I have enjoyed this style of fishing since I was a young boy. I can still remember catching my first fish (small trout). The joys of meeting nature close up.
I think fishing as a child is an important experience to become familiar with nature. You had a wonderful childhood. Please continue to cherish the time you spend in nature.
The small fish I catch are baby blue gills, bass, carp and channel catfish. I always return them to their home. I do both micro-fishing and standard fresh water fishing depending how they are biting. Love it. Thank you for bring micro-fishing to our attentions.
There are many other fishing methods besides micro fishing. I also agree with enjoying various fishing methods. I hope you continue to enjoy many fishing trips.
Thank you very much. The concept of my channel is very simple. When fishing, don't compete, don't rush, just be quiet. I want to share this peaceful time with many people.
Thank you. I feel a story in the time I spend fishing. The seasons, the scenery, the sound of the wind, the birds and insects. I would be happy if you could feel that kind of Japanese time.

@@TAKA_ojfc In Indonesia, micro fishing / Tanago activity is called Waderan. Micro fish are also diverse such as Rasbora argyrotaenia, Puntius binitatus, Nemacheilus fasciatus and others. I also really like doing Micro Fishing activities aka Tanago Fishing aka Waderan. Thank you.
@@MancingTanago This is the first time I've heard the word "Waderan." Thank you for letting me know. I think it's wonderful to be able to gain so much knowledge from people all over the world. Please continue to teach me about Indonesia.
Ichthyology nerd here, the "tanago" fish are called bitterling in english theyres around 40 species all native to asia with the european bitterling (rhodeus amarus) also beeing found in europe they where set out theyre a long time ago by humans originating from asia which is ironic given the name.
I respect your extensive knowledge of fish. I only recently learned that tanago fish are called "betterlings." Please forgive my poor English. As you say, it is unfortunate that ecosystems are being lost all over the world by humans. The number of native species of tanago fish in Japan has also decreased, and most of the tanago fish currently being fished are native to mainland China and its neighboring countries. It is truly unfortunate.
@@TAKA_ojfc it really is, but by making videos of them and showing people how cool they are you are an active part of conservation. I also speak very bad english myself i just wanted to add this.
Awesome! That's new info for me. Imagine that in our country (central europe) the european bitterling is considered a protected native species, even protected by fine. In what historic era do you think the introduction of the species to europe happen?
Of course I will teach you. In Japan, there is a bait for micro fishing. I use a bait called "Tanago Gluten". Some anglers make bait by mixing flour with egg yolk. I couldn't understand the second question very well with my English skills. If I understand correctly, setting the hook is when you make the rig. Not after you arrive at the fishing spot.
@@TAKA_ojfc Thank you very much! In my second question I meant : When the fish bites the hook , when do you pull the rod and how long do you wait to pull the rod?
@@ExtremeCanDyland I see, I understand your question. You raise the rod the moment the fish bites the hook, but the timing depends very much on the balance between the size of the bait and the size of the fish. Ideally, you should attach bait that is small enough for the fish to eat in one bite, and raise the rod at the first bite. However, if the bait is too big, the hook won't fit into the fish's mouth and it won't hook on the first bite. Therefore, if the bait is too big, you can make it smaller by putting it in the water and pulling it up. That's why I sometimes make the motion of raising the rod. If my answer is insufficient, please ask again.
I think so. Each person has a different way of enjoying fishing. One of the ways to enjoy it is to catch big fish and lots of fish. However, in addition to the result of catching fish, there is also a way to enjoy the season, the atmosphere, and sometimes catching small fish. I love this little fishing spot that is full of memories with my grandfather and father.

I'm not sure because the hook size notation is different from Japan, but if you're catching a stickleback, it must be quite small. Japanese sticklebacks are about 5cm long. Amazing!
The hooks are a teeny tiny fly hook used to tie midges with and yo need a tiny wee piece of Weiner for bait, lol yes they are small but I was interested in the challange
@@rogerfranz1152 I see, it's a fly hook. I looked up the size online. It's definitely a very small hook. The tip of a hook for tanago fishing is approximately one-fourth of the size of this No. 22 hook. If you have a chance, try smaller fishing.
