I'll be the first to comment 😅 That's some amazing fighting to remove the snorkel for the airbox and other sockets just to access the oil filter !! And a waste of plastic to catch the drips.. The Swedes didn't think much engine architecture but more of safety.. Nice video 😊
Cheers Felix! Yeah the position of that oil filter housing is pretty silly, but not as bad as the position of the cabin filter. 😆 I can forgive it though because it's the most economical car I've ever known.
It’s a PSA engine so if anyone should be blamed it’s the French not the Swedes😂 Despite the faff I love my V50, lefthand drive so I had to remove the accelerator pedal to access the cabin filter😅
@@eb3ha4dl Haha very true! Haha good lord, you had to remove the throttle pedal and the filter position was still as difficult to access as RHD? Crazy I won't hurry to change mine again..
Cheers! Next time we change the fuel filter its likely we will, but that might not be for a while. It's actually pretty easy to do, its all nice and accessible. The only potential issue is getting an air lock in the system and the car not starting. If you fill the new filter and use a syringe to refill the lines with diesel as best you can, it will work fine. At least that worked perfect for me. 😃
@@GreatScottByJoe Nice, it should be exactly the same process for the C30. C30 is probably even more economical than my V50 based on being smaller/lighter. Remarkable cars these really. Hope the vid helps you! Take your time with the cabin filter and you'll get there.
@SPANNERRASH I have some tools that you used already. I will need some jack stands and proper a jack, but even buying them will save me money 💰 compared to the cost of a service I think.
Great video, good clear explanation. I was particularly impressed with how thorough and clean you went about the task. Thank you 🙂
You're very welcome! Glad you found it useful! :)

@@SPANNERRASH yeah I will leave mine alone for quite a while too😂
By the way I used your video to change the timing belt, thank you for that 😊
@@eb3ha4dl Really glad it was helpful!
Great video, well explained, good details!
Thanks, hope it helps you out!
Hello, great video. Could you do a video on the fuel filter replacement as well? Thank you

Cabin filter on the LHD is even worse. The pedals are in the way unless the throttle pedal is removed.
Ludicrous where they've put that filter imo. 😆
@@SPANNERRASHabsolute asshole engineer
Great video
Thank you!
@SPANNERRASH Awesome stuff I'm going to use this when I attempt it on my c30 1.6 diesel

@@GreatScottByJoe Definitely, and I suspect you'll get years of use out of them, far better to be safe working under a car.
“BOOK TIME FOR SERVICE” is equivalent with “SCADENZA TAGLIANDO” ?
I'm not 100% certain, but it seems likely based on the translation.
