I wouldnt say it’s trash. It adds lots of features to older cars. I think for people that have regular stereo and standard or hifi sound, it’s good. Maybe for people with idrive and logic7 sound might not be worth it. For returns buy from amazon.
Yes I installed front and backup cam. I might be installing in another vehicle so if i do I’ll make a video. You use the reverse lights for power and then I used the yellow 12v power cable from the HU to connect to the red 12v wire on the camera. This allows the picture to stay steady and provide additionL power that the tail lights cannot provide

What happens when the radio starts? You have to open fm app to start listening to music? Can you enable autostart some app to start playing music when device boots up?
I do not have either sensors. But they should work. Radio starts to main home page. For me I have my iPhone connected so it opens the carplay app automatically. It’s running android so you should be able to install an app to auto open the app of your choice at boot
Heads up DONT BUY THIS UNIT. Cartoys installed mine.. plug and play and now my car is jacked up. TC BRAKE, AND ABS codes won't go away. this unit looks good, but it sucks sounds like crap and too low volume. its crap im going to remove mine and buy another unit from a big name
After a year mine is slow and super delayed volume controls from steering wheel. Reset button didnt fix it. Only app i use is youtube. Wish i could just use the screen hooked to my phone. But android dont work with carplay

Did you ever get this fixed? I installed mine and it seems like only the front speakers or the rear speakers work. Not both. When i plug in the rear speakers, we get no audio for the phone calls. So i plugged in the front speakers and it works, but i get no sound from my rear speakers now. The Ext Amp. Button is activated in the eonon head unit settings. Not sure what i did wrong. It seems like we’re missing 2 front wires or 2 rear wires, because it seems like we should have 4 wires all together (comparing the wires to the eonon kit) but the bmw wires only have 2... no front or rear distinction.

I figured out the no audio.. the AUX and the ANT wires were not connected and the EXT Amp button was deactivated.. once I connected the wires and activated the EXT-Amp it started working

The original professional radio sounds better, although you can buy the Android head unit with a better dsp chip. Best sound will come from the premium audio “logic7” sound system
I’d say sound is a bit worse compared to stock. But I bought the standard Android head unit without premium dsp. There’s an equalizer so you can fine tune it to sound close to oem but I haven’t tried any premium dsps.

There’s also one where you cut your dash and insert the screen lol. Looks like the newer bmw style. I sold the e90 though, got a e60 and installed the screen that replaces iDrive screen

In my '11 E90 I currently can't get my phone to play audio, and the aux jack doesn't work either. Combox is installed, but I'm not sure how to troubleshoot it, if you even can? Phone pairs and connects fine to car via bluetooth. I'm looking at this head unit to replace the factory one, but am I going to have the same connectivity problems? Im so stuck on this. Its so easy to be installed compared to the one that sits on top or retrofitting a idrive with carplay but this bottom mount screen looks so ghetto kinda. Idk i might just do it because I really want the steering control and a display in the car (im kinda shallow plus I want to see mhd logs without a car mounted phone)
I have the top screen in my e60 it’s way better but you either need to retrofit the whole dash and idrive system or you can buy the one where you cut the dash but I didn’t wanna do that

There’s a harness in the box that includes a blue external amp wire. Be sure to connect that. Also if you have logic7 sound you will need the decoder box
Hey bro just got this, it worked immediately then we couldn't get the speakers to play the music (I dont have logic 7.) So we started unplugging and replugging things to try to get the audio working and now the entire unit won't turn on. Any suggestions?

Hi, Eonon sells a relocation bracket that you can get. I would email them to see if you can purchase it. There are buttons on the screen that should work too

I had mines installed. Worked fine a couple of days and then the dashboard started going crazy now it’s completely off and the radio won’t even turn off when I turn the car off. Idk what to do
There’s a timeout option in the settings. I’ll be releasing my eonon full review video hopefully next week mid week. If the radio isn’t working any more maybe something went wrong with it? They have 1 year warranty i believe might be worth a shot getting a replacement
Blue connects to blue if I remember correctly. I had no sound either until I connected it. There should be another blue wire it connects too. I wonder if Eonon updated their manual with it

There is a bracket that replaces the cup holder for it or you can try out the digital buttons inside the software. I have the buttons shown in the video

Yes black plastic goes into the metal hole. You need to push it as much as possible and it clicks in. Also be sure the bracket is flipped around, the metal “claws” should be facing forward. Once it’s all assembled, the two screws from the metal bracket will hold the whole thing in. Then after everything is done you can add the two screws on the sides of the lcd display.
No. I only used the two screws in the video from the bottom ac bracket. They are enough to hold the whole unit in place. The included screws are useless as they are not the correct size.

From what I’ve heard, Logic7 does not sound as good. The standard and hifi systems sound almost as good but not as good as original. I feel like my original radio sounded just a bit better but the options to tweak the audio are really good and you can really customize it to your liking

You forgot to wire the yellow power cable to the battery in order for your units settings to not reset every time you enter the vehicle

There’s 3 audio systems for e90. Basic, hifi and logic7. Basic and hifi(mine) work plug n play. Logic7 requires the decoder box

What did you do with the yellow battery wire?
I just tucked it in and made sure to electric tape the end to prevent any shorts. It can also be used for the backup cam 12v

Yes it comes with everything. Only exception would be if you have logic7 sound system you need to buy the decoder box.

I had mines installed. Worked fine a couple of days and then the dashboard started going crazy now it’s completely off and the radio won’t even turn off when I turn the car off. Idk what to do
It’s been draining my battery every night. And now my dashboard completely stay off.
There’s a timeout option in the settings. I’ll be releasing my eonon full review video hopefully next week mid week. If the radio isn’t working any more maybe something went wrong with it? They have 1 year warranty i believe might be worth a shot getting a replacement

Which screws? The hvac bracket or the ones on the sides of the lcd

my radio audio work but my bluetooth and apple carplay doesn't have audio at all, where did u connect the other blue wire labeled ANT
Blue connects to blue if I remember correctly. I had no sound either until I connected it. There should be another blue wire it connects too. I wonder if Eonon updated their manual with it
that's what i did connected blue together and tap it on the amp wire but the only works is the radio audio.

I asked Eonon and they said it’s not possible. They said they forwarded the request. One way around this is to install a different launcher.

My e93 has heated seats under the hvac. So will eveythjng fit ? Yours doesn’t have heated seats in this video
You either need Eonon relocation ashtray or get rid of the button and use the digital one in the Eonon interface.
@@cs.studios if I decide to get rid of the button, I just hook the heated seat cables to the radio? Or radio heated seat option will automatically be hooked up to car once radio installsd
I believe it just sits there. There’s no place to insert it in the included harness
I have installed it today and I tested it before I fixed it and it was all working fine but after I finished fixing everything back up it doesn't turn on anymore tried my old unit that doesn't work anymore either. Any advice please
Check fuse for the power supply to the headunit
Sounds like something is shorting. Or see if fuse broke like the other person commented

Are you referring to the OEM backup camera or adding one? Mine didn’t have one so i bought one and added it

How does this work with the built in steering wheel controls? Does the voice assistant button on the wheel control Siri when in CarPlay mode?
That’s a good question. Let me get back to you on that. I’ve only used the volume controls. Normally I just say “Hey Siri” and it pops up

The blue amp wire needs to be plugged in. There should be a diagram in the manual. You have no sound if that wire is not plugged in

There is a bracket that replaces the cup holder for it or you can try out the digital buttons inside the software. I have the buttons shown in the video

The metal bracket below the head unit? It snaps in. There should be two tabs that snap into the bottom of the head unit

Yes black plastic goes into the metal hole. You need to push it as much as possible and it clicks in. Also be sure the bracket is flipped around, the metal “claws” should be facing forward. Once it’s all assembled, the two screws from the metal bracket will hold the whole thing in. Then after everything is done you can add the two screws on the sides of the lcd display.

No. I only used the two screws in the video from the bottom ac bracket. They are enough to hold the whole unit in place. The included screws are useless as they are not the correct size.
@@cs.studios question, if I’m going to run an external amp do I NEED to run the decoder still since I won’t be using the one amp at all? Or can I just wire it all up and wire the amp wire to my new amp.
I believe you can just use the external amp wires from the new eonon head unit and connect directly to the amp

The RCA are not used unless you have a aftermarket amp for the speakers
Does sound quality remain the same?
From what I’ve heard, Logic7 does not sound as good. The standard and hifi systems sound almost as good but not as good as original. I feel like my original radio sounded just a bit better but the options to tweak the audio are really good and you can really customize it to your liking
