𝐇𝐨𝐭 𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐬 are one of the most common and uncomfortable symptoms women experience.⁣

    But...⁣

there are a lot of things that can actually help (for some I've seen it lower the frequency to almost none!) so I thought I'd share a few tips today that go beyond just estrogen - because menopause symptoms and hot flashes are actually due to more than just low estrogen!
    A couple more tips:
    ⁣⁣
𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐭 𝐬𝐦𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠: not only is this important for cancer prevention purposes BUT research shows women who quit smoking were 𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦𝘭𝘺 to suffer from hot flashes, have severe hot flashes and have frequent hot flashes than women who continued to smoke.
    ⁣⁣
𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞: regular moderate exercise (both aerobic and resistance exercise) can help decrease hot flashes.

    𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 - 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞.⁣

Hope this helps and empowers you,
    Dr. Becky ND

I get that for sure - I find what weight loss programs often promote also just hurt more long run (ie only eat salads, limit calories a ton, etc) and just exercise tons - it doesn’t take into account things like sugar regulation, stress, sleep etc impacts on metabolism or other underlying reasons.

I commented about taking Gabapentin which really works for me! However, you (Dr. Becky) never mentioned that you agreed or disagreed with it. Then I thought that you are a natural path doc, right? So you wouldn't recommend taking Big Pharma meds, correct?

Hi there! Sorry didn’t see that comment! I’m in the belief that we can use medication when needed (lowest dose for the lowest time possible) but that there are also many other natural strategies that can be combined or take the place of medications especially due to side effects of meds etc. hope that makes sense :)

@@drbeckynd Thanks Dr. Becky. I hate taking meds but they seem to work for me. I try to lead a somewhat healthy lifestyle, don't drink, smoke, nor recreational drugs! I eat plants as much as I can, along with proteins. However, I am diabetic and love my sugar!! Some downfalls for sure. So taking the meds is sometimes just easier as that is what my oncologists and doctors do, prescribe, prescribe, prescribe!
