Firearms are a natural right for any citizen in an independent nation like India. Threat to life is something that animals too instinctively throw their claws at, when sensed a danger. Think about it-our Constitution gives us the right to life and personal safety, but how can we truly exercise these rights if we’re left defenseless against threats? In a country as vast as ours, where law enforcement often can’t reach in time, owning a firearm can be the difference between life and death for law-abiding citizens. Let me give you some examples. In rural areas, people often face threats from people with not so good intentions, and waiting for help isn’t always an option. During riots or unrest, when the police are overwhelmed, innocent families are left to fend for themselves. In these situations, having access to a licensed firearm is not just practical-it’s necessary. Now, here’s the reality-no matter how strict the laws are, criminals will always find ways to get firearms illegally. We see it all the time in news reports. So, who ends up suffering? Not the criminals, but innocent, law-abiding citizens who are left completely defenseless because of restrictive laws. This imbalance is unfair and dangerous. Look at our history. During British rule, Indians were disarmed to prevent resistance. They couldn’t fight back, and that’s why disarmament became a tool of oppression. Are we going to repeat that mistake in an independent India by leaving citizens powerless? The current restriction on firearms is truly unfair, higher authorities often ask for bribe if a common man wants to get a firearm license otherwise his application is rejected, also there are so many unnecessary steps involving it which should be removed completely. This has made it nearly impossible for good law abiding citizens to acquire a license. Reducing restrictions on firearm ownership is about leveling the playing field. Gang violence is a serious problem in this country. Statistics shows that the number of illegal firearms reported & recovered are twice the number of licensed firearms. With that being said, no one knows how many go unnoticed everyday. When responsible citizens have the right to own firearms, it acts as a deterrent. Criminals think twice before targeting someone who can defend themselves. Countries like Switzerland and Israel have shown us that regulated but accessible firearm ownership can coexist with safety and low crime rates. This is not about promoting violence-it’s about empowering innocent law abiding citizens. With proper regulations, we can ensure that firearms stay in responsible hands. Reducing restrictions doesn’t mean everyone gets a gun; it means that people who genuinely need protection can get it without unnecessary hurdles. At the end of the day, safety should not be a privilege-it’s a right. And if we’re serious about protecting our people, we need to trust responsible citizens with the means to protect themselves.

for people you think you can compare USA law / police / rights with Indian laws and police thn keep dreaming, it took thm 250+ years to get here, thats why we hav are called developing nation and see people sh!ting on road.
so in short on women laws since they have been discriminated against in the past and still in rural areas, it means women in urban areas who are as evil as men in urban areas should be weaponized with these laws to take revenge and bend men to their will and ruin men's life, a new thing i learned was how unsafe under 18 boys are as well if their gf decides to ruin his life for breaking up. and looking at guest's attitude i can say he also thinks its fair and as long as 1 women is being discriminated against all men should be penalised because the entire gender is responsible.
problem with allowing guns is there are way more cuckoo people then just normal people trying to defend themselves and a lot of assault cases will turn into murder cases because now anytime one is loosing he will fire and also the guest said what if u find a theif who tries to rob u on highway, well in that case u will have a gun but the gang of 6 people will also have guns and thats evident from sidhu moosewala case.as a lawyer u have to make better arguments.
