I used to think I was healthy because I ate a lot of fruit. It became a problem for me because I would eat bowls and bowls of cherries and grapes. I became pre-diabetic . I have been doing keto now for 5 years. I understand now what was driving my fruit cravings.

We know it's fructose causing most of the metabolic problems. Richard Johnson's research clearly shows fructose is nature's metabolism changing and fat gaining nutrient. This is why fruit and fructose taste so good and is addicting. You are supposed to eat as much fruit as possible during the fall, because the extra fat you gain could mean the difference between starving to death and surviving the winter. These days, we are eating extracted fructose year round preparing for a famine that is never going to come... Basically all animals react to fructose in some manner or another. We survived, just like millions of other animal species due to the survival benefits of fructose... I am not a medical doctor, or even a college degree, but I explain everything Gary talks about here basically verbatim in my book, Cavemen Weren't Fat...I'm amazed how Gary basically came to the exact same conclusions I did, even though he is a trained medical professional, and I'm a college drop out musician...
The rusty iron filings and seed oil combination is worse, IMHO. I bet that the damage these toxic rusty iron filings and reactive seed oils do includes damaging fructose metabolism, among many other things. There is no doubt in my mind that quality animal meat, nose-to-tail, is the most nutritious way to eat. Quality meats and organs in a proper balance are the true super foods! HFCS is a copper blocking bio-weapon. Quality fruit ingestion should be tied to a higher activity level, unless your glucose metabolism is already compromised. Eating higher carb foods, even glucose based sources, when you are sedentary.

Of course, some is absorbed into the bloodstream and so if you eat a lot of whole fruit it can be a problem. I eat 1 small apple a day and a handful of berries. That amount is ok, but not much more than that.

Since then I have significantly decreased my fruit intake although I do eat a handful of fresh blueberries daily, which is fine because they have a low glycemic index, high in fiber (berries in general are this) and high in antioxidants and sometimes also a few raspberries....but not bowls and bowls of them. Once every 2 months I will treat myself to a fresh mango and then also every 2 months will eat 1 banana a day for 3-4 days. I live in Michigan and once strawberries are in season here locally this summer I will not hold back on eating those (we pick them ourselves).
Mostly carnivore a while back bought frozen strawberries and Blueberries for special treat added cream stated out once a day then went to 3 times a day so now I do not buy them make me hungry lol

white table sugar is 99% sucrose. Previos poster is correct Sucrose is a disaccharide. It is a glucose and fructose molecule. Glucose is used directly by the body fructose is not it goes to the liver. High fructose corn syrup is in 2 common concentrations based on the dry weight of product in the syrup. hfcs 42 is 42% fructose 58 glucose it’s used in baking industry mostly and hfcs 55 fructose its 45% glucose.
If God created all that nature has to offer, fruit 🍌 and vegetables 🥦, then how did they all of a sudden become so bad for you? Also, how do people in other countries fare better compared to developed countries?
If you eat un cultured fruits they are not sweet the way commercial fruit is. You wouldnt even recognise what bananas were originally in nature before we started selectively cultivating the .

Table sugar is sucrose, a disaccharide. Fruit fructose is a monosaccharide just like glucose. All sugar.
