I does cook Dhal with Ochro it don't get slimey don't cut the 2 edge take them out swizzle then add. Back I'm 69 learn from my grand mother🙏
Traditional Indian and African people never use to use spoon was hand for everything tha spoon thing was introduced to us, I agree with you Shanty wah we know bout TSP an tbsp is "HAND"
Ms Shanty dhal with the ochroes brings back fond memories of my grandma. Mama you used to make her dhal like that and of course the three fingers joint by joint depending of what you cooking well that was her measuring spoons also .I also how Ms Shanty handle the cooking of the food ,she always put a lot of love in it plus everything is done in a clean manner .
🌸 my mom did it with bitter gourd but left it as condiment to add, I didn’t realise you can fry okra 😊✨

Hi Shanty. I am from India. I have two queries. Is the powder you call Saffron some form of Turmeric mix? (Haldi)? And secondly, in Trini Indian cuisine, is ginger missing? Thanks and I love watching your videos.
Hi, a Trini here.👋 So what we call "Saffron" isn't actually Saffron but Turmeric. We just call it Saffron, ask me why...idk. In Trini/Indian cuisine all together, we always use ginger. It's only omitted if a recipe doesn't require it...say Aloo/Potato which is a potato dish we make as a filling for roti or a "fried/baked dough" we call pie (p.s there are many types of pies we have here in Trinidad and Tobago like, cheese, fish, beef, chicken, etc.) or it's used as a side. Trinbagonian (Trinidad and Tobago) cuisine is so culturally unique, colorful and definitely DELICIOUS!!! Hope this helps.🙂
