I think of the B18 as a weird Swedish lovechild of the Bf 110 and Ju 88, and it got the best characteristics of both. It's one of my favorite CAS planes in the game, all variants of it.
"The *best* characteristics of both" ? Both of those planes are absolutly miserable. The B18 is fantastic, but why do you want to give it depression by putting it next two these two abominations? Hell, the Ju-88 can barly stay in the air even with min fuel and no bombs. And for the Bf 110, yeah, the armaments are nice, but everything else is shit. At least it doesn't fall out off the sky like the ju-88.
@@13deadghosts Have you only played those planes stock, or what? The Ju 88 is a fantastic medium bomber, and the Bf 110 is one of the most fun CAS planes in the game, not to mention a decent heavy fighter.
@@ODST_Parker Yes, I have spaded pretty much every Bf-110 and the Ju-88's. The Ju-88 struggle to stay in the air and i just find them miserable to fly. Regarding the 110: As i said, i like the weapons, but i don't flying them against other planes. As you said, they are good as CAS in Mixed RB, but useless as heavy fighters (to be fair, most heavy fighters are useless in AirRB). I like the british mosquitos far more as a heavy fighter at these BRs (not to mention that the recent absolutly retarded penetration buff makes them extremly good CAS). In the german tree the only heavy fighter that is really fun to fly against other planes is the Ta-154 in my opnion. Or the 50mm 410, but that is more of a meme plane to use it against other planes :P I am sorry that my first comment sounded really negative/angry, that wasn't the intention :)
Great thing about the Pvkv II is the zoom of the optics and for the T18B 57 the gun have practically no recoil, you can put shell after shell right on the same spot without them going all wild.
Italian FC. 20 BIS is better imho. It definitely doesn't get any love, but it's a great ground attacker, it has a very low stall speed, a rapid firing 37mm gun, and it's an absolute TANK of a plane. It will take hit after hit from American .50 cals and just shrug them off.
@@FeatheredDino Wait, in what way is that thing better? It have a worse cannon, worse extra weaponry, is much slower and easier to get pounched on by fighters and no 20mm cannons or Swedish op 13.2mm to quickly deal with any fighter infront of you...
@@Eyeless_Camper it's much smaller, it can fly at stupidly low speeds and not stall, it still has good control ever basically while it's stalling, it pulls out of a dive like it's a A6M3... it's just a great plane. You should try it.
It's really interesting to see such a good player that has played this much somehow miss that it tells you what's in the belt right there when you hover over it, it says it on the 2nd line from the top, just below the name of the belt. In this case it's "AP-T/APHET/APHET/AP/AP", so no purely high explosive shells.

the Pvkv II is honestly one of my best performing tanks in the game (after getting its APHE, the stock shell was abysmal). Easy 4.0 k/d average for me, biggest issue was always the reload time.
You said that the T18B isnt very durable, but from my experience out of all bombers in the game, the B18-T18 series of bombers/strike aircraft is one of the most durable bomber lines for some reason, quite unexpected but yeah.
So it's only been a year since this video but I went to go and look at the T18B (57) and the only thing it has now in it's 'Ground targets' belt is AP-T
I love this plane, and the planes before it. With experience, the rockets are absolutely devastating, as they have a good amount of HE and an insane amount of penetration for this BR, and the cannons and defensive gun make it competitive in the air. I've had so many epic CAS runs with this vehicle.
The rockets, the cannon, the anti-AAA capabilities and spam those tiny bombs and you can get open tops and stationary targets. The rear gunner with the broken 13.2 swedish MGs hits like a 20mm
PVKV II, Favorite TD hands down imo. It does bobble but the depression and zoom allows it to be used nicely. Along with the turret being separated. I've had APHE detonate in the turret and was able to scuttle off cause it couldnt get the hull crew.
Yeah I don’t like how he calls her garbage. It’s a amazing to and the round almost always penetrates and leads to a one shot. Reload is fine and the ballistics are nice
1:25 Don't forget Gaijin hates the US too because they still haven't filled that 3.7 br anti air gap between M42 and m163 and they have extremely poor armor compared to their other major nation counterparts (except those bad boys around the 6.7ish br mark and the jumbo), also just look at the poor Abrams upper front plate. As silly as Swedish weapons seemed in WWII, they got their shit together quick in the post-War. WWII era was for learning and rebuilding the arms industry after decades of neglect. The result is by the 50s, the Swedes were building excellent fighter aircraft and very good armored vehicles and anti-tank weapons. I think people also forget that for a small country to support such a large and effective arms industry is rather remarkable. Oh, ok, we're gonna dunk on swedish designs are we? Let's do this for a challenge. Use the 9040 vehicles in the roles they were intended, and get 5 kills in one game each with ALL of them. I think you'll like the 9040's atleast And to clarify, you can use them in a line up, or one at a time. As for targets, air or ground will do, but the AA varient should be 5 plane kills, if possible.
The thing is, the 9040’s are pretty similar to already existing designs. The ATGM variant is kinda just a scaled up Bradley, the SPAA is a scaled down OTOMATIC
The Pvkv II is great if you play it right. It's a sniper. You shoot things at a massively long range (for BR 4.0) and then you use the shoot-and-scoot tactics to survive. I've had battles where I've killed 10+ enemies with this thing. But it takes the right map and right tactics. (Although, it won't be good youtube footage.)
Probably other people already said so, but when seeing the ammo info you can check at the top that it says, in order, how the ammo fires, in the ground targets belt case, it is: AP-T/APHET/APHET/AP/AP.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve spawned in my full loaded p47 to see 2-3 very good fighters trying to strafe tigers, while an enemy plane has already climbed 2 clicks about me.
Just to let you know if no one told you yet OddBawz, but it says the ammo order at the top for every belt. It is one AP-T, followed by two APHET, and two AP.
The idea behind the T18B is pretty much identical to the Mosquito FB Mk.XVIII "Tse Tse" with the 6-pdr. It's meant for anti-shipping or specifically sub hunting. And well, the Tse Tse Mossie performed quite well and crippled or sunk a number of German vessels.
I use the Ikv 73 and the Strv m/42 EH (both 2.7) as backups as im grinding tier 3 Sweden because they have those nuke shells with like 60mm of penetration but 220g of TNT. I get a lot of overpressure kills with those APHE shells.
The S-Tank works perfectly well in defensive oriented armor warfare. The US Army rated it quite well after testing some at Fort Knox, and so did the Bundeswehr and the British. It was a very lethal defensive weapon for its intended terrain, and in limited offensive roles, in the days before real gun stabilization made firing on the move effective. It wasn't ever going to be an export darling because it is a bespoke weapon for Swedish conditions and doctrine. I swear, games like this are the best and worth thing to happen to the study of armor. Whereas it does get the average person hyped about AFVs, it completely conditions them to think in the exact opposite manner of how real armor doctrine works. War Thunder makes people think they are experts when they honestly are missing the big picture of how armor warfare works in the real world. This inability to comprehend the worth of the 103 is a perfect example. Put these gamers in a real tank in real conditions and they'll see the use VERY quickly.
The unfortunete problem with Swedish vehicles was that on release, everybody was getting clapped by Swedish vehicles and had no idea how to counter them, cried their eyes out, exclaimed "Swedish Bias" and gajin raised their b.rs it the point where yeah, it cab still somewhat do well, but I can do way better in literally any other vehicle at the same battle rating. Take the Pvkv2, good gun, and excellent depression. That's it. That's all the positives. Yes, at 3.3 it was kinda OP, especially in downtier, but it should have been moved to 3.7, not 4.0. Another example: A21. This thing was on release, the destroyer of worlds, it clapped enemy fighters, heavy fighters and carried games, not because it was a good vehicle, but because dumbass players could not (and still seem to not understand) the concept of getting above your enemy. If somebody is above you while playing the A21, you're screwed. You can't run away, you're to slow yet you can only turngmfight for only so long before you run out of energy. This was a bit of a rant, but Sweden is a perfect example of how gajin A: has no idea how to balance their game and B: how absolutely disconnected they are when it comes to minor nations. Because, I mean, there are quite a few people playing minor nations but despite this, on release the vehicles are op, they are nerfed into oblivion and then forgotten about. Like, when was the last time a minor nation had one of its vehicles get a lower repair cost or even buffed/nerfed slightly?
Thats a premium that isnt for sale any more. or might have been event.. either way.. not available. but pretty sure Odd already has a vid on it from a while ago.
Pkv II is a good machine, but it needs the player to know the maps and possible approach vectors of the enemy team. I can usually get to 5-6 kills in it and I think that my highest was 19 kills and assists.
@14:55 "I hate being self aware as a human being. It makes everything painful to watch." You LOVE being a self aware human being, and it makes everything a marvel to watch. Yes it can be exhausting, but human behaviour is intensely puzzling for those who have noticed.
I really do recommend the Pvkv m/43 if you don't like the gun wobble on the Pvkv II. The m/43 has the same gun depression, the same 75mm, less than average wobble in return for a bigger silhouette. It also has surprisingly survivable armour in a hull-down position and is way faster than it appears on any terrain. It also has a quicker reload than the Pvkv II. Its only major con is that it doesn't have a turret, but then that's what the Pvkv II is, so yeah.
the 103 was actually an extremely good tank when it was put into service, the problem was that technology progressed very fast at this time so it only took a few years before new rounds were developed that would pierce through a 103 from the front. the second those became standard the 103 stopped being an amazing tank. however that doesnt mean it was a useless tank, when used for ambush attacks or supporting infantry it would still fill its roll well, however it would no longer be a tank youd want to be engaged in prolong tank vs tank combat as its designs advantages disappeared with the advent of better rounds while its disadvantages obviously remained.
I absolutely love the B-18 57, but the HE rockets have a really wierd flight path sometimes. The pvbv II is one of my favorite tanks in wt, simply because it has so much gun depression with such a good gun.
Odd, do you not see in the ammo selection where it literally tells you to composition of the belt? AP-T/APHET/APHET/AP/AP Right below the ground targets name
@14:33 of course they're ignoring the planes, it's so much easier to attack ground targets. If they want air to air combat, surely they'd be in Air RB? CAS in ground forces is easy, why do the harder option when there's a quick dopamine fix to be had.
This. CAS in ground battles is just "Press space bar, wank off, rince, repeat" most of the time. We really need a true ground battles option, but that'd require Gaijin to be competent...
Usually when im taking some sort of fighter out i always aim to drop my bomb first before i turn towards air targets if i can manage it and then i try to deal with as many air craft as i can before ground target but ill say my downside is im terrible at leading i just cant learn it… but im getting there Usually ill get 2-3 kills minimum but i think my best game was 4 or 5 ground targets and 2 or 3 planes Absolute blast of a game it was
Hey Odd, nice work in the T18 and Pvkv!! And I get where you're coming from regarding the CAS issue and people just hopping in planes and wasting them. But honestly, they're just having fun in a video game, so it kind of comes off like a mid-battle rant. I dunno. I do those mid-battle rants all the time too, so I'm not innocent, but I've also had games where I did the same thing as these bad players. I wasted my SP, caused the team to lose, all because I wanted some easy kills, wanted a revenge kill, or just didn't want to play ground for a bit. I wouldn't go too hard on these players.
The 103 was designed to be able to fight in the forests of Sweden and not have the barrel get caught on anything. That being said, I think my favorite clown car runs between the sav 20.12.48 and the strv m42 eh..
Thats because they are pretty much the same chassis (Czechoslovakian light tanks). Whilst invading the Soviet Union , Germany realized that those captured tanks were quickly becoming obsolete, so they took off the turret and gave it an AT gun. Thus the Marder was born. Sweden had bought some of the same Czechoslovakian light tanks and modified them for their own needs. Since Sweden kept a very close eye on what was happening in the war they also wanted to keep those chassis in service somehow, so they too put an AT gun on top (but somehow managed to put it into a turret).
You should try the Ki 109. Its a flying 75mm gun at 2.0! And unlike the duck it has a rear gunner and was build as an *INTERCEPTOR* to kill B 29s, so it can actually stay in the skies.
The painfully long reload of the Pkiv II makes absolutely zero sense to me. The Sherman's is lightning fast, the ammo for The gun is right friggin there, there's tons of space; Why does the reload take a billion years?
Extra fun with the pvkv ii, despite seemingly having enough armour, I've multiple times had 50 cal rounds punch through the turret front. In arcade rather than realistic it's particularly dire at which point I find at the pvkv's 3.7 BR in arcade - the Lago I is more combat effective.
.50 cals have 31mm of pen at point blank, 0° angle of attack. So there is no surprise in the fact that they can easily penetrate your turret, that is only 15mm thick at best.
you honestly should just make a tutorial series because i personally learned a lot from just watching your gameplay and trying to do stuff you do and i went from being unable to bomb with a F6F 5 to getting around 10 kills if im uninterupted
Yeah I LOVE watching my teams fighters ignore air.....and do mostly nothing to ground targets but die. Also love finding several AA on my team....who ignore all air and look for ground targets instead.....
Hi, Odd! I have a challenge idea. 7 kills in one match with the B7A2. Not too crazy, but it should be a fun challenge. If that one is too easy for you, then I also have another challenge idea that is definitely on the tougher side. Score a torpedo kill in ground RB! Hope you're well anyway, and thanks for the videos :)

The He-111 does everything it does, but better, with a better flightmodel, better bombload, more survivability and at a lower BR.
Or the 50mm 410, but that is more of a meme plane to use it against other planes :P
I am sorry that my first comment sounded really negative/angry, that wasn't the intention :)
@@FeatheredDino Plus that one is at a much lower BR, increasing your chances of actually penning most if not all of the tanks you will fight.
@@HappyBacon777ttv I take it into 7.7 battles lol 53mm of pen will go right thru the top of 99% of tanks in the game.
Watching this man cook every plane's engine like that makes me so nervous
It's really interesting to see such a good player that has played this much somehow miss that it tells you what's in the belt right there when you hover over it, it says it on the 2nd line from the top, just below the name of the belt. In this case it's "AP-T/APHET/APHET/AP/AP", so no purely high explosive shells.
Yeah I was just about to mention that. Not hate on him or anything for it, it's a relatively easy thing to miss but it's a little surprising Odd of all people didn't know that. Just goes to prove that he IS in fact human and not a WT terminator bot.
@@tyray3p True that, and it's not really a "failure" on Odd's part but on the UI design, something must be very wrong if it's possible to miss it after playing for so long, UI design is very interesting in that way.
Yeah. Noticed also “we have enough spawn points even when it’s red and tells us we don’t”
You’d think he would know that means he doesn’t have enough spawn points for the current load out
@@Owlberightback No no, that one is just truly a visual bug.
he just said that to pretend he is human. there is no way odd doesnt know about the belt orders
the Pvkv II is honestly one of my best performing tanks in the game (after getting its APHE, the stock shell was abysmal). Easy 4.0 k/d average for me, biggest issue was always the reload time.
For me too, it's my most played tank and you can snipe pretty much anyone from across the map.
You said that the T18B isnt very durable, but from my experience out of all bombers in the game, the B18-T18 series of bombers/strike aircraft is one of the most durable bomber lines for some reason, quite unexpected but yeah.
Completely agree
@@teun911 Exactly. It's an almost perfect combination of everything you could want in a plane (with the exception of mediocre engine power).
This statement doesn't include US air as I believe US air, for the most part, is fine minus the given exception or 2.
Sincerely,
A guy who plays all of the nations in the game
Sweden is really ahead of its time, and they used it to make weird tanks that JUST WORKS!
Honestly! Some of the most interesting and unique vehicles I've ever seen, and hell, most of them did really well for their time, too.
Especially when one compares their weapons to certain much larger NATO nations, traditional powers, who spent the 50-60s churning out rather unremarkable aircraft until by the 70s they needed to bring in other nations like Germany to make up for their design and manufacturing shortcomings... (cough) Britain.
@@crownprincesebastianjohano7069 man they tried to develop the kranvagn but failed, imagine how cool swedish would've been if they manage to complete it
That weekend warrior bit kinda hit me lol love the vidz man
Hey Bawz, you should play the Zis-30 low tier tractor
I remember when I would play this and the su-122 at 2.3, fun, apart from the time I got shot, through one of my teammates because it had like no armour, killed me and hit another dude, maybe killing him.
@@soviet_doge1263 that little death tractor is a blast, Bawz should try to play a game without dying in it. Good challenge
This is an accurate representation of what it feels like to main Sweden
Weird and very situational but because other players are drunk, kind of funny

Me too Bawz, I wish friendly fighter aircraft did their job instead of pinging tanks with their guns uselessly
Thats just america and their .50 cals.
_”It’s a biplane, I’d head on å biplane!”_ - Till you realise it’s the I-153 with rockets....
when you said “i hate being self aware as a human being, it makes it painful to watch sometimes” i felt that man
Oh, ok, we're gonna dunk on swedish designs are we?
Let's do this for a challenge.
Use the 9040 vehicles in the roles they were intended, and get 5 kills in one game each with ALL of them. I think you'll like the 9040's atleast
And to clarify, you can use them in a line up, or one at a time. As for targets, air or ground will do, but the AA varient should be 5 plane kills, if possible.
The thing is, the 9040’s are pretty similar to already existing designs. The ATGM variant is kinda just a scaled up Bradley, the SPAA is a scaled down OTOMATIC
And the best part about this plane? It has the armament of a heavy attacker, but gets a bomber spawn in air RB, perfect interceptor
I love the pvkv 2, it's one of the tanks with that I got the most kills
Keep them coming! Love watching you dominate no matter what vehicle you take out!
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve spawned in my full loaded p47 to see 2-3 very good fighters trying to strafe tigers, while an enemy plane has already climbed 2 clicks about me.
"I hate being self aware. It makes everything painful to watch." -best quote ever
Just to let you know if no one told you yet OddBawz, but it says the ammo order at the top for every belt. It is one AP-T, followed by two APHET, and two AP.
love the vid and the others so far, always come back from school waiting for the upload
Props to you mate, your intro had me grinning well thoroughly.
Nothing use to piss me off more than fighters strafing ground targets while enemy fighters were free to chase me in my XA-38....
The 103 was perfect for Sweden, similar to how the Merkava is the tank with the best features for Israel.
"Israel bad"👹
Dang i allmost pissed my Pants......PURE ART. Saturday it's late im drunk.....and you put out this GEM! THX ALOT M8!
"I hate being self aware as a human being. It makes everything painful to watch!" - OddBawZ 2022
Literally what just they did whit the EBR 1951
Its on 5.0 now.....
I really recommend trying the ersatz M10 in the german tree, basically it's a panther that's really crappily disguised as an M10
Thats a premium that isnt for sale any more. or might have been event.. either way.. not available. but pretty sure Odd already has a vid on it from a while ago.
The fact almost all Low tier Swedish tanks are build on the 38 Chassis is even more hilarious
Pkv II is a good machine, but it needs the player to know the maps and possible approach vectors of the enemy team. I can usually get to 5-6 kills in it and I think that my highest was 19 kills and assists.
@14:55 "I hate being self aware as a human being. It makes everything painful to watch."
You LOVE being a self aware human being, and it makes everything a marvel to watch.
9:08 when the bombs go off, I swear you can very faintly hear the original minecraft hit sound, if that was added in edit, well played sir!
pvkv stock solid shot and reload time means the enemy will often replace their gunner before you can reload and kill them
I don't know why but I love the pööfkööf. It's my most played tank too and you can snipe people easily from across the map
At least Sweden is better at designing vehicles than Scotland is at getting to the finals.
the 103 was actually an extremely good tank when it was put into service, the problem was that technology progressed very fast at this time so it only took a few years before new rounds were developed that would pierce through a 103 from the front. the second those became standard the 103 stopped being an amazing tank.
however that doesnt mean it was a useless tank, when used for ambush attacks or supporting infantry it would still fill its roll well, however it would no longer be a tank youd want to be engaged in prolong tank vs tank combat as its designs advantages disappeared with the advent of better rounds while its disadvantages obviously remained.
I absolutely love the B-18 57, but the HE rockets have a really wierd flight path sometimes.
The pvbv II is one of my favorite tanks in wt, simply because it has so much gun depression with such a good gun.
Watching Bawz warp his engines six ways to sunday in the first match hurt my inner mechanic
SENT IT!
Literally shook my fist at the screen with a frown on my face when Odd disses the 103. xD
my favorite Swedish tank or armored car was they're king tiger and yes Sweden had a german king tiger but it had a Porsche tiger turret.
Odd, do you not see in the ammo selection where it literally tells you to composition of the belt?
AP-T/APHET/APHET/AP/AP
Right below the ground targets name
You got me with the intro, i love it.
Oh man, just seconds into the vid and I can already tell it's going to be a show!
My grind in stock Sweden ground was so painful that I gave up and only grinded using only my 1.7 Trumpet. And the 40mm truck
Usually when im taking some sort of fighter out i always aim to drop my bomb first before i turn towards air targets if i can manage it and then i try to deal with as many air craft as i can before ground target but ill say my downside is im terrible at leading i just cant learn it… but im getting there
Usually ill get 2-3 kills minimum but i think my best game was 4 or 5 ground targets and 2 or 3 planes
Absolute blast of a game it was
L-62 ANTI ll with it's m/43 belt at 2.7.
It was 3.3 then 3.0 and now 2.7.
Teammates stress me more than enemy, br compression and non historical matchmaking put together. Even better now I can't tell them so.
Well we don't have to worry about the viability of this one anymore cause they removed the APHE from the ground target belt
pvkv II was a highlight for me, the gun depression is just too good to give up
Odd don’t you dare make me pull out the British report on the STRV-103. Spoiler alert, they loved it.
"I hate being self aware as a human being, it makes everything painful to watch."
Preach brother!
my fav war thunder youtuber fr content never gets
boring love this man 😁😁
cant you see the belt feed? going APT, APHET, APHET, AP, AP? Shown at 1:23
Oh god! I cracked up with that intro🤣
The 103 was designed to be able to fight in the forests of Sweden and not have the barrel get caught on anything. That being said, I think my favorite clown car runs between the sav 20.12.48 and the strv m42 eh..
I was playing with my mates the other day and realized that the PVKV ll chassis is very similar in design as the Marder 3 of the germans
They're both based on the LT vz. 38 tank (also known as the Pz. 38t)
I hate it when TH-camrs WEP their engines to death
you honestly should just make a tutorial series because i personally learned a lot from just watching your gameplay and trying to do stuff you do and i went from being unable to bomb with a F6F 5 to getting around 10 kills if im uninterupted
The day the fighters focus on enemy planes is the day I'll finally retire from WT again.
No dude, the order of the ammo it's different. It's says at the top in the description when you are looking at the ammo belts animation.
Yeah I LOVE watching my teams fighters ignore air.....and do mostly nothing to ground targets but die. Also love finding several AA on my team....who ignore all air and look for ground targets instead.....

Not too crazy, but it should be a fun challenge.
If that one is too easy for you, then I also have another challenge idea that is definitely on the tougher side. Score a torpedo kill in ground RB!
Hope you're well anyway, and thanks for the videos :)
Honestly, I'm not a very good CAS player, but even I know to look for aircraft when I'm in the air, and try and keep them off my team mates if I'm in anything dogfight worthy...
