Great reporting by Wion, but you've made some mistakes. Weyba Tis originated in Oromia. It's an Oromo culture, but through time Amharas and other ethic groups adopted it as their own tradition, and there's nothing wrong with that.
It started in Raya Wello (Amhara region of Ethiopia) and spread through out the country. My great grandmother used to do it with her siblings and friends.
