    Hi Nic, I have done all of those from the start - except free shipping (with a handful of exceptions), and sales are shocking right now. Will watch the other tips video, keep ‘em coming. eBay you may take out sales but you’ll never take our optimism, lol!🤪

    Yup to 1, ish to 2, nope to 3, how the hell (?!?) to 4, hmm to 5
    I find white backgrounds off-putting when I'm buying. Buying vintage, I want to see the thing in context, not floating in the air. Quality of photo is also more important to me when buying potentially unique items.

    It doesn't mean you have to use 24 pictures for a CD. You just have to use one more than your competition.
    You don't have to run faster than the tiger; you just have to run faster than your friend.

    So - you quite correctly raised a riot over your treatment by ebay. To try and mitigate the problem you have these wonderful personal conversations with ebay. You then broadcast this advise to your viewers. "Honest and frank conversations" - probably called click bait in other areas. WHY haven't Ebay broadcast this to everyone through their messaging systems. We were already aware of these "tips" by keeping up to date with ebays suggestions. Has it ever crossed your mind that you are being "used".

    Hi Nic you've known about these tips for around 6-8 weeks, as you bought them up when you spoke with the eBay chap when you had your account frozen.
    Have you done/tried any of what you've just said..... If so have you noticed a difference in your sales? Old stock clearing or things like Impressions?

    As a buyer there is nothing more frustrating than duplicate images! Who wants to see the lead image duplicated 23 times? It's a waste of everyone's time! So I say more images yes, duplicate images no! Great video.

    I take 2 pics of the 1st pic then use the ebay background remover tool on the 1st one, I put N/A in the item specifics that are not relevant to that item, when doing pics of media 2 of top view then 1 of each side, then open it and 1 of it open, then 1 of manual and disc and then the back of case. These are some of what ebay told me to start doing. Make sense I guess

  • @johnnyfortycoats2219
    @johnnyfortycoats2219 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Please don't be telling people to stick anything in item specifics or to repeat photos. The whole point is for eBay to identify quality listings. It has to be relevant item specifics and useful photos. If bad sellers use it as a lazy hack, eBay are going to have to find a way of ignoring those junky listings.

    Thanks Nic. I've just listed some CDS overkill 24 pictures and all fields filled in to experiment. And success all the CDS come in the top 10 searches. However when you use lowest price option the biggest cd seller on ebay cannot be beaten. But your theory should work on all items if its worth the time to overkill the listings 😂😂😂
    Overkilled CD listing is number 1 when searching. (Shake it Dance Floor Classics cd)
    No 1 listing when searching (happy Christmas 20 classic Christmas Tracks cd)

    I’ve done both free shipping and not and tbh I never notice the difference. Plus free shipping sellers just add the postage to the listing.
    I notice you list items around £5 with free shipping I mean it can’t be worth the hassle to list an item t once shipping and fees are taken off
    White background I’ve tried again no difference. Photos like you said you can only post so many photos of certain items. Imho items sell no matter how you list if someone wants the item
    Some items sell straight away where others take stars no matter how you do your listing

    Hi Nic. Your tips are great. I dont know though whether it would apply to my store. Firstly I always search with the lowest price and postage filter. that would erase most of those points. I also list that way look for the competition based on lowest price sell similar and adjust the price accordingly. most of my items are free shipping, but white background? when I list media I try and fill the picture so there is no background....

    First I want to take a moment to say I watched your other video about "sell similar" versus relisting stagnant listings. Great advise. I didn't know about listings being stagnant after days. It took SO long to go through my stagnant listings, end them, and sell similar. I'll do this on a regular basis so I don't have such a backlog of stagnant listings. Now for this video, I knew it was a good idea to use all the characters in the title, but I didn't know about word order. I was sort of doing everything covered in these tips, but now I will be sure to follow these instructions. Thanks for providing this information.

    Keywords in title first five important.
    All others suggestions do all those and my sales are the worst they have been in 24 years of selling on ebay . Even promoted listings at 10% doesn't do anything. My page impressions are down nearly 4 million and page views down 4000 . I sell mainly clothing and the free for private sellers is killing it. Just make it 5% fee for business sellers to give us a chance.

  • @vidfletch
    @vidfletch 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    ALL my listings have "FREE POSTAGE". Of course, this is nonsense. When I research COMPS, I take into account the total prices paid by buyers. An item might be £6 plus £3.99 P&P by one seller. Another might be £9.99 inc P&P. They are the same price to buyers! Any seller worth their salt should know their postage and packing costs and know if they have enough profit built in. Or.... making so much profit that even getting it slightly wrong wouldn't matter too much. "FREE POSTAGE" is psychological. Most buyers are fooled into thinking they are getting something for nothing. If you don't know all your costs in this game, you shouldn't be in it.

    I don't think you need a ton of pictures for media, but you should probably try to have more than most of your competition. For used media I usually take an overhead shot of the front and back, at least one inside shot, and then an angled shot of the front and side (which helps me find it).

    Many thanks again Nic for sharing the eBay endorsed tips, they were mostly new to me although I have already been doing the Titles, Backgrounds (I do use grey as well though as I find it gives a better colour balance) and number of pics. I also use 'Sell one like this' a lot based on higher priced sold listings as it is easier and I figure that as they have sold then something must be right with them.

      For example if I want to buy a book I put in the title of the book and the author and then filter by 'Lowest Price + P&P' - Then I buy the cheapest one at the condition level I prefer (Most probably from World of Books!!!!!) not the one that E-Bay wants to put at the top of their list because it has been so well listed and photographed but costs however much more

    I’ve never understood why people charge shipping, it’s so much easier to just combine it in the price, and if you’re shipping cost is a make or break then you can’t be making enough profit on that item anyway.

    • @waverideraus4882

      Different types of marketing, many buyers will overlook shipping costs as they are used to paying them, and that pair of jeans may look like a better eye catching bargain of $20 plus $10 shipping, than the pair at $30 free post. ..Yay I paid $20 for these, bargain, vs these cost me $30. Simple perception.

    • @Dirlewanger44

      Free shipping on items under a certain amount just doesn’t work for example item valued £10 free shipping so listed for £13.50 or £10 with with shipping at £3.50 or lust at original price at £10 free shipping and take a hit on postage
