Thanks David for such enlightening words. Indeed lots of self-reflection for the past and ponder for the future and how it going to take us from now. Keep it up !
...wonderful sharing of your motivations in life, and what you learned on the camino... very similar for me... I walked it twice, and I'm still with it so often, as it was one of the best things I've done... I think overall the most powerful aspect of it is that it pushed me inevitably towards being in the present, and when I was not, I felt the call more and more... past and future eventually surrender, as they are not helpful, when you are on the way... xx
Thanks for sharing...you made me think back to the Camino and the lessons of being present. It's not easy once you get back to society...and it's good to have these reminders. I'm thinking back to the Camino now and how peaceful and happy I was...it was because I was extremely present. Good reminder!
Thanks David. I guess I should have paid more attention to Abraham Maslow's hierarchy when I was at college. The one thing that Covid has shown me is that most of my needs are actually wants. For example I've managed to survive three or four whole days without going out for a coffee! Imagine THAT on the Camino! So, I guess my biggest lesson is: as long as we are all safe and healthy is good enough for me at the moment. Keep posting the videos. Des
Thanks Des. Haha coffee...I don't remember the last time I went without coffee for that long! Yes, stay safe Des and talk soon. Thanks for your words of encouragement, I will continue keeping busy!
Hello David, greetings from Singapore. I did the Camino Frances in Sep this year (Sarria-Santiago de Compostela). What u shared about "What I learn" resonated with me. Thank you for sharing your experience.
I also did the camino in 2019. This pandemic hit me hard tough mentaly. I spent so much time alone walking and it was great. As I came back I wanted to start a new chapter go out and play music. But yeah, ended up stuck at home. But if anything, I learned on my camino to accept things that I cant change. There is no point to waste your energy on something you dont control. I can only control my reaction to it. It is still though and its still gonna be a long and hard winter but yeah, keeping my head up. Buen Camino
Hey Andric - oh wow yeah I can definitely relate. And you are so right, we can only focus on what we can control. I find that reaching out to my family and friends back home (far away) has been helpful...lucky we. have digital technology now. It's tough, but we will get through this together. And then hopefully we can be out on the road again. Stay safe and well. Buen camino - David
@@hi.davidwen I am always hiking but Covid wiped out my 2020 AT thru hike. Shifted gears and bought a RV to tour North America, thinking about doing videos of many planned day hikes on that adventure. Looking forward to your future adventures.
Hey man! Love your video & vibes! I agree with everything you said! Hang in there💪🏽 I think I mentioned in one of your previous videos- I’m doing the Camino this summer- hopefully Covid will be close to over then🤞 If you’re ever in Catalonia, hit me up and I’ll buy you a 🍺! Amsterdam looks incredible man!
Hi David, I really like the way you put your video together. Im on the camino at the moment (well taking a break and restarting soon), you might like to look at my vlog and revisit the Camino. I’d also love to hear what you think. Lisa
David Wen Nice to meet you. David, do you look Asian from the way you look? I'm curious because you look like Korean a lot. I'm Korean...It's similar. Covid19, watch out. You're doing fine.
friends are a wonderful present , but may , or may not happen - you can't count on anything but God , and even then it may not be an easy ride ! think of some of the struggles of the greatest saints ! and you can't rely on yourself , because all our lives are precariously balanced ! best to find pleasure , and thought in the moment that you're presented with , while carefully working toward your goals , but enjoying the moment , and always hope ! and never despair , but should you get down , don't betray yourself , by beating yourself up ( the world is too happy to do that for you ) , if you have a right to sing the blues , then sing them , and rest , and eventually do what you can to make things better ! " you can move a mountain with a teaspoon " Saint Pope John XXlll , who in four quick years changed the world for the better , and he was overweight , elderly and sick throughout his papacy !
it's been 3 years and it feels like just a couple months ago that the pandemic hit tbh I've completely lost my investment into the little moments of the day because I was deprived of them for so long
Thanks for sharing. I can also relate. And I think by you recognizing this...perhaps it can be a reminder for all of us to pay attention to the small moments? For example, I'm very grateful that you just commented and feel a bit more connected. Appreciate you

Thank you for doing this David. It's important for people to look at some of the simple things in life.
May God Bless You!!!
Thank you Ken, I appreciate it. I am starting to learn how to really appreciate the simple things in life.

@@DalesOutdoorAdventures Wow sounds amazing. Also looking forward to your adventures as well. Take care Dale!
Have you been to 's-Hertogenbosch? It's a smaller town that's also nice to visit :) It's easily accessible with the train :)
Yes Den Bosch! I have, I'd love to go back!
two great things about being alone is having the time to actually think - and maybe do those things which so often have to be put off !
Thank you for your words...yeah being alone can be challenging but amazing at the same time. Time to slow time, reflect, and reassess your life. =)
