HA! Sold me. Came here because I'm a huge Breedlove fan and looking for a Concertina. Put in a bid on Reverb after listening to you, but still gonna buy if they decline my offer. You sound great. I could listen to you on a drive through the mountains!
I love 12 fret guitars. Being over 70 and having had a bad fall in 2014 the 12 frets are more comfortable for me to play. Well play as well as I can ?? What a beautiful voice !!!! You are an a mazing artist !!! Thank you.
Watched your video & it only took me one time to realize it's a no-brainer. AMS is having one of their "no credit check" deals on certain guitars. This was one of them! Mine arrives Thursday. I've been wanting a parlour guitar & your video kicked me off the fence! I also applaud Breedlove for their of our environment. It makes this guitar even more special. Thank you!
Best demo of the Concertina available. Nice playing, nice production, nice songs, nice singing, cool artist. Excellent. Just bought one for my singer/songwriter grand daughter who could use a modest, good sounding instrument. Impressive in your hands.
ahhh thanks for this, and I agree you can’t go wrong with a concertina. I like the smaller body to write with daily, and it ends up being hard to put down. Cheers!
Yes purdy. I had 2 nylon string breadloves (discovery n solo) they both needed a good amount of bridge filing but are each nice in their own way. Im really thinking about a steel string breedlove and that one seems great
@@TravisShallow sub'd now! You're a very talented musician, and I hope to be able to sing and play with the ease you have one day! #25yearsawayfromguitar
Came here for the concertina review (ordered it by accident instead of the concert) was enjoying your expressions while strumming and was blown away by your singing. I am thinking I will love this concertina (myrtle wood). Thanks for some truly great music this evening!
Ahh man thanks for posting this. My concertina has become my go-to guitar for playing and writing at home. The small body makes it comfortable for long sessions, while not sacrificing tone (in my opinion). It records well also, no over exaggerated low end that needs to be eq'd out like most dreadnoughts. Fingerpicking stiff really translates for me, but it can handle digging in too. Let me know how you like it when it arrives. cheers
@@TravisShallow got my pursuit exotic concertina and it’s stunning visually and sound wise. Probably the best mistake I’ve ever made lol. It’s a little stiff as I like to bend a lot playing blues, hopefully that can be broken in. Had to watch your video again. Those first two songs are SO GOOD!
I ordered my own OSC and received it yesterday. I couldn’t be more pleased. There’s few options around $500 that will get you all solid wood and a bone nut and saddle. Exceeded my expectations. Thanks for your review, Travis.
@@jaredcaldera just a little reverb, and a hi-pass at about 80 hertz. Just a good balanced guitar through that TLM 102. Link to exact mic in the description below if you wanna check it out.
Hi Travis. First time listener.👍 Could you share what woods were used in your Concertina. If the volume of that guitar I'm hearing through my headphones is accurate to what you are hearing in studio, then it is simply amazing volume from such a small guitar.
I have a dreadnaught Stage series model from Breedlove that they don’t make anymore that’s my main stage guitar, and then I have a Premiere Concerto that I really like from them, but no real concert body.
@@TravisShallow Thanks for the reply! I ended up getting this model in the concert size and it's perfect! Smaller than a dread or my grand auditoriums.
Hey, man. 4 months later, how are you still digging the Concertina? I just played a myrtlewood cutaway companion in a store yesterday and was blown away, after comparing it with a Taylor GS Mini.
Can barely put it down, and it records really well and balanced too. I wanna get my hands on a Myrtlewood to try out too. But yea, the concertina isn’t going anywhere.
@@TravisShallow I actually spent more time checking out smaller-bodied guitars locally, including a Concertina just like yours. But, after much consideration, I ended up happily taking home a gorgeous Teton parlor guitar, and it just sings.
Recently had the chance to play 3 different Concertinas in a local GC. Love the sound and playability, but just couldn't buy one......2 of the 3 I played, the bridge was lifting up on the high e side. When I mentioned that to the staff, they offered me a discount, but it sounds like they had no intention to send them back to Breedlove. But for me it was a matter of simple math....2 of the 3 had bridge issues, if it was only 1 of the 3, I would have just chalked that up to 1 bad one, but 2 of 3......the odds are not good for the 3rd one for me to take the chance.
Great video! How's the size of this compare to a parlor, if you've got one? I've checked some dimensions for parlor size guitars and it looks like overall lengthwise, the Concertina is about the same, but has got the obviously wider lower bout.
Your read on it is pretty accurate - it’s parlor-ish but it has a bigger low end than a normal sized parlor. This one is nice and balanced and records really well. Nice little 12 fretter to have in the arsenal.
@@robertlennon6923 up to you, mine came with lights and it had enough low end for me, but I usually string up my acoustics with mediums... but I’ve kept this one like it came out of the box and super happy with how it plays and records.
Great video, Travis! I also just found my way here while searching for reviews of this guitar. Isn’t this one of the Concertina guitars with solid mahogany back and sides? Keep the vids coming. Sounded great.
Hi from the UK. I’ve been looking at the exact same model over here and wondered how you found the action out of the box. I like mine pretty low. Thanks if you can answer👍
Action right out of the box was great for me, I didn’t need to make any adjustments. It could be lowered just a hair but it’s really comfortable as is. I barely put this guitar down.
This particular guitar sounds much fuller when strummed vs other videos I’ve seen on it. Did you tweak EQ in post production? Heavier strings? How’s the sound compared to natural/no mic?
Hey, on this video, that’s the sound out of the box. No post eq done, I actually have a hi-pass on the acoustic mic at 100 hertz I believe when I’m live-streaming. It’s not the same low end compared to a dreadnaught or a convert body, but for its size I was really impressed how full and balanced it is.
I gotta ask....does breedlove sent you the imported models or are the guitars you guys get the same model but made by master luthiers up at the Oregon shop?

Thanks for listening Stan, cheers
Just bought a organic signature concert the other day and mine has tortoise binding instead of black plastic like normal so that was a cool addition!
ahh very cool, congrats on the new addition. Love my signature series concertina.
Hello again, Travis. I’m wondering if you’ve had the opportunity to try a variety of strings on the Concertina. What have you settled on?
Daddario phosphor bronze mediums or Elixir Nanoweb mediums seem to be the sweet spot.
This thing sounds amazing
Agreed!
What effects did you add to the guitar mic? Asking cos it sounds so good. Thanks!
