Just a general comment about Rodney Crowell. I'm a 65 year old Canadian woman going through dialysis waiting for a transplant. Hours at dialysis leaves me listening to old tunes. I'm on a Rodney Crowell kick, watching his old videos
What a gorgeous talented man with a smile, God that smile. I'm sad we all have to age and get sick but here's to the good old days

Completely agree. I was at Arlen Studios for performances that were happening there during SXSW several years ago and ended up sitting on a couch next to Rodney. I was so awed by him it took me what seemed like forever just to say hi because he was sitting there so rigid in his outfit he'd put on for his set which was coming up. To tell you the truth, it made me kinda nervous.
But when I finally got the courage to talk to him and tell him I'd booked his daughter Chelsea for an event a couple Sx's previous to that one, his face lit up, a kind twinkle in his eye and he indulged me, a humble music journalist for a few minutes and we chatted. He is, sincerely one of the nicest musicians I've met in Texas (and there are a LOT of nice folks here). Just a gem of a human being besides being one helluva songwriter. ❤

I was so fortunate in seeing Rodney Crowell Monday night [ 10/17/22 * WORD FOR WORD TOUR ] @ the intimate Globe Theater in Bertram, TX. He spoke of Guy with an opulent regard, honor & a mighty fondness. And seemingly there is a circle of friends that feel the same way. In the search of looking for GC's music I began the spiral down the rabbit hole, stumbling across this gem. I am now feeling that I can't get enough of him, along with that bunch of musicians. Once my check arrives @ the beginning of the month, I am going to allow myself the pleasure of renting yall's movie, I am so excited to see it. Tamara thank you in advance for such remarkable piece of art. Aren't we blessed in the fact music goes on ?

Thanks Tamara, I have lived for many years in the desert of west Tx after leaving Austin/Spicewood. 23 yrs ago. I grew up in Austin in the 70-80's and all the awesome mostly Tx music that was alive back then. Called the Third Coast because our music from all our talented musicians never really fit into the east and west coast style of the music business. Your film was a deeply felt product that touches many hearts. Fine work, Bravo. Every time I drive thru Monahans Tx I think of Guy.

I was raised in Kermit and got schooled in San Marcos. Long live Armadillo World Headquarters. Taught senior English at KHS for years and Wink too. Live in Colorado now and for the last ten years...play "hippie music" downtown six or seven nights a week in summer. I bet you knew Bill Ervin, my cousin. Nice saying hello to you...and these people in and mentioned mentioned in the vid are heroes to me.

I'm a real Guy Clark fan though I did not realize it till about 2010 when I zeroed in on Guy being the writer of Jerry Jeff's "Desperados Waiting for a Train", "Let Him Roll", "LA Freeway" and several more that were all actually my favorites of Jerry Jeff and most of which I met back in 74-75.
Thanks for all the work ya'll did in getting the history out there and hopefully, I'll get a chance to watch the whole movie someday.

Susanna had the ability to steal your heart with her smile. And you'd just know that by some cosmic power her eyes could see directly into the depths of your soul.

I'm a retired pilot and saw Mr. Crowell several times on my plane. He is quiet and polite. New here, I had to research Guy Clark. Wikipedia: Guy Charles Clark (November 6, 1941 - May 17, 2016)[1] was an American folk and country singer-songwriter and luthier.[2][3] He released more than 20 albums, and his songs have been recorded by other artists, including Jerry Jeff Walker, Jimmy Buffett, Kathy Mattea, Lyle Lovett, Ricky Skaggs, Steve Wariner, Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell, Steve Earle, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and Chris Stapleton. He won the 2014 Grammy Award for Best Folk Album: My Favorite Picture of You.

Hilarious! I got to see Guy Clark one time at Merlefest in the early 2000’s. The Red Stick Ramblers followed Guy (I’m from Baton Rouge). Saw Doc and Vasser and Rowan and Bela and Scaggs and many campfire musicians and had a bunch of fun. Guy Clark was the highlight for me 🙂

So weird how Townes and John Denver's lives were so similar. Both were born about the same age, both died about the same age. Both had substance and marital problems. Both were extremely talented. Both were extremely sensitive. Both were probably Bi-Polar. Both were incredible songwriters, Both were great singers. Both were great acoustic guitarists, Both were born into prominent families. Both played music that wasn't quite folk but not quite country. Both had high IQs. Both were natural leaders who other musicians wanted to emulate. I guess you could call John and Townes spiritual soulmates.
