ground turkey sweet peas and corn. Follow the directions on the Au gratin potatoes. Brown up the ground turkey with garlic 🧄 add salt and pepper. Add the peas and corn to your turkey meat till heated through. Spray your casserole dish add turkey mixture. Top it with cheese then add the Au gratin potatoes. Mix together and top it with cheese. Cover and bake at 325 (depending on your oven) for 30 mins or until potatoes are done. This is a must try. We love it. It’s creamy and delicious 😋 Love ya Bunkey’s and God bless you 😊🙏🏻🧡
I love this episode. You two were having so much fun and made me laugh so many times. Lol and the recipes are scrumptious!! Never change. I love to watch the two of you cook and laugh!! Perfect!!
I agree!! They are a HOOT!
I needed this video today! I can’t tell you how many times I have cut the tips of my fingers off slicing cucumbers on a mandolin. And I literally burn myself every other week on the stove. 🤣 And there’s 3 teaspoons in a tablespoon. Just FYI. Love y’all!! ❤❤
Bunkey’s.... you both are so precious and your laughter just fills the heart !! Love watching you both cook together , is hysterical.. Poor Mr.B’s hand didn’t come out to well today ! Always... Always use the guard with a mandolin !!!
I go to Julie Pacheco's page. I love the ready hash brown and sausage casserole. It's one of our favorites!
Jessica and Bunky you guys made my day.
My husband went to Heaven September 10th. It's been hard for me so you 2 brightened me up.
Love you both!!!
Great recipes!!
Oh dear, I’m so very sorry for you and your loss. Glad you found this place that is so happy and up lifting! 🧡🙏🏻
So sorry for the loss your husband, our daughter past on March 11th. It's been pretty hard for us as well. Will be praying for you as well. Bless 🙏 you.
@@GloriaJackson-r4b my heart hurts for u and your family, to lose a child hurts so very much 💔 you will have my deepest sympathy 🙏 you are in my prayers 🙏
Ta ke one day at a time. Cry, cry and cry more, honestly it helps.
@@roxannebudd1978 Thank you soooooo much ❤️
Wrap Bunky in bubble wrap! We must protect him at all cost! Y'all are too cute as always!
Oh my gosh, you two are just full of Bunky Spunk! What a blessing you both are to your friends! And of course amazing dishes.
A family fave is breakfast casserole…it’s basically a cut up can of biscuits, sausage, eggs, cheese topped with country gravy.
And I also want to thank you for letting me know about Mandy and the making. I love her channel as well.
The Pioneer Woman's noodle bake is absolutely outstanding! It's one of my family's favorite dishes! Even my picky 7 year old ask for seconds!
It’s a fave in your house too!
I'm drooling and I'm not even 5 minutes into the video. You two always brighten my day. Jess, your laugh is contagious. PS, my favorite casserole is Poppy seed chicken casserole. I think y'all would like it. Here's the recipe..
INGREDIENTS
5 cups chicken breasts, cooked and cubed (or shredded)
1 cup sour cream
tap here
2 (10.75 ounce cans) condensed cream of chicken soup
2 cups crushed Ritz crackers, (about 1 1/2 rolls of crackers)
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 Tablespoon poppy seeds, (optional)
optional 2 cups cooked rice
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Place cubed chicken in a 9X13 casserole dish. *Note: Some people layer some cooked rice on the very bottom underneath the chicken so that it's a meal in one.
Stir together the condensed soup and sour cream. If you wish to add the additional flavorings see notes. Pour over the chicken.
In a separate bowl, stir together the crushed crackers and melted butter. Sprinkle over the chicken and sauce. Sprinkle the poppy seeds on top.
Bake for 20-30 minutes in the preheated oven, until the top of the casserole is browned and the sauce is bubbly. Serve plain or over rice.
Hey Alma and Tony ❤️ Have a wonderful week.
@robylove9190 hey Roby. Thanks, you too. Hope you're doing well.
Hi Alma, you read my mind with your comment. Hope your doing well.
@@debbiekocol8731 hey sweet friend. I'm doing pretty good, dealing with back pain and a Crohn's flare-up. How are you doing today, friend?!
Sorry to hear your not feeling well. Am heading to the mtns today hope to see some changing colors of the trees. Will say a prayer for you and hope you feel better soon. Have a safe wknd
Mom always made Goulash: hamburger, small can of tomato sauce and tomato paste, macaroni noodles, onion, Italian seasoning and whatever frozen or canned veggies us kids would pick. Added water to it an cooked the noodles with the rest in the cast iron skillet. Easy fast and delicious. Salt, pepper to taste and bay leavesif you want. Even the other kids in the neighborhood loved it and would ask for seconds!
@kekej9348 yes, but coming from a German Austrian background it was Goulash. Hamburger helper looks to be Goulash rebranded and packaged for convenience. I promise my mom learnd to make it from her mom way before Hamburger helper was ever around
I’m from the Midwest and we call them casseroles. Lol hot dish made me laugh!! Love these recipes. Thank you.
Drain your grease-put several papertowels in it and take out with tongs. What a fun video you 2!
Ground beef is a main source of protein in our household so I’m always looking for more recipes. Thank you!!!
My favorite casserole is Tuna Noodle Casserole. Love you two so much, you make me laugh so hard.❤️
This is my husbands favorite dish I make. It is my very own chicken casserole.
cooked chicken breasts (I use 3), shredded
Pepperidge Farm dressing/stuffing in the blue package
cream of mushroom soup
cream of chicken soup
onions, chopped
chicken broth
shredded cheese
Mrs. Dash seasoning
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Put a layer of the dressing/stuffing in a 9x13 baking dish. Add the shredded chicken. Mix the soups together and put on top of the chicken. Add the chicken broth and Mrs. Dash seasoning. Add the cheese and onions. Then put another layer of the dressing/stuffing on top. Bake until hot. Watch it because the stuffing/dressing will burn.
I love the fact that you have so much fun cooking. The one thing you use to to absorb the oil from your pan is paper towels. I enjoy your recipes😊
Im from the midwest and we all call it casserole haha. When my mom had my little brother, someone brought us a casserole that was box stuffing mix, shredded chicken, and cheddar cheese and it it to this day one of my favorite comfort meals! Its dangerous for me haha
I bet that Cheesy Baked Tortellini would be good with some Italian sausage too. :) My favorite casserole is a Walking Taco Casserole
1 lb of hamburger meat
1 medium yellow onion, diced
2 (1-ounce) packets taco seasoning
1 (29-ounce) can pinto beans (no need to rinse or drain)
1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
2 cups shredded Mexican cheese
2 cups Fritos, plus additional for serving (we like the chili cheese ones)
For topping: diced green/red onion, tomato, shredded lettuce, more cheese, jalapeno, cilantro, sour cream, guacamole
Heat an oven-save skilet over medium. Add the hamburger meat, onion, and taco seasoning and cook, breaking up the meat as you go, 5-7 minutes, until the beef is no longer pink and the onions are soft.
Add the beans and tomato sauce and stir to combine. Bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low to maintain a simmer and cook for 10 minutes.
Preheat the broiler. Top the meat + beans with 1 1/2 cup of the shredded cheese, then the Fritos, then the remaining 1/2 cup cheese. Place under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, until the cheese is melted and beginning to brown. Top with your desired toppings and serve immediately, with additional toppings on the side. 🧀👍🏼❤️😋 That was a 13 cheese tortellini dish. The sauce had 4 cheese, the pasta had 5 cheese, plus the cream cheese, mozzarella , parmesan and Romano cheese.
Poor Mr. B , I could imagine Mrs. B's worry, I was worried just watching but couldn't help but laugh when the hair singed but thank God it was't worse. I laughed because you two laughed and Mrs. B's laugh is the best. Have a blessed night beautiful Bunky's
I love the music you play while making the recipes.😊
Tilt your pan and use tongs and paper towels dipping them in the pan to drain your grease. No burns no mess. You guys are awesome !!
I make pork chops, brown on both sides, but don't cook all the way. Make some stuffing according to instructions in a pan. Spray a casserole dish, put the stuffing down, the pork chops next, and a jar of chicken gravy or you can make a packet and pour it on top. 375 for 45 minutes.
Y’all are as funny as Lucy and Ethel! Love both of your channels.
My favorite TH-cam couple! I love watching you guys! And your recipes are so good! ❤️
Three teaspoons in a tablespoon Ms Jessica....FYI. Mr. Buckie please be careful ! Love watching you two. You are so funny 😅. Brightens up the day. Plus the yummy recipes is a bonus !! I don't always get to catch you but I try.
A casrolle is usually a one dish meal. And baked in the oven. Mr. Buckie described it well. Take care you two.
Thanks for brightening my day....you both are awesome!
I'm from Wisconsin and we say casserole and hot dish. My great GMA had a recipe for zucchini hot dish that my whole family loves. It's ground beef, a box of stuffing mix, cream of chicken soup, cheddar cheese, shredded zucchini. It's an amazing fall/winter dish that's very filling.
Sounds amazing!! What temp & for how long do u cook it at??
I get nervous anytime I see Bunky near a mandolin. They just don’t play well together.
6 c. Diced zucchini
1 med. Onion
1 box stuffing
1pd. Ground beef
1 c. Sharp cheddar
1 c. Sour cream
1 can cream of chicken
* heat oven to 350
Dice zucchini and onion
Cook stuffing according to box
Cook beef with onion until browned
Mix all other ingredients together
In 8x11 pan (sprayed) put 1/2 the stuffing on bottom of pan, pour zucchini mixturenon top, layer the last of the stuffing on top.
Bake 45 min. Uncovered
(If don't want red meat, can substitute with diced/rotisserie shredded chicken)
You two are such good entertainment! Instead of burning the hair on your hand, take a paper towel and a pair of tongs and soak up the grease in the pan😉
You guys are a hoot! I love watching you together ,and love the delicious meals you share with us!
I use the same recipe as your Taco and Bean Casserole (without the top cheese) , but... I roll it in tortillas. I cover them with enchilada sauce and then use cheese as topping. Makes enough for a crowd and very filling! Give it a try.
This is my favorite childhood dish. Funny thing I feel about tomatoes like you feel about onions except in this dish which used stewed tomatoes. Wierd right, I can eat them straight out of the can. We called this goulash but you know there a hundred of them.
So you need 1 pound of hamburger, penny, 1 can of tomato sauce, 1/2 can of tomato paste or the whole one if you like. Then I add 3 cans of stewed tomatoes. Sometimes the pieces are big so you could cut them once. Don't mash or blend because then you lose the taste. Then spice it up. I always put garlic powder and onion powder and tru lime which is a salt alternative and a little paprika. But you d you. Bake on the oven at 375 for 30 to 40 minutes. This was such a comfort food during a blizzard, yep I grew up in ND. Have a great week.
you two are a hoot together! i love you guys!
Love watching you and Bucky, Enjoyed your RV trips, Being from Kentucky we love visiting Paducah. My hubby loves that they don't try and destroy there old buildings, but restore,
I love watching y’all but..going to rewatch with my hubby. Y’all are laugh out loud funny!!😂😂🤣🤣❤️❤️
I just love vintage bunkey vlogs! They bring back so many memories.
Btw whatever happened to your three tier wall mirror? I loved it! Lol
Y’all two crack me up!!!! ❤ my favorite casserole is one my mom made and I make it now but its a bit complicated so it’s too much to put on here but it’s a baked chicken casserole made with chicken breast, cream of celery soup, cornbread and a lot more and we have it with rice, gravy and cranberry sauce!!!!! ❤
Haha, thank you 😆 🥰 and the recipe you mentioned sounds delicious!
@@jessicaodonohue it really is it’s just a lot of steps to get it right. Boiling your bone in breast, de bone the chicken, making the white cornbread (not yellow) cream of celery soup, broth from the chicken. Bread crumbs, rubbed sage, pepper, onion if you want it mix it all up and bake it covered at 400 for 30 minutes then 20 minutes uncovered.
@@jessicaodonohue hey, just so you know, some A**HAT is posing as you and saying that I won something...I reported the scammer, but wanted you to know
That sounds like chicken and cornbread dressing. ❤
@@callonthenameofjesus1459 yeah I think that is what it’s called and man is it good with some gravy and cranberry oh boy!!!!!
They have gloves that can protect your hands from a mandolin. I spent Thanksgiving afternoon in the ER after slicing the end of my finger off. They really didn’t do anything for it other than bandage it. It wouldn’t quit bleeding.
Favorite Casserole is Brenda Gant's cabbage Casserole. It's a side dish & soooooo good!!! Also my Mother's hamburger casserole that came from the back of a box of pasta or the side of a can, back in the early 1960's It is a ground beef & pasta dish. Super simple & delish!!!
Casserole is when three or more ingredients are use in a baking dish, also known as a hot dish ❤️❤️❤️
I’m dying here! Bunky needs to back away from the stove! 🤣😂❤️
love anything casserole, i love to cook and got away from with awhile. your giving me the inspirations to get back and to cooking, i also love baking. you guys are so cute together
Will be trying! Great idead for freezer meal
Your laugh is like a ray of sunshine! I laugh right along with you…every time!
I’m glad you’re so normal! I love you both! Btw I love your recipes too!
My family loves the Saucy Twist Pork Dish! It's super easy to make and takes about 40 mins total to bake!
My mom always makes a casserole with hamburger 1 can of Campbell's tomato soup an cr of mushroom, seasonings then she puts in either cooked pasta or cooked potatoes puts in oven with mozzarella for about 20 mins so good .
You guys are so cute together. Jessica, your laugh is infectious. These recipes look so delicious, I'll be trying them for sure. I've tried a few of your recipes already and they did not disappoint. DEFINITELY use the guard when using the mandolin. I didn't use the guard because I thought I had enough clearance before I got closer and cut my thumb so bad I thought I needed stitches, but didn't and it took a long time to heal because it was so deep. Now I use the guard all the time along with a glove that prevents cuts. I love how the mandolin cuts vegetables, but wish it was safer to use, well I guess it is if you use the guard right. LOL
Here is a tip on getting rid of your grease from cooking hamburger meat! Take a piece of aluminum foil shape it down into your drain in sink! Pour in grease in foil cup you made in drain. When it sets up just roll up n throw in trash!
Always use the guard😊when slicing anything
Thank you , you always make my day!😄 I was laughing so hard. Its a good day when the Bunkeys are cooking it up! Great recipes too.
I always love a new “Bunkey” video
😂 I was cracking up with your poor husband's mishaps! Glad he made it through the show!
You guys are absolutely the cutest
The ends of the radishes are called the tops and tails. When instructed to remove them in a recipe, it’s referred to as “topping and tailing” your radishes. And a great trick for draining the grease from the pan after browning up any meat (beef, sausage, etc.) is balling up a paper towel and use a pair of tongs to grab the ball, scoot the meat over to one side of the pan, tilt the pan slightly so the grease drains to the other side and just soak up the grease with the paper towel. I always get all the excess grease up this way and never even need to repeat with a second paper towel, but you certainly could if your meat was very fatty. I find this way less messy than trying to pour the excess grease out, and it’s way faster than trying to scoop it all out with a spoon too! This taco recipe looks awesome, and I can’t wait to try it out! Thanks for sharing all of these, you guys!
I am a parapro at our local school, watching this during classes and you guys are cracking me up. I am having to keep my laughter held inside (btw, very hard). Love this!!
I seen that mandolin and had flashbacks! My mother in law had gotten one and we were all standing around talking while I was slicing potatoes and bam almost sliced the tip of my pinky clean off but did slice it pretty good to where I needed stitches! Needless to say I fainted from the shock and my finger healed with a pretty good scar 😂
Mexican Chicken Casserole is my favorite. I could eat it every day.
So fun to see videos from your old kitchen! It makes me realize how many years I’ve been watching you two!
These recipes look so incredibly good Jessica! 😍
Such a great variety of flavors in each one!😘
I love casseroles and all the indepth flavors you get from them!😋
I just tried a recipe from another TH-camr and I added a couple of extra things to it.
Spaghetti and Meatball Casserole
Take a 9x13" casserole dish and put uncooked pasta in bottom of dish.
You can use spaghetti, penne or whatever you like or have on hand.
I used bowtie pasta. Then pour pasta sauce over the pasta.
Add 2 cups water and 2 cups of milk. Sprinkle garlic powder, Italian seasoning and salt over mixture. This is when I added a cup of cottage cheese.
Stir all the ingredients together and place meatballs on top in a single layer.
Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake 40 minutes at 350°.
Remove foil and cover with mozzarella and parmesan cheese and return to oven for 10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
I made this using frozen meatballs and it was so good. Using a jar of pasta sauce makes it so easy to make anytime.
And you don't have to precook the meat or pasta. And who doesn't have frozen meatballs in the freezer all the time!😚
Once you've made it, you can see if there's anything else you want to add.
After I made it, I told my friend about adding the cottage cheese and she loved it!
I love it when you bring us several recipes at a time! It's always fun to watch you two in the kitchen, especially when you show us great things to eat!😁
Thanks for sharing another great video!🥰
Cottage cheese and pineapple 😋
Stay safe. Hope you aren't in line of the storm.
Enjoyed this video.
Going to try all of these...one will be for dinner tonight....love all of your recepies and love your channel
Good morning you precious people love you too ,you make me laugh ❤️❤️🙏
Y'all are just so stinking cute!!! You could just sit in front of the camera and talk to each other and I would watch you!!! No matter what kind of day it's been, I always feel so great after watching you!!! You just radiate positivity an I love that! Thank you for always making my day!!!
Hi Jessica I think it is time for you both to start thinking about a cookbook with all the recipes you both have tweaked and found that it tastes exceptionally good with the tweaks. You could probably call it "Hanging out with the O'Donoghue's". I know it would be a really big project but I believe it's doable. Are you both up for the challenge? You may have to go way back to older episodes to compile it. You could also include some recipes from both of your parents that you really liked and have tweaked.
I would not include that typo in the title of a book but good idea.
Bunky is having a day like everyday for me in the kitchen
We just made the Korean Tacos, and HOLY COW!! They were amazing!! One of my all time favorite recipes!! Great job Bunkee’s!!
Send it on! We are actually watching your new episode right now!! 😂
Oh My! All of these look so delicious. I must try the Ree Drummond casserole for sure! Thanks for Sharing
Add ginger! Dorota brand makes it in tiny cubes you keep in freezer. Easy! Trader Joe’s Carrys it and lots of stores.
One of my all time favorite casseroles is thanksgiving leftover casserole.
Mix all your leftovers with some gravy and top it with cheese and bake.
I love chicken and dumpling casserole. I make it several times a year. Also, Chicken Divan. 😀 Thank you for the recipe ideas!
A stick to your ribs meal B that's what I think of a casserole as...Jess your laugh is contagious and B's response is hilarious he's so dry humored.. .lol
My favorite casserole has to be chicken and wild rice casserole. We always used Paula Deen's recipe. It's the one with the pimentos, green beans, water chestnuts, etc. It is absolutely delicious!!!
Our favorite casserole is Zucchini Mozzarella Casserole. It is so simple and so delicious
We call the pioneer women’s recipe cheesy beef casserole and it’s delicious!!
Just add a little cucumber a little radish with a touch of bunky 😂.. My favorite casserole is when I take sliced potatoes and kielbasa & cheese layered in a pan then you take a cup of milk mixed with two Tablespoons of flour and pour over bake at 350 for 45 min it’s so good
So happy to see you all so happy. It's contagious!
Also your skin Mr & Mrs. Bunkie looks so smooth.
Tuna noodle casserole! Here in the Pacific Northwest we never call it hot dish, we always call it casserole and the tuna noodle casserole variety is my grandmother's favorite Sunday Stand By.
Get a cut proof glove to use with the mandolin. Much less clunky than using the guard.
Y’all are fun! So happy to see a new video!❤🙏✨ thank you for sharing your evening❤
Best casserole = green bean casserole 😊also is this a precious video? Where’s the caraway pan!?
😂😂❤❤.. Y'all are just too cute together. It looked like Y'all were having a ball during this video. The recipes posted look so good and simple prep. No worries... I will remember to use the guard on my mandolin 😮😂😊😅❤.
Love love love Bunkys tshirt--- Dutton Ranch!!!. & love ya both!!!
YOU GUYS I am crying here with laughter....I did the same thing when I bought that mandolin.....I'm sorry but I truly love watching your channel Ive also burnt my hand the same way BE CAREFUL and God Bless you BOTH
I use a knife proof glove on my old mandolin. It was made before safety guards. Fortunately I never cut myself before I got the glove
Thanks!
You are so sweet! Thank you!!🧡
Maid Rite Sandwiches. Google the recipe. It is sometimes called a tavern sandwich.
I just came across y’all in you tube and let me just say I just spit my sweet tea across my office!!😂. Between the cut finger to the hair singe. I laughed sooooo hard. Y’all remind me of my husband and myself. We absolutely love to cook together and yes he makes me laugh. I’m loving y’all’s channel. Thank you for making my day and thanks for the great recipes too.
You two are so darn fun together, I love watching you❤❤❤😂😂😂
A casserole is just a one dish meal in my opinion. Growing up my Grandmother made a macaroni casserole and my Mom always made Squash casserole, Broccoli Casserole and after Thanksgiving she made a Turkey and stuffing casserole. We grew up on casseroles. I recently came across a homemade chili Mac casserole recipe that you top with cornbread, think I’m going to try that 😋
You are correct! Up here in Minnesota we call it a hot dish and cook it in a casserole pan, but it is most definitely a Hot dish . . . us Minnesotans take this very seriously! 😜 Also, when Mr. B cut himself after your warning I about lost it! Thanks for the laughs!
I 100% agree with @jillsipocz3582 on their description of what a casserole is!! I've lived in Alaska for 57 (of 61) yrs and I've always called them "Casseroles", not "hot dishes" but have heard it called that before. Love u two and ur pure joy in being with each other!!♥️♥️♥️
I loved this video way back when and it’s even better now hahaha y’all are the best!
