Awesome swinging bridge Coyote's! There used to be all kinds across the rolling fork river where I grew up but there's few left nowadays. I miss them and it's great to see a surviving one! Thanks for sharing it with us!
Thanks for sharing... love seeing the old places and it takes us back in almost a "lost time". I LOVE traveling thru Tenn., Kentucky and the Carolinas.... beautiful places to see. God Bless Yall up yonder!
Used to be a larger one at the Harlan/Bell line.there are car bridges at Dayhoit,Wallins,Coldiron,Hulen,Miracle,”bridge to nowhere “,Page and the 119 bride to 25e at pineville.
Cool video. It made me nervous just it move when y’all walked on it. And then to see that couple just come on across😅. Especially with those boards in the middle. 😢. Thanks for the video. 👍❤️
I really hope this bridge can be saved. It needs repair for sure but it's a piece of Harlan history and my student groups loved walking across it. It could be a great tourist attraction and it's very close to Blanton Forest
Up in Leslie Co. And I crossed Middle Fork River almost every day. That old swinging bridge is gone now. I live in Peru In. Now I think it's a shame that they don't re do this Bridge, especially since people still need it to go to the store. I know where that old store is, and I really enjoyed seeing this Video. I know the Grays that live in the other side of the river.
I enjoy your videos. Love the countryside you visit. I have been through most of the area's you show, on my way between New Tazewell tn. and going back to lickfork and Dorton Kentucky . Hope I see you on the road one day.
My Mamaw on my dad's side was, born and raised in Harlan but, my Pappaw took the family to The Toledo Ohio area Lucas, Co for the factory jobs that's where my mom and dad met and, married and had,me and my twin sister and brother in Ohio but, moved back south first Rogersville TN and then Coeburn VA coal country I love, this kind of history where my roots are,so thank u so much.
Love the video boy am telling you I don't know if I would have the nerve to Walk across that bridge thanks for sharing this video God bless y'all and papa coyote and have a wonderful upcoming week love y'all
I actually lived up on the hill above the bridge in the 70s, we got are water from the creek, my dad John d still lives in Dayhoit. We would walk from here to the old wayne drive
Wow! I think I remember hearing something about that in the news years ago but I didn't know that was the house. Wasn't the guy who went to jail elderly?
Guys I love your Videos. I was born in Pennington gap. I found you guys by looking up videos of Pennington gap. My parents moved to Florida when I was about 12. I’ve only been back there to visit one time. I’m taking my second trip back the week of July 22 this year very excited to see some sites that I’ve seen on your video
Spent this afternoon of March 25th , my Dad’s 79th birthday watching your videos. He said that was a good swinging bridge in it’s day and he said there’s usually a swag in the middle of a swinging bridge and that one was pulled tight. I wouldn’t be brave enough to get on it. I don’t even like walking across a bridge. Always afraid they are going to fall. 😬
In late summer 1996, we had our family reunion at the Boy Scout camp for the whole weekend. I took all my cousins & my kids to one of these bridge for a few photos. I always loved walking this one, a smaller one, I can't remember exactly where, but around Baxter & the drive across one over to Dayhoit. My younger son was 6 yo and I took the pictures with a disposable camera. I asked him to put the camera up for me since I had finished the roll. When we got home, I asked him where he had put the camera he said "I put it in the trash. It was disposible"😂 I can laugh now, but that was our last reunion with everyone. Btw, we LOVED the Boy Scout camp for a reunion and my nephew Cody's wedding and reception was there!
I love your videos. I found you on TH-cam when I was looking up videos of Pennington gap Virginia. I was born there. My parents moved when I was about 12 to Florida. I’ve only been back there one time to visit since then and I’m taking my second trip back the 22nd of this month, I’m hoping to visit some of the places that I’ve seen on your videos
I would find a different way to get to the other side. I remember seeing a couple other swinging bridges when I was kid and there is not enough money in the world to make me cross them when I was small or even now. Love the videos
I don't know if that's the same place or not but I think going up towards DeWitt midwives people used to have to go over that bridge to get to a doctor or get some help medical help.
Have you and Mrs. Coyote seen the exit to nowhere on I-75, Rarity Mountain Road? It’s on top of Jellico Mtn. What a waste of taxpayer money! But the view is something to see.
that was cool you caught them crossing the old swinging bridge, I agree they need to preserve that bridge, especially since it's regularly used
That couple was so nice but I do hope they'll be careful in the future crossing that bridge

Thanks Mitch!
My g-grand parents lived across the road from Marlows up on the lil hill there. The old house is long gone now. Thanks for the videos.

We still use this bridge all the time coming down the tracks from wallins to get to lay hill
Used to be a larger one at the Harlan/Bell line.there are car bridges at Dayhoit,Wallins,Coldiron,Hulen,Miracle,”bridge to nowhere “,Page and the 119 bride to 25e at pineville.
Used to be one that crossed the old 421 to grays knob…..wide for cars
There's another swinging bridge behind the old folks home (Tri Cities) on 119 at Cumberland. It's shorter but in good condition
Thanks we'll check that one out

Glad you like them!
Enjoyed it very much thanks. I lived in SW Virginia for many years !
I couldn't cross that bridge without thinking of the song by Patty Loveless " You'll never leave Harlan alive" 🥺

Great video Thank you for posting this, The man that lived in the house across the bridge went to jail over a mailbox, kind of sad story really
Wow! I think I remember hearing something about that in the news years ago but I didn't know that was the house. Wasn't the guy who went to jail elderly?
@@IgnitedCoyote my husband thinks he was around 80
We had swinging bridge in Manchester near my mamaws house years ago. I went across it and it was scary 😅 Must be a thing in Kentucky! LOL

Hope your father had a great birthday! Thanks for watching Amy
There used to be a swinging bridge between Manchester and Oneida on Route 11..I walked across it years ago....not sure if it's still there or not.
Thanks Scott!
I love this video thank you for visiting Bobs Creek.
i worked with a guy from harlan.he would say that the chickens
would have to hook their beak over a tree root to scratch. lol

Hey Mr and Mrs coyote hope you have a blessed safe week 😊
Thanks Mark, You too.

Funny how that that man and woman showed how brave they are..I think that hole needs wider boards to cover the hole 😊
Thank you 😊
There used to be a swinging bridge past Moo Cow curve. I went on it but I was always scared. My mom didn't know it. Lol
You're right, I remember it now.
@@IgnitedCoyote Rhonda and I and a bunch went on it. She always held on to me. 😇
My brother-in-law’s family owns the house across the bridge. You can drive beside the tracks from a nearby community to get to it.
Looks like it'd be a great place to live if you like privacy
I would find a different way to get to the other side. I remember seeing a couple other swinging bridges when I was kid and there is not enough money in the world to make me cross them when I was small or even now. Love the videos
Thanks Mary!
Years ago when we went to Pineflat church, as a dare my sister got on this bridge. I was far too scared.
Mrs Coyote needs more screen time. She’s a hottie!!
Thank you! But getting her in front of the camera is like pulling teeth
@@IgnitedCoyote That goes for both of you, Love the Southern accent, humor and would raise views.
Haven't you ever heard that it is not the fall that gets you but, it is the sudden stop at the end of the fall......???
LOL!
I don't know if that's the same place or not but I think going up towards DeWitt midwives people used to have to go over that bridge to get to a doctor or get some help medical help.
Enjoy it thanks 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Was one down from Old Bell Co high beforepineville randy smith lived by it in the 70s
We got one in Paintsville also, but it's been blocked off on both ends cause it is in worse shape than this one is !!
I'm a big guy and alone I weigh more than three people. I have no need to walk out on that bridge.
Looked safe
America baby👍
Cut the vines off it’ll be a lot safer the vines pull it down and they weigh a lot
That's a good idea Robert.
lol...Thats funny..WE use to cross one at Molus Ky and it had no sides..just cables. The flood of 1977 took it out!!
When I saw that pretty lady on the intro I got Click Baited .By a Sneaky Old Coyote ,I should of known better But thats what Coyotes Due Lol.got me .
I need to move down south with my relatived
Be careful guys
Come on. Get out in the middle and take a picture!
❤
Cut The Vines Off
Safe enough for me.
The county should repair the bridge or remove it. It's a death trap as it is.
You better get off that cowboy.
That thing looks scary.
I couldn't do that🤣!
Neither could we Shawn LOL!
Was always a little afraid of them!Scary!!
If you have any balance issues they'll play hell with it.
Thanks Gp
Scary
Yes it was Susan.
Have you and Mrs. Coyote seen the exit to nowhere on I-75, Rarity Mountain Road? It’s on top of Jellico Mtn. What a waste of taxpayer money! But the view is something to see.
