@@philfromcave Very cool "pockets" of unusual rocks just on the outskirts of Las Vegas. I used to walk my deerhounds in remote areas rarely seeing other people, very close to town and have found incredible rocks and fossils. Great fun. Stay safe on your adventures, I'll be watching.

Looks like banded rhyolite or banded ironstone. Great agates for sure and monsters too! You gotta cut some of those and show us what NZ has to offer!

Southern Nevada looks the same by Red Rock Canyon. No water but old river and flood zone.
