$400 Amazon eBike 1000 Mile review: • Does This Cheap Amazon...
The Ridstar Q20 is one of the best value eBikes I've ever been on! 30+ MPH and over 30 miles of range all for around $1000.
Links above may be affiliate links, And when you purchase through them, I earn a commission. This is no extra cost to you, And helps support the channel so I can get new bikes for review for you.
I just got my Ridstar 1000/48/20... no words for it... im so happy i got it.... all i want to do is just ride it. And it looks so beautiful!!!!!
Glad you’re liking it 💪🏽
Have you confirmed the onboard speedometer with your phone GPS app yet?
Are you still using it? Does it still work
Nobody cares
I'm wondering if the 1500watt will go faster then the 1000watt
Just bought mine and im waiting for it to get here. Thanks for the vid, it confirmed that i made a good purchase. Gonna be using it to commute to work
I think you’ll like it a lot for commuting
what is your opinion after 6 months? i just got it and im thinking to buy it.
Update?
could u potentionally fit another person or a kid behind the person driving
@@mirzabaig1989yes you can me and my friend ride on one together and we are around 5,11 165 and 5,9 130
The brake noise you hear is the pads scraping the rotor. It will disappear after a few more miles of wear-in.
You can use a rubber strip as a shim in between the handlebar and mount to get the phone holder to secure better.
I have this model and I’m happy with it. It tops out around 27mph but that’s plenty fast for a bike. The low end torque is great on grassy trails and mild off road. It also climbs hills really quite well. I’m 6’1” and 180lbs
I have the Q20 aswell, got it for 940 USD, have gone 500 miles so far and topspeed is 31,5 mph being 5'9 145lbs.
I agree with the low-end torque, wheelies is doable sitting far back for me.
@@Devou1swould this bike go faster for me if I’m 5”7 128lbs?
@@B7litz Probably a bit yes, but don't expect anything major.
@Devou1s do you know what the max range you can travel in one charge is ?
@@Devou1s you think I should get the amyet s8 instead? Dual motor 48v 25ah battery
If you change tire size in the setting. You get get 5-10 extra mph! Your welcome. Change it to higher number then default! Ex. 16 -> 20 or 14 -> 19 (Don't go higher speed for longer then 30 minutes, your MOTOR and CONTROLLER will OVERHEAT and die)
Change it to what?
@@minds5how
Did you confirm with a GPS that it's actually adding miles per hour and not just making the onboard speedometer read higher than what it's really going?
good question! I'm not sure, when i wrote the bike to my school I was catching up with other car's, meaning i was going 34 to 35 mph.@@jeffescortlx
I tried that with my folding Fat tire, same display as this, it will change ur speed yes on the speedometer, but that's just the numbers, it won't actually go any faster. Unfortunately
I just purchased one on July 7th and got it on July 11th speedee delivery everything in the box easy assembly bike is exactly what they said it was highly recommend this bike
Good to hear! Probably gonna order one in a couple days. Only thing holding me back is trying to find something woth all the same festure for the same price and a legit cant. I either end up finding out that the alternative Im looking at doesnt have hydrolic brakes, or not both front and back suspension...etc
@@AsthmaticDabber423 I spent about 3 months looking in marketplace$1,000 delivered is about as cheap as you're going to find and the quality of the bike is pretty nice only maintenance I see is keeping it indoors or keeping it under a wrap at night keep it clean
@@AsthmaticDabber423i wanna buy a ebike but my neighborhood has a ton of huge hills
I've owned this model for a month. And I have one major issue with it, mine refuses to go over 26 mph no matter what the settings are set to.
I would recommend to verify your onboard speedometer with a GPS app on your phone. With mine when it says it's going 28 mph it's only really going 26. I've reached out to the manufacturer and they made some changes, later shipments are getting a weaker motor/controller. Early releases could actually reach a real 30 mph.
I’ve gotten 30mph out of mine and I just received it last week. GPS and Speedo read about the same
@@ampedcycleyou got one of the good ones. On Rich Solutions channel there are a few other people that have noted in the comments that they can't get 30 mph out of it. There's are a few of us that have listed the motor part number used, and none of us got the same part number. They seem to just use whatever random motor they happen to come across.
So, we're just screwed? 😮
My max so far is 24 with the wheel set at 23.0 inches and 100%, verified with a cool GPS speedometer app.
Is there a parameter I'm missing?
🫤
@@markcinco8405as long as you're set to pedal assist five I believe it maxes the speed out. You can dig deep into the settings and increase the current limiter from 15 amps to 20 amps, but when I did that I didn't notice it making a difference. I've been in contact with the manufacturer through the email address that's in the owner's manual. They promised to send me a different motor and controller. I have a tracking number but it's not here yet.
@@markcinco8405i think its p14 maybe but standard is 15, change it to 20. Its your controller setting.
Props on going through quickly showing how to assemble the bike. Heavily considering buying it as my commuter to work.
By work I’m assuming you mean chasing people? If so, I’d be terrified of being chased by Michael Myers on an e-bike
I didn't like the way I had to lean forward so I rotated the gooseneck back to the way it came and it is much more comfortable. 😊
Yeah I had the Jasion EB5 plus to begin with. When I got my OUXI V8 it was like night and day. The Ouxi is so much more fun than the Jaison. Went from 18.6mph to 28mph.
I had a similar style bike-if you can afford to,get the dual battery version, these units drain battery quickly.
i have a question if u dont mind me asking, Can you give me the link for the air pump u used to inflate the tires and is it on amazon i hope
I don’t think they sell the one I have any more, but if you search battery tire inflator on Amazon there’s plenty of options
Hold plus and min for couple seconds and go to po8 for the speed setting
FYI, I just bought this bike on Amazon shipped to my house for a little under 900.00$

I have peddled up that bridge a bunch of times. It is much steeper than it looks.
How stable is it on speed? I was thinking of buying one and change it to 72v.
Does it have assist, and an full-electric mode?
Yea
How do you unlock the max speed?
Can you pick this up and take carry it up to your flat? Is it too heavy for that?
I actually did carry it up stairs for a little while. It was a pain in the ass though and wouldn’t recommend it unless you have maybe one small flight of stairs
I just got mine yesterday, and I live where Hill is common but this thing goes over all of them and the phone holder they gave u 3m tap with a rubber use it 😂😂😂
How much incline are the hills? I have some that are almost straight up.... TY
Did it come from China? and how log did it take to arrive?
They are down to $840 on amazon
Plus 300$ shipping
Changing the tire size doesn’t actually make it faster, i tested all the settings, 28-31 max speed depending on weight. You actually are better off buying a regular bicycle and making it electric if you’re looking for cheap. Making the q20 go faster will require modifications to the bike
I bought an ebike for 430 and it works awesome no scam it is perfect for me
Do you happen to know what size the bolt and washer are for the front tire? Mine somehow fell off and I can’t seem to figure it out.
Can the battery be locked to the bike?? or do u have bring it inside with you when u go someplace??
You can take it off and charge it inside.I recommend you do that if you live in a cold weather climate in winter.
@@cahg3871 What about hot weather cause I'm thinking of buying this, but right now where I live it gets to like 80 degrees F rn
If you don't mind me asking, how tall are you? I'm 6'2 and unsure if this is too small for me
Whats the range off pure throttle?
Around 25-30+ miles depending on conditions
Is this PR ?
Would you say that a full face helmet is unnecessary for this bike?
It’s 700$ now is it worth getting?
very worth. i just got mine and it is insanely fun to ride around in my city. brakes on it are spot on and the speed is perfect for its price.

Hey man, great vid. How tall are you? I'm 6 foot 6 and worried this will be too small for me
is it reliable for everyday use?
I have over 600 miles on it and no issues
This is great, thank you for the video! Very well done too 👍 I am looking into this bike, do you think it could handle Canadian winter? Haha we do have bike lanes but still.. my other concern is it’s weight as I’d have to carry it two flights of stairs each time I use it.. down and than back up. It seems more compact than the traditional computer bicycle which is good.. but is it 10 times heavier?
I think the Canadian winter will be pretty hard on it. That battery will lose a lot of performance below freezing. I live in northern Illinois, and we have harsh winters too. I haven’t ridden in anything under 40 degrees f, and even then my range takes a hit. As far as taking it up and down stairs, I did that with mine for a few weeks and I decided to rent a garage in my apartment building. It’s doable, but I wouldn’t want to be doing it every day. Only a matter of time until an accident at that point.
@@ampedcycle Thank you for sharing your experience and thoughts. i guess its not for me in that case. still very cool looking bike
BTW, they have different power level options actually allowing for a $900 dollar purchase.

Nice vid! What is the seat height of the seat? Thx

I’m just wondering, does your pedal assist kick in when you start peddling because I’ve changed all my settings to where they should be even changed where you can have pedal assist and pedaling, but it doesn’t seem to really kick in too much when you start to pedal but it seems like you have to give it throttle to even get it going and when you let off the throttle and you are peddling it slows down, so it doesn’t keep up with the pedal assist
Mine gradually comes on for some reason. I don’t use it much so I don’t mind, but if you need to pedal and get power quick and you’re in a high gear, you might have to switch gears
@@ampedcycle yeah I figured out mine comes on but it takes like 20 seconds. You have to really get going before it actually kicks in which I don’t really like that but I do like the Bike and it’s fun so not everything is perfect. I think I’m just used to my other bike because it just has so much torque instantly
Do u need to replace the tires on these e-bikes
Yes

Not bad, just less range
Where, and how could i install a rack, to mount a Sony ULT 7? 😅😅😅
ive been looking into it for a week already making sure the laws around me aren't restricting and now im waiting to just have the money😭
Im torn between this and the Amyet G60.....the G60 has a 1500w peak 25ah battery and turn signals...The Ridstar Q20 has hydraulic brakes....
Depends on how you’ll be riding. On the street turn signals are nice, but imo hydraulic brakes are a must have for bikes that can go over 20mph
@@ampedcycleI mainly ride on the street and I love night riding so the turn signals are pretty dope. Also the G60 comes unlocked with a 28amp controller so basically you just need a 52v or 60v battery to crack 45mph or so
@@ampedcycleI think the Q20 caps you at 22 amps
