Why does Apple use cliches EVERYWHERE?

- There's this one marketing trick that Apple uses all the time in their copywriting: they "tweak" a cliche.
They take a cliche - something we're all familiar with - and they subvert our expectations by changing it up. By doing so, they hope it strikes you as clever or memorable.
In todays video I attempt to reverse engineer this marketing trick with a special dictionary and using ChatGPT. The results are... just okay. It turns out just because you can identify a marketing trick, doesn't mean you can replicate it.
🏆 The Cliches 🏆
1. Actions speak louder than words
2. Good things come to those who wait
3. Rome wasn't built in a day
4. You can't have your cake and eat it too
I don’t know how this doesn’t have more views, this video is incredible. Great production and a great topic. Wishing you the best of luck!
Thank you Miles!! That’s super encouraging to hear 😊
The Path of Most Resistance is probably my favorite. Fits the event so stinkin well!!
Great video, man. I couldn't take my eyes off of it.
Thank you!! Appreciate you taking the time to say so :)
I think the word you are looking for is idiom:
Main Difference - Idiom vs Cliche
Idiom and cliché are phrases and clauses that are commonly used by many people. An idiom is a phrase whose figurative meaning is different from its literal meaning. A cliché is a phrase or opinion that is overused and indicates a lack of original thought. Both have been in the usage for a long time. The main difference between idiom and cliche is that idiom is viewed in a positive sense whereas clichés are viewed in a negative sense.
Thanks for the video!
I think “colloquialism” may be better than idiom, since not all of them are contrary to their literal definition.
this was so good! subscribed & hope you keep it coming xx
Thank you so much!!

I think if you want to "tweak the cliché" you need to search around the topic, not just directly at it. e.g. rather than looking at idioms/clichés for "map", perhaps look at dropping a pin on the map.
The first that comes to mind as I'm typing this would be "So silent you can hear a pin drop" which would be in direct opposition to your intended purpose to put something on the map -- to create visibility. So you can do either: "They'll definitely hear your pin drop" or maybe "They can't hear your pin drop, but they'll still see you on the map"... but length is murder on punchiness.
Interesting topic - but you did seem to struggle a little on the "let's give this a try" part. Perhaps a little more preparation behind the scenes allows better polish on the outcome? :D Unless it's intentional to make me comment - in which case, kudos!
Continue uploading videos bro.
