Functions of MO: Risk management control and compliance. I am happy that i am in compliance. MIDDLE OFFICE is like a leech ....MO is the controller of the trade executed at the Front office. Mo is risk management function. Its function is not to eliminate the risk but to reduce the risk to zero by using IT support. Mo is involved in regulatory compliance. Failing of any compliance result in high fine and or some time by suspension of trading. Trade booking : it take place at all the 3 office simultaneously. Trade enrichment: Adding more detail to the trade which helps bo to settle the trade easily. Trade validation is done by mo or bo. Here the trade is validated before sharing the details to the client trade confimation: done by mo o bo.
