Nile talks about lab safety (Chemistry is Dangerous): • Chemistry is dangerous.
You can still pick up tickets by going to opensauce.com and I hope to see you there!
balls
Why San Francisco in particular to have the event? That city has become complete garbage.
@@IHopeYoureOffended69 tell me you've never been to SF without telling me you've never been
@@IHopeYoureOffended69you could say the same about most other big cities
I wonder how many cars will be broken into at the event in San Fransisco.
Congratulations Nile, you now officially reached university lab status; messy, hap-hazard, and random stuff everywhere!
I mean, it's better than the garage was
What’s the point of this channel now? How can I afford to go to your convention when you spend it all on yourself?
You mean reinvest to continue to entertain us.
Bro has better equipment that my university 💀💀💀
@scottpageusmc WOW what a cunt of a reply, who diddled you as a kid to be shitting on people like that dawg?
Nile, your space has a whole z-axis for you to explore
I think he's busy filling up the t-axis first.
@@PSUQDPICHQIEIWCI don’t get the joke.
@@Fluffy56547s time
wouldn't it be the Y axis?
@@zixvirzjghamn737 not in the 3d printing zoomer epoch
nile does not make profit from youtube, it just goes into buying more machines.
He actually loses money
Big machine (corp) is making big bucks off of mr-red/blue\extra
thats called investing
And it's called reinvesting and it's tax free!
Not for niles case tbh, who would buy 6000dollars candy shaper for a video for investment lol, probably could have rented from a candy store etc @@drobotk
Let's count them:
1) Hydrogen generator
2) Aerogel pressure chamber
3) Vacuum furnace
4) Glove box
5) Gold furnace inside the glovebox
6) Unspecified coil of metal
7) A giant dewar
8) Hydrostatic press
9) Table saw
10) Air compressor
11) Dry ice machine
12) whatever that giant thing is at 0:55
13) Arc furnace
14) Tig welder
15) Tube furnace
16) Freeze dryer
And probably a lot more.
Edit
17) Robotic arm
18) gigantic electromagnet
19) NMR and MS machines
And let's not forget the biggest tool in the shop, MR red.
And what looks to be a robotic arm on one of the benches.
the large piece of equipment at 0:55 is an electromagnet and the water cooling apparatus to cool it down.
@@52Ford Yep that is a universal robotics either UR5e or UR3e robot arm... have one in my lab. they are NOT very cheap!!!
yep. the man has literally everything needed to make custom NdFeB/SmCo magnets at an industrial level and he's probably going to make maybe five total for a video and never go into production. There's easily $100,000 of machinery viewable right now.
Nile's lab more expensive than a DAMN CHEM SCHOOL LAB
That's a pretty low bar to be fair. Working with analog oscilloscope with burned-in CRTs when numeric oscilloscope are available for cheap, checking in !
Yea, does TH-cam really give him enough money to afford it?
@@edman007x absolutely. guy makes bank.
My university chem professor’s lab didn’t have any of this stuff.
@@edman007x he has patreon and his vids get lots of views + i forgot if he has sponsers, but consistent millions of views is worth a lot to sponsers
Was expecting Nile to just whip out a minigun out from a cupboard
.. and shoot the machines? Like a "machine-gun"?
0:13 Bro is definitly gonna win the thingamajig and doohickey competition
It's the aerogel-making pressure chamber, now repurposed for something else!
@@nikolaysitnikov796 I thought that's what it was (I've watched that video a few times and did a school project on aerogel)
I love the giant unnamed contraption, it's one of the most useful machines I've ever seen in a lab. My university's lab got so more productive after they got it!
So what is it
Isn't that just a water distiller?
@@jankokuu Giant unnamed contraption. The name's right there.
Seriously? All those crazy gadgets and machines, yet you're most proud of the metal disk that bounces things? You're just like Professor Farnsworth - inventor of the "what if?" machine, the "smell-o-scope", an intergalactic space ship, yet who's most proud of his drawer containing assorted lengths of wire.
My arc furnace? It’s cool I guess… it’s just not very long…
Don’t forget the fingerlonger
Beat me to it 🥲
Haha, wiiiire
It's like owning many many useful things, but out of all of them your favorite is the one that is utterly useless and only does one thing, which is flip the switch back off when you turn it on.
"more machines are coming"
Terminator theme starts playing
Wait until Nile reveals he joined the Adeptus Mechanicus
why am I hearing boss music Terraria meme.jpg
My man is ready to create that element that Tony Stark was talking about
HE'S GOT DOERS, HE'S GOT DON'TERS. AT NILE'S EMPORIUM IF HE DOESNT HAVE IT, HE'LL BUY IT SOON.
This gave me Interdimensional TV commercial vibes
This is the same energy as having a project car, getting parts and tools, and another project car.
It looks as if Nile found the ISS somewhere at a landfill and gradually brought it all to his lab.
"Unnamed project" sure looks like a supercritical chamber for aerogel. Now I gotta figure out what else those are used for...
He already did aerogel. Applied Science gave NileRed the rig he made a few years back. So, now I'm confused about what he's gonna do next.
@@verdatum But did they give him Portal tech
@@arran4285 Unfortunately no. Just a few tons of moon dust and a crate of lemons for some reason.
He said he's going to make magnets.
I think those disks are for it.
Only nile red could make a simple tour in a chem lab into the workings of a mad scientist documentary
I believe everything on the video is for neodymium magnets! I can't believe that you've build an actual melt spinning in your glovebox! Your lab is like a dream
1:24 Nile?? Are we experimenting with urine again??? Kinda looks like it lol
"That? Oh, we don't talk about that..."
they dont call him 'piss chemist' for nothing
My money is on soap. Looks like unredacted oil floating on top
@@gamemeister27 - Soap from urine ?
I'm so absolutely shocked they didn't still have the pony encased in "that"
Its gonna be pretty rad when we get some videos out of this in 2026
can't wait for the copper paper project
i mean toilet copper
copper toilet paper?
maybe just use a brillo pad?
I want a docu-series that follows Nile as he procures new materials and equipment and explains it to his landlord and the international government regulators.
Nile, blink twice if William Osman is holding you hostage
what if he blinks thrice ?
@@EverDarkness147 he's holding William Osman hostage
“This beautiful contraption,” *casually slaps the contraption*
Nice to see the project is coming along nicely. Don't forget to show us the UF6 centrifuge when it arrives!
that must be extremely expensive i can only imagine haha
3:06 You should definitely just ask some random participant you know that has a lathe and is going to opensauce to turn a handful of those steel bases for you, or even ask multiple people to handle one each. It's not like they're that big or turning a cylinder to a certain height and diameter is that complex, unless the bases are made of an ultra rare vanadium titanium steel alloy damascened in a proprietary process with an even rarer and more expensive alloy that replaces the carbon content with Copper(IIII) hyper-fluorite or some such.
I'll see you at Open Sauce!!!!!
My jaw droped to the floor when I realized what you were about to demonstrate at 1:29. I showed one video about it to my sudents few months ago when I was teaching the principle of energy conservation. I can't wait for your video and I need to see how you cooled the alloy fast enough.
The chemistry without all this fancy equipment was already an experience. Looking forward to seeing what curios, inventions and health-hazards all this fancy equipment will allow for!
"More machines are coming"
-last words of a soldier fighting an army of AI robots
I appreciate the random UR robot just sitting on a bench in the corner.
Vacuum furnaces are also awesome.
Your demo at Open Sauce should just be you tasting random chemicals.
honesty i wish i had a lab like that in the future, id say thats not enough machines
0:44 the existence of the giant dewer implies the existence of an even smaller, don’ter.
Video doesn't even mention the NMR and FT-IR spectrographs that I know he's got floating around from earlier videos
This is like rick and morty garage with some cool science stuff
His lab reminds me of my Redstone testing world
I feel like he has all the resources to become a supervillian, but is too chill to do so.
If you start Vengaboys "Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom" music video at the same time NileRed shoots the first burst of air, it is quite a lovely pairing. The timing is hilarious.
The coolest thing is that we never see those messy stuff in other video's background. As if Nile move them around just to get the clean background to shot at that specific angle.
I can't help but notice you have really high ceilings. Could always build a platform/loft in some areas for more storage so you have more space for more machines :D
Wow! So much amazing lab equipment. Nile needs a lab assistant to help clean and organize his lab.
man what I would give to play in that lab, I see so many machines that could be adapted to my hobbies so easily.
You've turned to physics! :D
Will be interresting to see what you'll suspend in that large electro magnet.
NileRed playing modded minecraft on his own server IRL
Suffering the plight of all playthroughs... machine sprawl
I don't know what most of this lab equipment is but watching Nile run around and point it out so excitedly makes me happy
Arc furnace? So he's got the latest Stellaris dlc.
This is like when I went into 3D printing, so many new things made
I had that same glovebox and oven at work in my lab lol. Fond memories of cooking things and packaging test scintillators for gamma and neutron detection.
"Let me show you where i keep various lengths of wire" -Nile in the role of professor Hubert Farnsworth
If a scientist lab isn't a chaotic mess it's not a science lab. What's even more humorous is you know exactly where everything is despite the mess
THE LABORATORY
bro is one vat of acid away from becoming a mad scientist
More machines than the unused appliances at our grandparents' house.
Still looking forward to the video where you make nitric acid from the birkeland eyde process.
Nile's offspring 50+ years from now would either have a field day or a garage sale with all these machines
My bedroom 0.0045 seconds after i clean it ☠️:
Now I want to see all of that machines put in use
Drop the ball bearing on to borosilicate glass as well. It's surprisingly bouncy
Your shop is really shaping up exactly like my dream workshop. Wow there is some serious gear there.
Next nile red video: "I didn't like how steel wasn't bouncy enough"
A vacuum furnace? I'm so jealous
Hopefully you got good security cameras and anti-fire systems. Besides that, looks like alot of fun actually.
Nigel if you can't bring the cool things youre excited about, you can always put on the next cool thing, your gold grillz.
CRYO-GAS-GUN thing you showed was pretty damn cool
Seeing your lab grow over the years has been very cool. This is actually becoming insane though - keep it up 👍
Stoked to see the neodymium iron boron video when it finally drops.
He's either going to be a future mad scientist or the guy who comes up with all the future resistance's tech equipment.
Honestly i have learned more from u than all my 12 years of school chemistry physics biology and every other science subject in a few hours
Of course after i learned enough to understand you. Honestly love ur videos
There is no such thing as having too many machines.
I love what this kid is doing and the way that he's doing it.
The guy is a real life Dexter's Labratory now. This is an entire chemistry lab, fully equipped, just for him to mess around with stuff on TH-cam.
It makes me so happy the Nigel has money for all these toy now. I can think of no one more deserving.
Hopefully there is a video coming for every one of those contraptions!
Nigel please, just get like a liter of capsaicin diluted in vodka and give people samples
I'm actually happy to see he's working on videos😂
Nice custom melt spinner you have in your glove box. I did my PhD on melt spinning iron based amorphous alloys. If you are every looking for some tips or guidance just reach out.
You should bring them anyway -- some of us have more than enough scrap stainless in that diameter or larger!
I can no wait for all the vids to come out
Looks like a pressure vessel for some sorta supercritical fluid experiment
i like how the "glove box" sounds like the trunk of a car opening
I used to watch dexter's laboratory growing up, now I watch nilered
He makes me wanna clean the lab or atleast organize it a bit better 😭 but I was already told by multiple lab partners that I am like a mother in the lab and just wanna make sure there are a minimum amount of hazards around… Still the lab looks like so much fun
Rick's origin story. The box of timetravelstuff hasn't been put together yet.
I was waiting for the "and here's where we're trying to make tri-mix gas for a future collab with a certain failed mythbuster"
Moral of the story: NileRed has enough patrons.
Now he is the mad scientist from a movie. Love it.
Nile reminds me of the friend I wanted in high-school that I was to dumb to keep up with... maybe more capable now... after 20 years
If Nile’s next video isn’t him creating an arc reactor, I’m going to be very disappointed.
Make more main channel vids for us plz we love your science vids!
Ohhh so he’s got things going on I see, I mean he’s even got a doer that can hold a doer, what more can you ask for
Remember when we watched this guy do chemistry videos from his parent's basement/laneway... how time flies.
If San Francisco wasn't so freaking far away...
This is a Minecraft home tour of someone who installs every mod.
A ball bearing on a marble floor would be close, ie, similar coef of restitution.
I cant wait for the next project after seeing the new machines
in this case i'm scared of anyone letting him cook
He is confirming the growing feeling I have developed more and more over.the years whenever he introduced another one. Too fing many
We are going to see these videos in the B-Roll of a documentary about a chemical terrorist attack.
