      Are they endangered? They’re very common around my area. I usually find thirty to forty every year.

    Thank you for sharing this. My little brothers found one that had just laid her eggs in our flowerbed. Luckily they found it before my chickens did. The moth was very weak so idk if she lived or not but my little brothers are now hoping to hatch the eggs and raise them in a container they made.

      Luna moths only live around a week and they have no mouth or digestive system once they lay their eggs they pass on they only live to mate and die

    Im so excited to learn. Im moving to the eastern us soon, and will be in hundreds of acres of woodlands to catch and rear giant silk moths. I hope for regal, cecropias, lunas, and polyphemus. Is there much of a difference youve found in raising them?
    Keep up the good content god knows i will need it to raise them

    Hey new subscriber here 👋🏾 I found a Luna moth yesterday sitting on a tree yesterday, and it appeared to have hatched recently. I decided to bring it to my house to observe it for about to day before releasing it because I had never seen one of these beauties in real life. Earlier she started laying quite a bit of eggs. I’d like to raise a few up until adulthood. Can you give me a few tips?

    Hey! I just found some moth eggs on the wall. How do I take care of it? Should I transfer it somewhere? If yes how?

    hi !! i need some advice if you dont mind. a week or two ago i noticed a moth outside my apartment door that hadnt moved for a few days and i brought it in. i put it in a mesh laundry hamper and it laid eggs! i released the momma moth and put the eggs in a container with a paper towel that i misted occasionally. now those eggs have hatched and i have probably 50 baby caterpillars that i do not know how to take care of. Can u help? they are now in a container with some leaves and if it helps they are Northern Pink Striped Oakworm Moths based on how the mother looked.

    I know this is an older video but I can't find an answer anywhere. I had a luna emerge from its cocoon a couple of days ago. I went to handle it and it secreted a whitish liquid while I held it and in the enclosure. I'm just curious as to what it is. He is still alive and doing fine, so I assume its not something serious.

    • @DrawinskyMoon

      I used to raise black swallowtails and whenever they emerged from their cocoons they would secrete a red liquid from their anus. After so many times this happened I just assumed it’s their way of relieving extra fluid that developed during changing.

    do you sell their caterpillars anywhere because i want one too :c

      Try searching in deciduous forests with lots of trees such as hickory, sweetgum, and walnut. Depending on where you live, around this time of year eggs and caterpillars can be spotted on the trees listed above.

      Put them in a sealed container so they don't dry out until they hatch

    They are beautiful but I've heard the lifespan is only about a week. It didn't say anything about lifespan in captivity.

    • @eastcoastfiretrucks1837
      @eastcoastfiretrucks1837 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Longest is about ten days. Mostly due to the fact that these beautiful creatures are unable to eat I’d imagine.

    • @Model_BT-7274
      @Model_BT-7274 ปีที่แล้ว

      Their lifespan is pretty long as a whole. They just have short lives as moths
