Even though I dont main Lei anymore, it sucks how harada is abandoning him along with some of the other legacy characters. Lei and law used to always be the first characters Id use in every tekken game back on the ps1 ps2 days
Yeah, Lei's demise is pretty messed up. With all of these characters missing one would have to continue to question how much control Harada truly has..At this point Harada is basically just a mascot lol.
Alisa and Zafina will be in the base roster of Tekken 8. Feng Wei will also be in the base roster and it's ok that you don't like this character. I don't know if Lee Chaolan will be in the base roster or as DLC, but I have no problem with that and he will play a role in the main story of Tekken 8. That doesn't mean that I hate Lee, I'm just not sure what will they do with him, if he'll be in the base roster or DLC, even though he'll be in the main story. Anna Williams, Lei Wulong, Bruce Irvin, Eddy Gordo/Christie Monteiro, Julia Chang, Miguel, Kunimitsu II and Lidia Sobietska should be in the base roster. Panda can be able to be customized, if she will be a palette swap for Kuma and I hope she will go back to the classic palette swap for Kuma because it's not necessary to make the two bears having 2 different slots just for customization.
The thing about Mortal Kombat is that, they get away with not having new characters by making all the classic characters refreshed and revamped without taking the core gameplay. So there’s plenty to learn and do without getting bored. Tekken does not change like that, they add, remove there and here, but at least 95% of moves are recycled.
I think they usually include DJ in an attempt to include t3 jin players. In that light, I can see him returning along with heihachi, or at least someone who incorporates the exact samw movelists as those two
I think your list is pretty solid. I'd like to see Christie return but I think if anything she'll be DLC. Lei Wulong should be on the disc, but his usage is low.
This is my opinion but for me i think they should more add atleast 8 more slots for the characters that are people wanted to see and play like ANNA i dont really like her to be dlc again like fr she's more famous than her sister, Next for me is kunimitsu, i really like her to be on the roster like she's also one of my favorite female characters, Lastly, they should not bring back some of characters that are not really useful by players..

My main Miguel does have connections with Jin. He has to be there but I fear from his moveset might be remove due to the heat system.
