No project of this scale is possible without a team, so glad you and Bridget are aligned and working together to get Antidote over the finish line. Imagine all the PNW sunsets you’ll be enjoying on your beautiful sailboat very soon. Love the content, the cold is nearly behind us and better days are ahead. 👍👍
I really enjoy seeing your progress John. You cut no corners and are certain to have stout repairs when you are finished. Thanks for keeping us entertained. Bridget, thank you for taking care of the editing. You have some mad skills and the finished video is nothing short of excellent. I can't wait for the next one! Cheers,
Hi, I’m impressed with your consistent use of PPE while cutting, sanding and epoxy play! Also your well thought out activity steps and your instructive comments on just about everything is great.
Hi. Thanks for the feedback! When I was younger I did some stupid things without PPE. I look back at those days and shake my head… I’m glad that you enjoy the videos. Cheers! 🙏👍🙌
Thanks! Yeah, we have a few “behind the scenes” issues that we’re working through but we will be doing our best to keep the videos rolling out too. Cheers. 👍🙌🙏
If you’re going to paint, I’d suggest white paint for bilges and compartments. I know that gray is usually used to hide the dirt, but it makes it even harder to see in an already dark place. If you use a white paint that has lots of pigment, it won’t yellow.
I have found wire wheels that fit on angle grinders do a far better job than drill mounted abrasive wheels.....but go easy they are a bit of an animal 😂 keep up the great videos, everything is coming along nicely
I tend to agree with you. I don’t love that most angle grinders only have one speed… Really Really Fast. And so they tend to make a huge mess. This was also the only tool that I could get all the way in to that recess behind the old tabbing. Thanks for watching and offering your feedback. It’s appreciated. 🙏🙌👍
I share your love of packing tapes myriad of uses….. are you familiar with “the quiet tape gun?” It’s a real product and is so vastly superior in operation and volume to any other I’ve ever used. Super simple and inexpensive 🤙
John, thanks for the time you put into rebuilding Antidote and sharing with youtube! Is the weight ratio for mixing resin and mat 1:1 or something else? Bridget it wouldn't be possible with out your help too... filming and editing takes a lot of time and your just as much appreciated as John is! Thank you both for sharing.
Hi and thanks for the feedback. I found that it took just under 3 fluid oz. to wet out 1 square foot of 1708. This aligned with results that Andy from Boatworks Today had demonstrated. That much dry glass weighs right around 3 ounces so yes, it’s roughly 1:1 but in different units of measure. It’s definitely a good starting point as it’s difficult to estimate the square footage of the glass sheets that are often in strange shapes. Your feedback is appreciated. Thanks for watching. 🙏🙌👍
@livingforsail That's the reason I put off buying the 33 ft Westsail too, Jon .. Our house needed some upgrades as well, but in the not to distant future, she will be mine
I have gone through 6 gallons of West 105 so far on the project and I don’t think I could tell them apart once they’re out of the can… tech numbers and times are all really close. This first test went well with no surprises.
Ok this has been a lot of work and it taken a very long time. It’s an anchor locker and it should be a very good one. But looking forward to moving on. If it was me And I got to spend time talking to Jim about a boat I was working on I don’t think it would be about an anchor locker. But that’s just me.
I don’t like your belt sander! The reason I know is that I have the same one. Because I don’t like it, it gets abused, and the damn thing still works! Lol
Haha!! I don’t really care for it either to be honest. It was the one I could easily afford more than 10 years ago and it just keeps going… I’d like something better but can’t justify it… 🤷♂️
HUGE HUGE Thanks to my wife Bridget for helping with the edit on the video this week! Let her know what you think!!!
We need to see her in some videos😊
Can't keep a good man or woman down😂
Nice work, great episode.
You are both blessed with overflowing cups of talent. Bridget must be a legal engineer!
@@bdphourde Thank you. That's appreciated.

I’m a fan of them 👍.
Glad you’re finally back. Great content. Appreciate you Bridget !
Thanks for watching. We won’t keep you waiting like that next time 😉. Cheers. 🙌👍
Glad to see you’re back at making videos. I watch a lot of these channels and between you and Magic Carpet I feel confident I could rehab a yacht. 😂
Haha. Right on. Well this is very much a “learn as you go” endeavor. I appreciate you following along. Cheers! 🙏👍🙌

Yep. The plan is to paint with Bikgekote in white. I’m looking forward to trying it out. Thanks for the constructive tips as always!! 🙌👍

🙌🙌👍👍🙏
Great work. Antrim is a master. Larry Tuttle's go-to guy for special projects.
It was really great to get his opinions. He also spoke with me about core materials when we made that video earlier. 🙌👍

Haha. Yeah, we had some issues with the house but we will manage. Thanks for staying with us Andrew. Cheers!

Any difference of quality between west system and hawk epoxy

why wouldn't you just use 59/128" rather than 11.7mm hmmm
Hahaha!!! 😂
“There has to be a harder way!”
