What alot of these casual fans dont understand his the reason his wr are wide open half the time is due to daniels. just him being there, you have to put a spy which opens up the middle, and on top of that, he pumps and moves safeties by acting like hes looking one way. He may not have the physical arm talent caleb and maye have but i promise you hes the smarter qb of the 3

All of this says to me that the _Steelers_ would be a better team for him. They *just upgraded* their o-line, & having to watch him like a hawk would help their very limited receiver corps get open. Ah well. I like to dream about these things.

This clip highlights a lot of the better throws from JD. Other videos show more misplaced throws, not leading or anticipating receivers. This clip also shows tight window deep passes, but I've seen a lot of plays where his deep receivers had 5+ yards of separation. Not an expert but my concern on JD... Will his negative translate to career like Fields or will he grow like Hurts?

He was solid, didn't turn the ball over
What you should pay attention to is he improved EVERY year.
ISn't tossing it too the other team
And this is historical presidence for a QB performing "ok" and then BOOM big year. IE Joe Burrow
What he did wasn't luck. This wasn't recording stats tossing screens that people just took the distance
Joe Burrow had the NFL all pro team to throw too in Jamar Chase and Justin Jefferson (also and 2nd round pick in Terence Marshell)
Jayden Daniels had talent as well
What escapes some who start to mention the players around a QB and the play making ability of said players. They completely forget to evaluate the QB's ability. His throws, his ball placement, his decisions, his control, his reaction to pressure and bodies around him... and in that regard Jayden Daniels was historically good.
Again the big GREEN FLAG is how he got better each year. This has a historical precedence
This isn't a perfect prospect. I think the creator of this video talked about it perfectly. But I have him number 1. This is a QB i can see being a top 3 player in the NFL sooner than later.

@@shankdiddy9045 I have him at #3 behind Williams and Maye. Sure, he progressed every year. But so did a number of the other top 5 or 6 prospects; and some of those had multiple good/elite years. Second, with his frame, his reckless style of running is most likely going to get him hurt sooner than later. I see him as an RGIII type.

@@shankdiddy9045everyone loves to compare him to Burrow but burrow broke out his 2nd starting year, not his 5th like Daniels. He also did turn it over no idea what you’re talking about. His 1st year was his 2nd best year. 0 progression

      @@raidadave7840 I can't support Drake Maye higher than 4
      Mine is ...
      1 Jayden Daniels
2 Micheal Penix Jr (if medicals are good which reports say is)
      3 Caleb Williams
      4 Drake Maye
      5 Bo Nix
      6 Spencer Rattler
      7 JJ McCarthy
      logic behind this?
Drake Maye is the hope of something that isn't reality. The idea of Drake maye doesn't match the film of Drake Maye.. And I don't watch highlights i watch every snap in all 22 if i have it.. every false start.. every delay of game.. every incomp pass... i try to figure out why in the most OCD annoying way possible.
What i see from Maye is the reality of him doesn't match the narrative.
Big moments means something in football. Especailly at the QB position. Want to know what Drake mayes identity in big go to have it season on the line moments?... in the last 6 games of 2022 and 2023 combined he has lead UNC to 4 and 8. This isn't vs power houses..We aren't talking about Bama or FSU or Georgia... this getting swept in back to back years by NC State and Georgia Tech... losing at home vs Virgina... recording one top not recording a win in the last MONTH of the season except for Campbell (i legit keep forgetting Campbell is a actual college)... going 1 and 3 vs top 25 teams (win was vs 25th ranked MIA ).. losses combined score for 106 to 56 in those games (so if it was even remotely challenging default was him leading a team getting boat raced)... all typically in GOT TO HAVE IT moments. Everything on the line. These stats match the film... good physical tools.. good ability... up and down... and really down when you need his best!!!
This matters...capturing the moment matters. The idea that him going to say... the AFC East and all of a sudden life gets easier. That he will be able to have a punches chance with his "theme"
I can't rank him over Jayden Daniels who played vs more challenging defenses. In more pressure cookers with TV's tuned on him inspite of his defense... meanwhile Drake Maye vs lesser teams and he had NFL WR and run to work with accounts for less than half the touch downs.... MORE than double the turnovers.. was not displaying the "control"
I am very suspicious of him and can't rank him that high. Like the tools. But he is more of a "idea" than a actual bet i would make based on HIS play... which has been "meh"

@@raidadave7840 I know my rankings won't be picked this way. But toward the end of the season when people are talking "redrafts" and into the following season when the "redraft" talk is happening I think it will align this way.
