I think mine went out but not in the same way. It's starting at 40 PSI even when the engine is off. Literally was driving home at 1-1.5K RPM as I wasn't 100% sure what was going on at first, thought it was likely the sensor though as it didn't feel like there was anything wrong with it.
Does the gauge fluctuate at all? If it’s only reading 40 psi no matter what, it could be a communication error or the gauge could be bad and stuck that way. Usually when the sensor goes bad, it’ll read either 0 or be stuck at 120.
If you are able to take the old one out quickly and then thread the new one in immediately you don’t have to. I did an oil change anyway to make sure it was not low and clean.
There isn’t a reset that I know of. It is all pressure and resistance based. Some people have experienced the gauge itself getting stuck, while most have found that the sensor turns out to be the culprit. Wheels are JNC 014
@@NoLagProductions_Chad appreciate the reply! I thought I changed it today but watching the video I took out the wrong sensor lmao. No wonder it didn’t fix my gauge haha.
Normal start up pressure should be between 75-90 psi based off of oil and mileage. Normal idle should be around 60. If you step on it and it goes to 120, you have a faulty gauge or the sensor is reading an irregularly.
my friend over tightened the oil pressure sensor and he said it’s leaking from there, any fix? I’m going to buy the 350 from him was think of buying a new upper oil pan from Z1 motor sports
Depends on if it is leaking from the pan itself or the sensor. If it’s the pan, it’s probably gonna need to be fixed or replaced. The sensor is pretty self explanatory.
I always recommend doing an oil change anyway. If you remove the sensor fast enough and put the new one in, it won’t drain much and you can just top it off
@@ramezfekry6081 yeah it wasn't nothing bad at all I just smacked my gauges they are kinda lose and when I noticed when I hit a bump they go back to normal or go get messed up so when I see it at 120 I just smack the gauge and goes back to normal
Drop a like, leave your feedback and lemme know what you think. Thanks again for watching.
what was the milage when changing it, mines gone an need to replace im currently sat at 72600 miles
Mine went out. Used your video as a guide. Not a tech so I took my time and replaced oil/filter as well. YOU ROCK. \m/
Happy to help. Glad it worked out for you 👍🏻
Mine has shown over 120 for at least a year and a half now.... Need to try and fix this ASAP

Can you Also reset your oil pressure gauge? And what kind of rims are on your Z

If I just did an oil change what would you recommend doing? If I take it out with my oil pan full would it shoot out oil?
To be on the safe side, I would still drain it out. Otherwise, you’ll have a big mess on your hands

How much oil came out when changing the sensor itself?
If you leave the oil in, a lot. If you drain it first then there should be none.
I changed the oil on my 350z with mobil1 and Mobil 1 oil filter. 10w30. When I start it it hits 60 psi and 120 when steeping on it .

My z has a lot of oil build up on the motor and near the alternator any tips on how to wash it off
Really good degreaser and a pressure washer. I’ve had to do it before. Jacked the front of the car up and went to town on it
Thanks mine just did this when I was driving hard
Where did you buy the part?
I bought mine from rock auto
Changing the sensor on mine this weekend🤞, thanks for the vid!
No problem, hope it helped
what was your milage at time of changing

So after the oil pressure sensor will drain all the oil in the car add new oil ? And it should be good to go ?

My oil pressure gauge reads at 60 when I start it on battery, I don’t even have the engine on 😕 is this a pressure sensor prob?
Does it fluctuate when you start it or does it stay at 60psi no matter what?
@@NoLagProductions_Chad the gauge does fluctuate wit the engine running
If it just stays at the same level no matter what, the gauge itself is bad
Is this the same for the hr motor?
Not sure if the location of the oil pressure sensor is the same, but I’m pretty sure the fix is the same across the board
The gauge to the left of the oil one is not working for my 350z, how would I fix it
That one has a board built into it that isnt repairable. You’d have to find one to replace it with
I changed it but it's still not working any other recommendations?
Only other issues would be a restriction somewhere, a really big oil leak or the gauge is bad
Did you find the issue ?

Thank you man!! It helped me
No problem. I’m glad it helped you out. That’s what I do this for.
I just bought a 350Z today and neither of those gauges even turn on in my car. Any idea as to what it can be or how much it'll cost to fix?
My guess would be that the board that controls them is bad
Really great vid thx man 🙏
No problem. I appreciate the feedback
At what psi should the oil be
Normal start up, you should see 80-100 psi. Idle will be from 40-60psi
Damn how can I get a new one of these autozone don’t have them 🤕 and I need to smog my car soon
I ordered mine off of Amazon. Works just the same. If you’ve got prime, it’ll take 2 days to get it
same for oil presure not working now i know
Thanks
Muchas gracias.
De nada
Thank you to much
Beautiful!!!!! Thanks 🙏🏽👍🏽
You’re welcome.
I changed the sensor and still getting the same issue
I’d say your gauge is bad then or you have a restriction somewhere
I have the same problem
Is it a de or hr?
no problem only oil sensor gauge remove no oil filter good for me if like change remove all for change oil
Do the he get this?
You referring to the hr engine? If I’m not mistaken, it’s the same across the board with the de and hr.
Thx for the video man. Even though i don’t have a Z but saving for one 🥲🥲
No problem. Hope you get one and enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine.
doing the same man hopefully everything went well
Love this car
Just had this issue. Thank you so much for the video! 05 de at 154xxx, same color as yours.
No problem. Glad I could help 🙂
@@NoLagProductions_Chad I'm glad you could help too! Thanks again!
New sensor, and still reads high.
You have either a bad gauge or a restriction somewhere. If it’s a DE then it’s not the gallery gasket
It’s the gauge, slapping it makes it work, temporarily. 👋.
that is low oil pressure right after a oil change
Car wasn't running that long afterwards. Its always right on point now
Mine still sits at 0
If that's the case, I'd be concerned that it is in your gauge or you have a restriction somewhere
It's 80 dollars
Not sure where you got yours from but that’s not what I paid
Can you drive with the oil pressure on 120?
Driving around it should never read 120. Idle is usually 40-60 psi. If you get on it, the highest you should see is 100 at best
