There are several roads that are begging for attention. The eastwest road is not yet completed. Kaduna - Lokoja - Auchi - Benin road is impassable. So it is with several important roads. Why the hurry and deception?

The old road design are outdated and takes longer to get to the destination. The new designs are faster, multi-modal, cost-efficient and cutting edge. Let’s pray that they are able to complete it. Interconnectivity will improve the ease of doing business across board.
@@safiibrahim1778 Oga did you read what you wrote? You said the old design is outdated. I am sure you are not an Engineer. If you are you have to return your certificate to your school. Before you respond to me you can do yourself some education about road construction and design. As a senior Engr who has practiced in Nigeria and Europe, I can say without a doubt our road problem is not design but corruption in the construction industry. Have you ask yourself why do we need to construct a new road to Calabar now when the East-west road hasn't been completed even after 16yrs of construction. Note East-west road is from Calabar to Lagos as well. Have you try to ask why the road has 10 lanes when the most used road in Nigeria is Lagos Ibadan and Abuja-Lokoja are just 6 lanes? Was there traffic that necessitated that? Have you asked yourself about the insecurity issues in Nigeria? Where will the country get 16 trillion naira to build just one road when we have over 100 major road contracts awarded but abandoned due to lack of funds? Have you asked what is the economic importance of this new road now? why can't we just solve our electricity problem and make the existing road good before talking about a new road. But Nigerians are educated but intellectually lazy and quite stupid becos what we call a working government is building new building and new roads while they allow the existing ones to rust. it's so sad. How we got here is still something I can't comprehend.
