The challenge is wintertime… but in normal tropical condition, I feel its the same indoor and out. In fact I had better control of plant care indoors. It depends on the person too.
Your enthusiasm is contagious. I love all the beautiful pots you have. I’m very excited about a new monstera adansonii I got from a neighbor, thank you so much for this information :D
I recently got one like this...they called it a mint, some are also calling it Indonesian marble! What I learnt from researching this plant is that the varigation is stable unlike the albo and tricolour varieties.
New to ur channel, I love adansonii, I like ur presentations loud n clear, l love to garden, now retired so I got involved more into it , good luck thx for sharing
Hi Sean, I just love watching your videos because you are so funny and passionate about caring for your plants and you're right, everyone should put their heart into their plant care. I do, it's my fav thing to do, my hobby and my zen time. Thanks for another great video n God bless you!😇🙏🌿
Great video 😊 I want a variegated one so bad!!! I just got my first lil baby a few months ago and I propegated and had some sticks and just threw them into the water with the cuttings and they started to grow shoots so I planted them 🤷♀️ they are huge already and I wasn't even sure it would work LOL I LOVE it!!!!!!
I really enjoy Sean's clear presentation of Monstera Adamsonni Care and Propagation. Very Challenging. Hi Beautiful arrangement of plant pots greenery in their proper habitat. Tita Ots a.k.a. Judith B. Anam. Jaro, Iloilo City, Philippines. You made my day. Happy and Stress-Free.
Omg Sean I came home with a new plant today and what are the odds, it’s a monstera adansonii (not verigated but I love it). How cool was it that your video came out the same day, I’m so blessed to have this as a guild. And yes, I had a naughty leaf growing through another leaf. I will make a moss pole and hopefully it will grow to have large leaves. Thank you again, I so appreciate you.
Another excellent video. You have the MOST informative videos that I have found. Thank you so much. And I agree, These are SUPER fast growers. Mine has grown ~1’ in a month!
Very informative ... a proof of high success survival rate the way you did the propagation in organic way👍 I will prepare my Adansonii for air layering before pruning. thank you very much👍
Sean, dude,....you are the propogation whisperer!!! You must think about sharing with all of us in the US. We don't have clear access to these beauties. Love your videos and instruction. Nice work.
I think Monstera Adansoni has really strong vitality. Even if you plant plastic yogurt bottles or small pot soil, they breed well. Thank you for the precious video.
One of my favorites! I got a 'mint' varigated. I'm looking for an albo adansonii. I found with my aeroid mix I can't overwater them. It's not overwatering that's the problem, It's the compact soil people use. I use a mix without soil, just bark, perlite, sand, coco chips, etc.
Hi Shawn, I'm you're avid follower from the Philippines. I'm a plant collector and seller as well, that's why your propagation videos and care of different plants are very helpful. Thanks!
Today I rescued one from BIG W. A few leaves had tears but still thriving, but the other Monstera Adansonii looked not so well cared for. Once I got home I misted it and watered it straight away because the soil was so dry and almost stiff. But I think it will be happy and thriving with me.
this plant was also my 1st entry to being a proper plant ma w intention and commitment. appreciate the care tips as I think yes it also went thru trial and errors w me. as usual loving the captions.... ooo, sean what are you advertising ...no, I dont have small hands woahahahahahahaaa.... I hear ya - moss moss moss! okay, I am getting onto it now as I watch your video on sunday plant day walking ard tiny flat w my ever growing collection. listening, watching and watering my green babies!
First time plant mom of Monstera Adansonii cuttings given by a friend in water propagation It has 4th leaf unfurled with fenestration 4wks old in my care.
I'm so glad you mentioned that they can turn yellow in water propogation. Mine immediately turned yellow and I've been so worried about it. But it's already growing a new growth
Hello! Thank you for the great idea for the temporary moss pole! I have a small variegated arrowhead plant that I wast to put on a pole but she's way too small for a regular size pole.
I can't stop buying monsters adensonii whenever I have extra money. I am addicted to this plant and I really love this plant though it's not. Variegated
I love that you like sharing with others! in a new subscriber. i feel that you taught me lots of info on what i call a 'swiss cheese' plant. ive tried many plants, killed each one. i was not giving them enough sun, and probably too much water. Thank you.
Those look so good and healthy. I thought they could grow in low light like my monstera deliciosia is doing just fine. but I will try introducing it to more light now.
Thanks for another great video sean, i have two young ones i grew from seed i managed to buy, only on there 4th leaf no holes yet and certainly won't be cutting any time soon!, but when do i will come back to this video
I propagated my adansonii in February and now I have soooo many babies. I have leaf propagated, stems in perlite, stems in a bag of water, in glasses... they all are sprouted and some in aroid mix already. They grow so fast I have a little anxiety thinking about how to pot it all. On top of that the mother is producing so much after the dramatic cut. I still have a narrow form to manage too.
New to houseplants and I love the monstera. I’ve been slightly struggling with this one I think from transplant shock. Great video with really good info.
I'm worried about my adansonii but I hope after watching your video looks so easy to take care 🙂 I probably over water it and I transfer right away to big pot 😅so I will transfer to terracotta pot. Thanks Shawn!
I haven't been to your channel in a while, happy to see it grow, or at least your efforts. Are you living someplace new? All that cutting was definitely not at your apartment balcony.
What is the best soil/soil mix I should use for repotting mine I bought it online and I don’t know what soil to use :( THANK YOU.. I love your videos!! Very explanatory!!
I use aroid potting mix which is chunky and demands almost daily watering. But this is an easy plant and can take any mix you throw at it so long as you make sure it is completely dry between watering. If its happy in the store bought media I would also keep it there first
ok thank you, sorry I got aerated and Aroid confused with the 2, I ended up making my own mix from a recipe online. But please, how do I keep the sphagnum moss wet? It seems to be drying within a day. Also are your Monstera Adansonii plants indoors or outdoors?
Hello! I am new to monstera here and just gotten my first monstera which is adansonii!!~ (quite excited) I would like to ask some quick questions if it is possible 1. Can I cut and propagate them before the newest baby uncurl itself, or should i wait for it to uncurl and mature before propagating the upper portion? 2. do i need to wait for the cuttings to callous before planting it into a water or a soil or a sphagnum moss propagation? All in all, your thorough video was very insightful though it's long but it serves its length well with the follow ups all in one!!! Thank you very much!! I was enjoying myself doing this research on this plant while watching your video!!~
Hello, i would wait for the new leaf to unfurl first. Also, Ive never let the would callous over, I stick them right into water and they are one of the highest success rate Ive got. Adansoniis are just do easy to propagate.
@@onlyplants Thank you very muchh!! Sorry for the random beginner questions posted and thank you very much for responding to mee!! Thanks alottt, am realyl really grateful!! Really really excited for this one~~ (only if there are no mealybugs infestation, ill leave it as it is :'))

I got mine last year from planterina and it died back and its stims are thin I really wanted this plant and cant find it locally and I want but any online again . Well maybe some day I will get another one yours are so pretty I have it in good light dont over water it IDK thank you for sharing . Lisa from Chattanooga Tn
Everything grows better outdoors Or in greenhouse the real challenge is getting plants to grow indoors
The challenge is wintertime… but in normal tropical condition, I feel its the same indoor and out. In fact I had better control of plant care indoors. It depends on the person too.
Verdade a única planta que ficar bem dentro de casa sem problema é a Zamioculca .
your peaceful attitude is contagious. some people are so afraid to trim their plants, this is wonderful!
Hehe ive learnt that plants love to be trimmed. The mother plant will push out multiple vines like a medusa.
I don’t know anyone else who calls roots cute. I love it!
🤤
From you I've learned when to propogate in water vs. moss vs. soil. So far I have 100% success. Thank you Sean 🙏
I swear my heart slowed as you cut lower and lower. My brain knows it will bounce back well, but my heart still hurt! Beautiful!!!
I kept shouting "stop" but he won't hear me.🤭
Your enthusiasm is contagious. I love all the beautiful pots you have. I’m very excited about a new monstera adansonii I got from a neighbor, thank you so much for this information :D

Oh my, I've been struggle with Adansonii for weeks now. Watching your video really help me with my baby adansonii. Thank you💚
I recently got one like this...they called it a mint, some are also calling it Indonesian marble! What I learnt from researching this plant is that the varigation is stable unlike the albo and tricolour varieties.
Yes my albo one reverted and I lost it despite propagating it multiple times
Love your passion and teaching skill. Thanks for allowing all of us to participate and learn.
🥰
What a great idea this mini starter pole and "go with your heart" approach!☺
Took your advice, gave my adansonii a moss pole, it’s now giving very large/massive leaves and growing much fast. Thank you so much

Thanks Tommy 😀
My adansonii succumbed to a fungal infection and I'm motivated to try again with a new healthy adansonii after watching your beautiful plants!!
Try wet stick propagation if you have those bare stem with nodes 😀
I just got my Adansonii this week. Perfect timing Sean !

They are so very resilient actually. Their biggest enemy is overwatering but they can take a wide variety of conditions!

My nanay just cut her adansonii which also outgrown its pole..and was so fascinated seeing 4 new growth points..😅
I'm so glad you mentioned that they can turn yellow in water propogation. Mine immediately turned yellow and I've been so worried about it. But it's already growing a new growth
Ooo yeah most people throw away their yellowing cutting but the node is the most important thing
Wow beautiful adansonii

Those look so good and healthy. I thought they could grow in low light like my monstera deliciosia is doing just fine. but I will try introducing it to more light now.
Ooo they need more light than the deliciosa. Because they have very few surface area on the leaf for photosynthesis due to the holes
