    I heard there is a second INTERNAL water pump with the 3.7 V6 models... Thats like $1600 for labor because its tied to the timing chain! There was a class action against FORD for it.

    Im boosted 3.0 gen 5 stage II whipple any suggestions on upgrading the water pump? TIA great video

      Not really much you can do to upgrade. I’d say just check the pulley bearings occasionally for wear. I think what destroyed my water pump was when I had an 18 mani and spinning it up to 8k.

    You mentioned its a Murray water pump from Oreilly's, do you have the part # if you still remember?

      Sorry for late reply. CP6741 is the Murray pump part #. Don’t cheap out and buy a generic brand water pump.

    Any special steps to bleed air out after refilling the coolant?

      I didn’t do anything special to get rid of trapped air. Once I had it all back together and started I just kept refilling the reservoir until it stopped drinking it. Never overheated afterwards.

    Do You got the torque specs , water pump and thermostat bolts?

      I didn’t torque anything. Just apply even tightening pressure and it will be fine. All of the parts are aluminum so do not over tighten either.

    Quick question so mines you don’t hearing the bearings or nothing but that triangle shaped things moved front and back how do I get it to not move or is it normal?

      That's not normal you should change it out

    What signs did you notice that your water pump was going bad? My 2017 gt just started to overheat and spilled coolant all over the place. It also cause the serpentine belt to slip out.

      I was getting the car dynoed and happened to notice coolant dripping from somewhere in front of the engine. Eventually I started to lose coolant fast after driving only 20 miles or so and my reservoir would be empty. As you can see in the video the bearing is almost completely destroyed so I can imagine that if it is bad enough the pulley will wobble and cause the belt to slip. In your case I would bet that the water pump isn’t spinning at all and the bearing for the pulley is destroyed and caused it to slip.
