Bravo! Another super fabulous build, simple, elegant & beautiful layout, monitoring & use ability. +MC's Creations thanks buddy. Yes, I am waiting for some capacity testers. The battery are old but new battery's never been used, all holding 4.0v above voltage. So I just went for it :)
Good work, but just wanted to flag one thing. Once the batteries become hot (charging/discharging) the hot glue will melt and they will fall out of the board
My friend! Some may call you a person from a country of 3rd world, but from what I see in your videos, you are miles ahead from many lazy europeans and americans! If everyone around is like you, you will rule the world! Congrats, you do an outstanding job, your hands are golden! :)
Hi, i'm new to this powerwalls ! Planning to build a 150aH , 12v Power pack. Problem is, I've a 30A Solar charger which is meant for Lead-Acid batteries. Which charges the lead-acid battery at 14.28V ... How can i use this to charge my 12.6V, 150ah powerpack ?? Please guide me!
If your solar charge controller is flexible enough and will allow you to change the charging parameters then you can change your HVD and LVD to suit lithium-ion 18650 say in 3S configuration. I have done that apart from having a BMS connected to my pack
Wow very cool to show the basics in action! It should only charge to 4.2V max, better a bit below for better cycle life. I just wish there was a cheap BMS and balance charging circuit that can be monitored over bluetooth to easily make smart batteries with. Smart batteries are important but they are way too expensive and I think the problem is the lack of a simple circuit board to just connect batteries, have enough power, have BMS and charging in one AND be able to monitor your BMS and battery for problems.
great build. 4.4 volts is over-voltage for 18650s, you might wanna investigate. also using solder as a bridge... you could've easily made the wire a bit longer, or decreased the gap from battery to terminal. solder is intended to make a conductive connection, its nor rated like a wire for current.

Hi there! Great way of repurposing old laptop batteries. I had two old laptop batteries and repurposed then to 3s2p with the same BMS . I want to build a 100 Wh battery 🔋 with these old laptop batteries. It seems u have bought those old laptop batteries. Ali I've been working on electronics for all my life and been an electrical engineer for 30 years, the wire does not act like a fuse mate, while yes a fuse is essentially a wire that opens under load, but what your saying is the solder "wire" will act like a fuse? The only way that would happen is if the solder connection could be opened, only way possible is if it were melted and if you aren't melting it something is wrong with your batteries and you should call up your insurance asap as your house is about to catch fire especially with a powerwall like this. I suggest watching jehugarcia on how to PROPERLY connect 18650s, great scott also has some content on this, when you solder directly to the batteries you are increasing resistance and losing power.
NOTE! Used laptop batteries are often discarded because one or more cells have been either damaged or cant be charged to its full voltage. And a power wall is never stronger than its weakest link. If one of your batteries cant charge up as fare as the others all of the batteries suffer. Measure your batteries well and test them before throwing them together in a wall. Check out "jehugarcia" he talks a lot about it in detail :)
Hmmmmm have you not learned enough of capacity check before now?, He thought other ideas and never mention capacity test here, others have already done so. I learned how to check each park and that is enough benefit
You must be check capacity from all cell, then you can group it. You must all series pack the equal capacity! 4.4V is dangerous for 18650!
all cells have 11,7 from charger and 4,2 4,3 and 4,4 on single test? so what is wrong :D

for this type battery charging (18650)what solar charge controller which is better? PWM or MPPT and what brand do you recommend?
MMPT is 90%-95% full charge, while PMW is 80% full charge. Choose MMPT for solar charging.
Can you add parts list on description. Thx
Sure. Soon

It simple. Just look into 18650 articles. also I will be posting more videos in future.

What is a powereall
It's a battery for your home, it's cool when you have solar panel
what kind of charge controller is that? is it specially designed for lithium batteries?
It a BMS
MakerMan i am not asking about the small circuit, i mean the yellow charge controller
I am using a solar charger which is pwm
MakerMan oh pwm? am afraid this will over charge those lithium cells above 4.2v unless there is custom voltage setting.
That's true but with a combination with BMS it fine so far.

Very cheap, around 1$ per laptop battery.

where to buy old laptop batteries ?
Local computer shop or best option will be scrap yard

where do you buy the battery management system
AliExpress
Pointless to separate the parallel packs. That was a free balanced set. No capacity testing, IR testing, repackr…lucky to get 75% usable capacity

Spot weld is the best way to go, if that's too pricy don't solder straight wire just solder nickel ribbon at high Temps to the battery
