It was a little amusing hearing you say "Idk what Dustin looks like I've never seen him" when unbeknownst to you, you'd literally JUST seen him in the "Halo" music video. he was playing the young version of the scientist guy (the father of the girl). it's not uncommon for Dustin to star in the music videos or pop up like an easter egg, so keep an eye out for him!
"My demons" got me into Starset. Absolutely one of my favourite songs. Personally what I think is interesting about Starset is a HUGE percentage of their songs are about loss, love, and everything regarding the two. Hell, most of the songs on Vessels (I think) are love songs: "Starlight", "Die For You", etc. I love everything about this band.
Transmissions is a 10/10 album for sure. It's personally my favorite out of their albums released so far. Also, i highly recommend listening to Dustins old band, Downplay. My Demons, Carnivore, Let It Die, Dark On Me, and Down With The Fallen were all supposed to be Downplay songs but were redone to be Starset songs. Theres no official studio versions for any song besides Down With The Fallen and Dark On Me. If you do end up checking out Downplay, i recommend Digging It Out, Goodbye, Where Did You Go, and Furious Again.
I went to their concert in Atlanta in May, where they played Brave New World for the first time. It was an amazing experience and throughout the whole show they played a story from the books between each song. If you're a reader, you should check out the books they've written, too. They are awesome. If you get a chance to see them live, DO IT, it will change you!!!
About your comment of Starset making soundtrack for video games. They did a song for a mobile game called Arknights. It was a single teased in a arknights trailer which became a part of the horizons album, the song is called Infected.
Bro is still hearting comments two weeks ago But seriously I keep coming back to this video whenever I'm feeling down. Your reaction, the album and the chat are all too good
I’ll have to say I heard the whole album from start to finish years ago & it was & is my favorite album by them. All the songs are really good, but “Down With The Fallen” is still my favorite song by Starset off their Transmissions album.
Starset does provide It's songs to a game called "Arknights" and I suggest you react to the Arknights PV's for the Starset songs, It fits like a glove with how the make the game PV's and It's how I got introduced to Starset in the first place!
I love that you are able to react to a whole album (and haven't heard most of them). It's so rare these days since bands like to release half of the album before it comes out. Or we go down a major rabbit hole and listen to everything a band has ever put out when we find a song we love. I enjoyed this so much and thank you for giving it a listen. It's a masterpiece for sure.
To be honest how I would rank their album, it would go Transmissions then Vessels and Divisions, Followed by Horizons. Transmissions is just iconic, no matter how many times I hear that album I don't tire from it. Vessels has some iconic stuff especially their acoustic counterparts of Ricochet and Telepathic. Divisions has got some of the kickback from transmissions with Manifest and Solstice. Horizon's controversy was that a lot of the chorus schema was about the same, that goes for Symbiotic and Into the Breach. But overall they are really great, especially their singles; infected(retconned they're part of the Divisions album signified by the lore themes.) and Earthrise. Fun fact one game's lore has got their lore influenced by Starset's lore, first it came from Carnivore's social message and themes, and when the devs of that game asked for a single for their game's anniversary they released Infected. You should check out their clean version of vessels it is an entirely different experience and Dustin's vocal and thematic range is just so diverse
The conversation towards the end about Horizons was interesting to me. I don’t actually think it’s heavy at all, other than a couple songs! The comment that the first half is stronger than the second half rings true to me too. I’ll be excited to see what you think!
We kind of were just giving out our thoughts on the album, but yeah in comparison the first half of the album is pretty good up towards Devolution, after that it was a bit inconsistent with its quality, like they're are some good songs in the second half Disappear, This endless Endeavor, something wicked, but most of the songs are just okay, idk some of them felt a bit underwhelming
@@fernandolemus5965 Somewhere I remember reading that Dustin said the label made them release the album before they were ready. And he said at a concert yesterday that they are in between labels…so maybe that’s why second half isn’t as good?
@@SFutureReacts make sure when you react to Horizons to watch the versions of ICARUS and SYMBIOTIC that have music videos! They didn’t have videos at first so the playlist you choose might not have them!
Told you that it's their best :) And Horizons is their album with the most use of synth/digital elements and autotune but not necessarily their heaviest^^
Just watched them a few days ago and they played 4 on this album. Halo, It has begun, Carnivore and My Demons! Spectacular! Halo was really awesome live! Next album should be early 2025!
Idk why everyone is saying horizons is heavy lol definitely not heavier than Ember. But it has heavy tunes for sure. But I still think Vessels is the heaviest. It has heavier starset elements, but don't get ur hopes up too much for the heavy side lol. I learned to keep my expectations lower as for their heaviness. I view it more of treat we get and when we do get it , it's nearly perfect
For Starset it is indeed probably their heaviest, but seeing their new single that dropped some days ago, we might get an even heavier album by Starset standards.

Ricochet and Frequency are about love and relationships as well.

That’s awesome! 🤘🏻🖤
The 5th album has been in the works for a LONG time now. Hopefully we get it later this year.
Hopefully! 🤘🏻🖤
@@SFutureReacts HORIZONS is my personal favorite album. I can’t wait to see your reaction to it, cause oh man…
Well today might have made that more likely

You should! 🤘🏻🖤
They go all out! I went to their Vessels tour twice and they dress the part too. Absolutely recommend

34:29 dark on me doesn’t get nearly enough love. It’s the song that got me into starset
That's my favourite Starset album without a doubt and one of my all time favourite albums
Great album! And great reaction! U defenetly gotta react to their newest album horizons.
Thank you!
I’m definitely going to sometime soon, possibly tomorrow but I’m not sure yet! 🤘🏻🖤
@@SFutureReacts ive got down time tomorrow.
Great debut album
Correction. Starset doesnt just make the best choruses. They make the best songs.
Touché 😂
NGL, Down with the Fallen makes me think of the Arkham Games (Batman) not the style or theme, but the message the lyrics.

@SFutureReacts for sure! And as for the menu sounding music, Dustin Bates is heavily inspired by Han Zimmer the Music Composer for movies
Mass effect Andromeda's trailer used starset
Down With The Fallen is still my number 1 favourite after almost 10 years of Starset

That’s fair! 🤘🏻🖤
