    If i consider the speed of the tuscany from the previous video to be 20m/hr (I make a rough assumption from the speed during its escape) then in km/hr the speed would be around 32km/hr approximately.
    The leviathan was able to match that speed but it can move even faster but i'll consider 25km/hr to 30km/hr as its speed when it took 3 minutes to pass completely.
    Average speed 27.5km/hr or 7.63m/s
    Time taken= 180 seconds
    Approximate lenght of the beast 1373 meters
    Please correct me if you find any mistakes.

    Conspiracy theory, this story actually happened. Who remembers when there was that whole thing of the roar that bellowed through the ocean and we recorded it, but couldn’t figure what it was?

    • @ryanreckers4868
      @ryanreckers4868 6 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      Yea it is called the Bloop recording. Some scientists say it was caused by an animal larger than anything known to mankind. And some scientists say it was caused by glacial ice breaking of Antarctica and slipping into the ocean. Personally though I believe it could have very well been a beast of unimaginable size.

    • @lestatcomedante3907
      @lestatcomedante3907 6 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I think it's likely that that is one of the inspirations for this story.

      I would have to agree 1000%. Just think, the ocean has the potential to harbor massive deep water creatures beyond our imagination! That to me is fascinating yet absolutely terrifying! It already has huge animals that are known and well documented, but what other massive beasts does the dark abyssal depths hide and will we ever know? Or better yet do we really want to know? Maybe there are creatures so massive and horrifying that it's better we not know of their existence and they ours.

    • @kari7403
      @kari7403 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      NOAA are the ones to discover the Bloop in 1997. But in 2012 I believe, they are also the same ones that came out and announced it was glacial ice breaking away. They have recorded somewhat similar recordings since then. I'm pretty sure most scientists agree unanimously that it is ice. Although, there are a few other unexplained aquatic noises recorded that still have yet to be explained... Maybe something is out there still...

    • @hangingwithmatty9465
      @hangingwithmatty9465 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Well if there actually was this recording ( the bloop...?) then whatever story the 'scientists ' came up with will be 100% dis information

    Easily one of the best ways that I pass time and entertain myself when pulling all-nighters or long drives is listening to your videos. I was excited to hear the continuation of this and definitely wasn't disappointed. You did excellent work between music, accent, and the tone you conveyed with the various characters speaking. Please know that you do incredible work and I hope that you continue to put out this awesome content.
    Your accent work as an American is excellent, Natures, but if I can provide a piece of advice: Agincourt isn't pronounced quite how its spelled. Its pronounced much softer than that, closer to, "Ajin-core". Or at least that is the best way I can explain it without being able to vocalize it. I only bring it up because it was - sort of grating at me. But basically it sounds like a bastardized mix of a 'z' and 'shin' sound. And Ensign is pronounced "En-sin" - its a US Navy rank equivalent to a 2nd Lieutenant.

    Great narration, as always. I just have to frown at the tactics used to fight this thing. They should have armed several remote submersibles with nukes, then sent them into the mouth of the leviathan as the guy did in the first story. Then they could detonate those nukes in different places of the body for maximum effect.

    The reading was well done. The research on the writer's part was a bit lacking. The Navy would not send an Ohio class missile sub on a mission where speed was critical. A Los Angeles class attack sub or the newer Seawolf class would be much faster and more maneuverable.

    • @professorcaveman4081
      @professorcaveman4081 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Personally, it seems to me that in the state of confusion they'd have been in, and with a lack of understanding of what the hell was going on, that actions wouldn't have necessarily thought out, and in my head I can see ways to excuse fuck ups as slight as that. But I actually don't know whether I would have noticed that without you pointing it out! When you see the specs and all it would make more sense but again, people make stupid mistakes, especially under pressure such as having a creature churning up the GODDAMN PACIFIC OCEAN! But yeah, things could have gone a whole lot better, or even worse, with the leviathans whole rage issue.

      It's a leviathan, not a giant octopus.

  • @dacian.dan.13
    @dacian.dan.13 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Based on the earlier (part 1) claim that this creature could comfortably nest inside a ~1000m diameter cavern with enough room to stretch its tentacles and rapidly maneuver to the exit, as well as it taking out an Ohio-class with its tentacles and its maw... If it's a squid type, it's probably 2500-3000m long (tentacles fully extended at hunting speed) with a diameter of about 350m. If it's a cuttlefish type, the diameter can go beyond 500m.
    It has to use vectored water jet propulsion through a funnel, much like any cephalopod molluscs currently known to man. That would explain the violent riptides and turbulence encountered when tracking it down during its movements.
    If it's a cuttlefish type of creature, disabling it may be done easily by bait subs equipped with thermonuclear payloads. A 455 KT W-88 Trident warhead will create a flash fireball of ~375m radius and a 1 MT Minuteman W-59 Mimuteman-I will flash anything within a ~500m radius.
    Underwater conditions and the environment within the leviathan will limit the fireball diameter, but the damage will be increased by the pressure wave reflecting back down from the cuttlebone surface, practically twice-gutting the creature and likely doing enough grievous injury to disable it.
    If it's a squid type, the absence of a bone shelf will allow the shockwave to propagate spherically, probably tearing the body apart and effectively bisecting the leviathan, causing catastrophic damage to axial nerve bundles and inducing death or at the very least motor paralysis.

    They should pull back and leave the behemoth alone. At its size, the amount of energy it takes to move far surpasses what energy food it could gain from food. This is why it was sleeping when the first person found it. The leviathan will starve and go back into a self-imposed hibernation.

    Ever wonder why ancient people's talk about huge giant sea monster's and even giant's on the land? Thousands of years ago writing was considered serious and only facts were written so the giant stories are real. Millions of years ago just about everything was huge and that's going off of bones we've found so it's not that much of a stretch to say some things haven't been discoved yet and some giant sea creatures could exist. There's fish that never stops growing depending on the habitat so those undiscovered creatures may be the same.

    • @smurfpoppin4470
      @smurfpoppin4470 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ballistic missiles on subs are always armed with nuclear warheads thats why in the story they stated it wouldnt be appropriate to use them bc yes it would work but a nuke's great blast would be enough to kill everyone within 5 nautical miles of the blast, keep in mind these nukes are modern day thus their optimal range is vastly bigger then what we would assume also blasts of any kind underwater is vastly larger effective range due to the close proxy of the particles bc its liquid and not gas. so ballistic missles would be suicide for everyone except for maybe the dixon but thats questionable.

    • @keithroy7884
      @keithroy7884 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can't just detonate warheads at a moment's notice. There are systems to prevent detonating even torpedoes until they reach a safe range from the sub.

    A military submarine can go no where near 15,000 ft deep most max out around 700

    • @GeneralKenobiSIYE
      @GeneralKenobiSIYE 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They weren't in a combat sub. They were supposed to lure it up TO the sub. Plus, the actual maximum depth of the USN's Attack and Ballistic subs is classified. 700 feet is not accurate. Even the USS Scorpion wasn't crushed until it went past twice its test depth which WAS 700 feet. The latest Seawolf and Virginias are made of much more advanced/stronger materials as well as having much stronger designs. The Seawolf has a claimed test depth of 1,600 feet, but the actual depth is classified, and it is likely that the actual crush dept is over 3,500 feet. If the Thresher Class had a TEST depth of 1,300 feet and the Sturgeon Class was 1,350, while the Los Angeles and Virginia are claimed as 800 feet, then these are clearly NOT the actual test depths. The Seawolf has a test depth of 1,600 feet though, so its actual depth is probably around 3,000 to 3,500+ feet or more while the Los Angeles and Virginias are probably 2,500 to 3,000 feet. So given all that, 700 feet is child's play, even for a Skipjack Class from the 1950s.

      Are you getting your information from declassified schematics and test results? If so, you're way off bud. US Navy Sailor here, better yet I work in Intel, depth of a sub is something we research when learning our Navy's capabilities. The crush depth of our subs is classified at TS, or top secret. The new information that was released is at the very least, 1/4 century out of date, as that us the minimum for a declassification date.

    I was cheering for the Leviathan to win honestly It's kinda disappointing that humans won since they're the once that disturbed it, it possibly could be a creature that has lived for millions or even billions of years bu they just try to kill it and put it into their museum, I'm not trying to be edgy but I will say humans really ruin everything

    I hope that there's something so Eldritch on this planet that we cannot hope to destroy it, even with another 100,000 years of technological advancement. Something that even God could only contain.

    We wouldn't risk a lieutenant on a mission like that. It would be a Seaman or a 3rd class petty officer, or a chief at the most.
