- Join me as I dust off these legs for a 2 day ascent of Mt. Shasta via the Bolam Glacier. Conditions were about as good as they get which, unfortunately, does not make for a nail-biting video. Still, I hoped that one of us would fall into a crevasse. Maybe next time.

“Heavy as crap”... 😆 good one!
"And, I think we're having a great time." Well, that's good. I'm glad you think so. 😂
Another great video! Thanks!
Love what you guys are doing awesome video
Love it, great video!
The views are absolutely spectacular
Looks like a great couple of days! Thanks for another good video. I'll add this route to my 'to-do list' :)
Friggin’ awesome!
That looks like some tough hiking. But the scenery is incredible!! Looks like a lot of fun on the way down 😁👍
Awesome to see!
Another epic adventure! Thanks for sharing.
You bet!
Another amazing vid man. Keep it up bro 🤙
great video
Nice, thanks for the unusual climb. It's not what we usually see.
So scenic! Sick views though in that vid! I haven't had that luck with the weather here in WA. Attempted to summit a few peaks this past weekend, but the glaciers are exposed way more than usual at this time of the year.
That's a bummer. I was hoping to make it out to Rainier again this summer but sounds like many reasons would keep us from making the trip.
Awesome, man! I plan on heading up for an Avalanche Gulch attempt tomorrow.
Good luck!
Wow just literally purchased my CTR Summit flap cap and you have one wow lol! Glad I got it. Amazing view though
Welcome to the style club 😎
Heavy as "crap"🤣
This mountain neatly killed me when I was sixteen back in 93/94.
I hope that he was kidding when he said at 0:45 that a 60 meter rope was unnecessarily long for glacier travel with three people. And the rope has no knots in it for friction.
Awesome! 😁 What’s the season to do Shasta?
You made it look almost boring, which it certainly isn't. Sweet climb, great job.
No one got hurt or injured which is so boring. But boring is ok. We’ll try to spice things up next time ;)
@@HikingNerd Boring can be great on a climb. Happy you had great conditions. Looking forward to your next video.
Hmmm 🤔 Bolam Glacier.
I have submitted through Avalenche Gulch in May.
I thought June might be a kind of dangerous month to climb but you said the ❄ snow is in perfect condition. Great view !! You had a great weather! Just wondering how many times did u summit Mt Shasta,Jimmy?
Might consider this route next time. Thank you for sharing :)
I’ve lost count haha. It’s a glacier so it’ll be covered all year and rockfall isn’t the same concern on Bolam as it is on Avy Gulch. But it’s steeper and more involved to be on a rope team.
The last hours back to the car always suck lol. Looks fun. What kind of sunglasses are you using in the video?
No kidding! I’m using Julbo Shield photochromic (cat2-4)
Be careful with all that dangerous white snow.
Is this the same as Hotlum-Bolam route?
Bolam up, hotlum-bolam down
How tall are you? Or is that just a tiny tent?
5’9” and it’s designed to be a tiny tent but I wish it was a smidge longer
@@HikingNerd I'm 6'3, big feet, 3" pad and lofty sleeping bag... makes finding a pole standing tent hard
