Thank you for making this video 💚Hope mine with grow as big as yours. Florida variety also has variegated bananas, the shape is different, has stubby square ends instead of smooth round end like Aeae's.
Thank you for the great info, Elvy! May I know what humidity are you providing? How long does it take for this ae ae to grow from 12 inch to this size?😀
I’m also in the PNW Love the Musa ae ae videos I have several Also “Aurea” and “mint” But I want a “Nam Wah” where can I acquire it? You say locally, I’m in Seattle also Thnx P
Hello and thank you for this helpful video! Can you tell me this?i have a 5 inch baby Florida Musa that I just received. I have a heating pad that stays on, as in not on a timer. But it's only got one heat setting, high. I put a hand towel and then a wash cloth over the heating pad and set the plant on top of that. I felt it and it's not hot on the bottom and sides of the pot, but I just warm. Is that good? And if so, how long should I do that? It's not in a greenhouse, just a very sunny warmish room. .
Hello, great video and beautiful variegated banana plants! Could you pleas tell me where can I obtain one of the withe variegated banana plant? Thank you in advance.
Hello, I bought my musa banana plant from Thailand. When it arrived, it was healthy but as soon as I removed the sphagnum moss and transplanted, all the leaves went down and drooped. The leaves started dying so I cut off all the leaves. What should I do now? Do you think it will live?
Mine did the same thing. I cut all the leaves and put it in a pot with just the growing tip left out. After a few weeks it started to sprout a new tip. Since it’s winter it takes a little extra time to get established.
Thank you!! I’ve been searching for care tips for this specific species. Mines as tall as yours but it only has 1 leaf since I got it in end of august 😭 Hoping it survives winter. Interested in buying a sucker from you!
@@Elvykiung if you do grow suckers let me know :) My plant was grown indoor and it did end up dying unfortunately 😔 despite giving it perfect requirements! It just doesn’t do well indoors
@@currlyycarleyy you writing this makes me not want to buy it. Its my dream plant though. 😔 I know I won't be able to keep it happy indoors in mostly cold Massachusetts. Our summers are short and our spring is very cold. It wouldn't survive outdoors.
Thanks this video, it's very informative~ I wanna ask a bit, is there a way to tell whether the leaf browning came from overwatering / too much sunlight?
it may be Florida. People told me mine probable a Florida as well. When the mother plant grow pup, they have two different pup and one of it is more pointy. I'm not sure which better
@@Elvykiung can you use a soil based potting mix? I heard that you use just perlite and peat moss. e.g. could you use peat soil medium, bard, perlite and coir?
Lot of plant has been mutated lol. Like apple the grower keep modifying the genetic of the plants so you will have bigger fruit. Genetic mutation not a disease it still a healthy plant 😊. I have meet a friend who own mother of apple 😊 the fruit is so small but it’s really cool to know the origins of one plant

Good to know somehow the Florida is cheaper and the fruit don’t have strip ?

Banana is hard. My experience is limited but I do plant them directly to soil mix when I got it. Keep it humid and warm
綺麗♥️nice
I would like to buy some of these bananas, can you tell me where I might find? I live in Thailand! Is there a website for purchase? Thank you!
Sorry I don't know where to get it in Thailand. Mine not from Thailand
Hi. Maybe you won't post 1 musa florida rhizome to Hungary?
I read online that these turn back to green if not kept in acidic soil. Do you think that is true? Thank you. Loved the video
I'm not sure. first time growing banana too :)
Great information about the soils thank you!
Glad it was helpful!

If it over water the leaf will turn translucent before brown
Thanks for the video ! It’s one of my wishlist! How did you reroot them ? :)?
I was lucky just plant them in soil mix directly
Thanks for the information on this variegated Musa. I just purchased one from Indonesia. Do you think it's safe to assume it will be a 'Ae Ae" Musa?
No. Only way to be sure if you see the fruit
@@Elvykiung okay, thank you for your help.

i have an aeae now its small though. what light did you give your aeae when it was young and small?
It’s quite strong. Possibly around 1000 fc. It’s under sunblaster grow light.
@@Elvykiung can you use a soil based potting mix? I heard that you use just perlite and peat moss. e.g. could you use peat soil medium, bard, perlite and coir?
It’s depends on your location. If you live in hot humid climate outdoors I’ll say yes. 😊
For your heat Mat what did you have the temperature set at ? And how many hours a day did you keep it on the mat?
it is 24hrs no temp set
This banana plant is definitely Florida. From the leaf shape and colour :)
thanks! I was told that too. It is so hard to get true aeae T,T
Hi, which website u ordered online ? Because I want order too

Are you selling cuttings of it? 😂🤞
Yes some of them. 😊
@@Elvykiung how do I buy from you

Variegation in plant is a genetic mutation, for better or for worse.
I’d be afraid to consume any fruits from a genetically mutated tree... 😳 lol
