I like Nix's work ethic and I think that's a quality that's often overlooked. He strikes me as the type of QB that will put in the hours needed to succeed. I'd rate his floor somewhere around Derrick Carr (give or take) with the outside potential for an elite level ceiling like Drew Brees.

I think this guy is going to be an Elite QB if they just give him a shot. If he sits as a bench guy for years he will be a Nick Foles. But i think with work he can be someone like Phillip Rivers.
I mean foles has a superbowl ring and rivers dont 🤷♀
@@MaySpitfireRivers is just plain unlucky due to the simple fact that he played for the cursed Chargers. He always tried to make the most of it but it didn’t always work out for him, especially since the Spanos family were notoriously cheap with coaching hires and roster-building.

Good report, I agree with most of your points but I'm a big higher on his good traits than you are. I think you touched on it a little bit, but Nix is also incredible out of structure at times, and has the propensity to make a play when nothing is there. I saw this a lot on redzone RPO's, everything would be covered and he would make 2 defenders missed to throw across his body for a touchdown. This has been a trait he has had since high school, and you saw it a lot at Auburn especially as a true freshman. I agree they gave him easy looks, but the super encouraging part is he also did the hard stuff out of structure. Gives me more confidence at the next level than Penix does because of it, because Penix does zero of that stuff.
I like Nix a lot, but I felt your analysis was fair and unbiased...and probably accurate. Very nice job.

Maye looks special when he plays, you can tell. Im not saying hes going to be a star but he has special traits
@@adamwallace7638 yeah but I think everyone should know by now nix is probably a system qb not a lot of big time throws and a lot of “check downs” reminds me a lot of Brock purdy but more athletic and a better arm
66% of bo nix yards come from yac, he’s overrated asf, he’s a Brock purdy type player, only as good as the players around him

Well, as we all now know, my team is ----------gawd help us-------looking again, for a QB ; one who is capable of running our HC's Offense, because the former starter simply could not------would not-------will never-------run a structured offense ! It's just not what he does : add to that, he will be 36 y/o next season. SO. Here we are, once again. Bo Nix has been mentioned by numerous sports writers & talkers as our ideal 1st Rd pick at # 12. Well ! At now 77 y/o, & a dedicated fan from the beginning, 1961, I have seen my team trade for------& draft, QB's. We've won some : # 7, Jake Plummer, Craig Morton, Marlin Briscoe, Brian Greise, Charlie Johnson, & # 18. We've also had our Tebow, Paxton Lynch, Tommy Maddox, Steve Tensi , Trevor Semian-------on & on. Now, from what I've seen from 5 scouting reports on Bo Nix, I am convinced that it is impossible to see how an NFL career works out for this man. And, in as much as ALL COLLEGE QB'S are a shot in the dark , Bo Nix is right there : I have NO idea how he ,might fare , nor does anyone else. ANYONE !! So. What does my team do at # 12. ???? So happy you asked ! As fate would have it, there is the " trade that won't go away " , where The Browns get our # 10, for their 53rd pick. Then there is even more talk about a " super trade ' where The Browns get our # 10, & that 12th pick in Rd 1, & we get their 27th & 53rd this year, & their 1st next year.. In that scenario, taking Bo Nix is far more palatable if he's there. That goes even more so, for J.J. McCarthy. When picking a QB, no one knows. NO One . -----------------MJL, 77 Y/O
McCarthy and Penix are overrated. Honestly Drake Maye is a little overrated too. He looked like he regressed this season. Nix will have a better pro career than McCarthy and Penix for sure. I don’t know how anyone can watch McCarthy’s tape and say he’s better than any of these other top guys. He wildly inaccurate and can’t go through reads to save his life. After Stallions got exposed, McCarthy didn’t throw a td pass for 4 straight games. What did he have in the title game? Like 8-16 for 140 yards? Dude is the definition of overrated. Nix clears him by a mile.
Penix does everything better in structure than nix and is a more accurate passer and has a better arm

Speaking as a saints fan. I don't think Nix will go in the top 15 (but I'm also not a professional scout so what do I know), but if he's there... hard pass.
I just don't see anything about him that screams "NFL QB." He's got a good arm, decent accuracy, and good athleticism, but nothing stands out as remarkable.
Everything about him looks like he's the kind of "improv QB that relies on his team being better than the opponent so he has time to scramble and play backyard ball" that people want to call Pat Mahomes but usually ends up being Zach Wilson.
Also I don't see DA being ok with spending the 14th overall pick on someone who won't be an immediate impact player. He's well aware that his job is on the line this year.
They also made a big investment into Carr, which was a poor decision. Hopefully they can get an impact player that can help the next HC
