I think we all have our equal struggles in life and find our own unique ways to get our words out. Some in this case are in such unique ways. I think one of the reasons why I thought of Charles as such a interesting person was his way of expressing stuff in a musical basis. I think that's such a cool way. I am a severe introvert and was diagnosed with social anxiety so it was a bit of a challenge for me to grow up as a person too. On all ways I can find ways to relate to his words, maybe not all but most. He had definitely been a big inspiration and influence on me through out the years. I could never find the words to thank him enough for that. You are beautiful and wonderful Charlie and we all hear you out. Life is such a pain! Keep striving to be you and that's all we want. Don't be someone you are not, you are perfect just the way you are!

If someone want you to be somthing you dont want to be, then fuck them! Why should you care what someone wants of you? The pressure will be there, but you cant do it. This probably dosent mean much from a strange on the internet, but you can get through it.
From the livestreams of his I usually attend, I've always wondered how he made a tune so fast. And he makes them so well, that's why even though he's referred to as 'Cringe' a lot of the time, I like to stick around and listen. He's got an amazing talent, and I highly respect him for that. The way he talks doesn't bother me. He talks through his music, and it's so unique.
As an aspiring music writer whether for youtube or myself, this is so inspirational. It really shows how hard work from any background, no matter the struggle, pays off.
This was great to watch. Charlie is such an awesome musician and he is such a boss for overcoming his problems and using music to kind of escape and help him communicate through it. Bottom line, Charlie’s awesome.
I can kind of relate to this on a certain level. I have social anxiety and struggle with social cues too. But I also have a speech impediment which makes it hard for me to talk. I have been listening to CG5 since late 2017 and I've never stopped listening to him. I went through a really hard time at the end of 2019 and early 2020 with depression and anxiety. What really helped me through it was listening to music. Songs like Uncrowned, The Legend of Siren Head, the cover to Being Human, ect. have a very big place in my life and make me happy when I listen to them. And I thank CG5 for making the music and doing what he loves because it does inspire a lot of people but it also helps them too.
Thank you so much for taking the time to interview CG5! And thank you to Charlie for being interviewed! This was amazing and completely eye opening to see.

I understand how it feels to be on the autism spectrum, I was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome which causes me to be socially awkward, and have learning and communication difficulties during my time at school. But as I got older I realized that I'm a visual learner, which is what got me to fully express myself through art, music and film; that way it helps me to come out of my shell more. in conclusion, I can really relate to CG5 which is why I'm a fan.
This was amazing to watch. Charlie has inspired me ever since I started watching him. He's the reason why I love creating music in the first place. He's really changed my life, and I wish I could thank him face-to-face. I really hope the best for him. Love you Charlie! ❤
I think it’s incredible that matt sat with charlie for an hour encouraging and helping him explain his issues with communication, it made me smile so much when he high-fived him.
as an officialy diagnosed autistic person, this made me feel very alot of feelings. it makes me realise how many other peoples are like us, not able to "normaly" express ourselves. because im not an adult yet, i still have time to think for myself. its nice to see that im not alone in this situation. and the reaction you had when you finished the interview was almost an emblem of what i feel after saying how my day was to my parents. have a nice day mr.Charlie
I love CG5 could express himself through music. It's hard to find something you're passionate about and can work on, especially when it's hard to focus on it. Good for you CG5!
I know how you feel, because I have autism and social anxiety, so don't stop believing In yourself because you can do anything as long as you put your mind into jt
I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know Charlie last year. He used to be in the same LDS ward as me until this past May. I didn't know who CG5 was until I met him. Really nice and great guy with such amazing talent!! I have autism too so I really empathize with him and his experiences.
I was shocked what CG5 had to go through, but im really proud of how he faces this difficulties through music which my is favorite thing to do, Thanks Matt fo giving him courage to tell people to understand him....
I am so happy you interviewed him. I am autistic and his struggles are completely the same as what i dealt with. I haven't seen a video that depicts my experience mentally so perfectly in years. Only difference is i don't share my random songs with the world. I haven't even written tunes for them. I just find singing to be the best coping mechanism ever, whether my own random singing of random words and thoughts, or someone else's.
i also have autism and struggle with a lot of the disabling things that come with it. as i’ve grown up, things have a gotten a lot worse than they already were because of me not receiving any therapy, not receiving any coping skills that could help me, and gaining trauma from long term emotional abuse. to know that i’m not alone in my struggles means so much to me and i want to thank you for making and posting this interview
I’m really late to this video, but I find it so motivating to see Charlie’s struggles and how he gets through them. As someone with autism, it’s hard to think that I have what it takes to do what I want- like make music, make edits, make art- stuff like that And I know I’m extremely late to this video, but that doesn’t matter lol
This interview was great. I’m autistic and going to music school, and seeing that Charlie has had some of the same communication issues that I have and became this successful is really inspiring and motivating. It’s great to know there are people like me in the industry.
I adore everything about him. That beat towards the end really put stars in my eyes, I love that harmony so much aaaaaaaaaa I mostly listen to him through his music, and by that I don't watch his stream-type videos too much. And I love a large majority of his music (he is my favorite artist, after all, this video was in my recommend) I would have never gathered this from his regular videos at all. Thank you for interviewing him, and sharing his story!
I definitely understand all of these problems, especially cause I've got autism. We all love you Charlie. Keep doing what you di best, which is making music!
This guy is my favorite musician right now. No matter how many times people call him cringe, I’ll listen to his music as much as I want, because it’s so good!
I have the same communication problems. CG5 is a prime example of “anyone can do anything if they put their all into it”. I hope to be as talented as he is one day.
This is a great piece on a great guy. Making music with Charlie is always an amazing experience. Every time I get to see him, not only do I always feel greatly welcomed, but also severely out-gunned in terms of my arsenal of musical knowledge, and I always learn something new when I'm with him. This was a great insight piece.
this video made me Love CG5 SO MUCH MORE!!! thank you for making this its so inspirational to see from his point of view and how he overcame things like anxiety
I feel like music is a lot more easier to understand than just speaking normally. Having musical talent like that is a great way not only to entertain, but to connect with those who listen to your music. Both get the same job but which will you remember on a shoppng trip? A list of what you need to get from a store OR a song about the same list? You know which one you would.
This was such an inspiring and heartwarming interview! It’s beyond me to see this side of someone I admire very much and . . . it’s amazing. I see such talent in both the music artist and the interviewer. I love it! 💫
I always am in awe how people can just make such amazing work or art like how Charlie does. Like people work their whole lives to make music the way he has it naturally. It’s so awesome and I appreciate how he can speak through it so clearly
As someone who has high functioning autism (asperger), this completely caught me off guard. I have a ton of respect for CG5 in how he decided to share this stuff with us. We’ll support you, no matter what.
I like how Charlie overcame his personal problems through his passions. Despite not being diagnosed with any health disorders myself, I express myself in many ways (Art, building with LEGOs, singing my favorite songs) and I believe that that’s what makes CG5 a very strong and confident individual. Grow in your abilities and never back down! 👍✨

i also have autism and struggle with a lot of the disabling things that come with it. as i’ve grown up, things have a gotten a lot worse than they already were because of me not receiving any therapy, not receiving any coping skills that could help me, and gaining trauma from long term emotional abuse. to know that i’m not alone in my struggles means so much to me and i want to thank you for making and posting this interview
I’m really late to this video, but I find it so motivating to see Charlie’s struggles and how he gets through them. As someone with autism, it’s hard to think that I have what it takes to do what I want- like make music, make edits, make art- stuff like that
And I know I’m extremely late to this video, but that doesn’t matter lol
i'm zooming over here to support
Why does this man not have millions of views!? It's so wonderful that he gives a voice to those who don't get the chance to speak up
This interview was great. I’m autistic and going to music school, and seeing that Charlie has had some of the same communication issues that I have and became this successful is really inspiring and motivating. It’s great to know there are people like me in the industry.
I adore everything about him. That beat towards the end really put stars in my eyes, I love that harmony so much aaaaaaaaaa
I mostly listen to him through his music, and by that I don't watch his stream-type videos too much. And I love a large majority of his music (he is my favorite artist, after all, this video was in my recommend) I would have never gathered this from his regular videos at all. Thank you for interviewing him, and sharing his story!
FINALLY CG5 TALKING OPENLY ABOUT HIS AUTISM!!! sorry i got too excited because i have too
Came here from CG5's channel. Well done, both of you!
CG5 you have me in tears!! You have such an incredible story, thank you so much for sharing this!!!
this video made me Love CG5 SO MUCH MORE!!! thank you for making this its so inspirational to see from his point of view and how he overcame things like anxiety
This is like, my favorite/most inspiring video on the internet right now.
Amazing video! One question:
WHAT EDITING APP DO YOU USE?!
Premiere CC :)
simply wonderful!
I love his music! And thanks for this video!
Im from CG5s channel and oh my god, I dont know how to say this. CG5 I respected you from the start but now I'm just amazed 💖💖💖
It's actually a really good video I like it
I'm going to recommend this video to my friend
I’ve absolutely adored CG5 for ages, and this video is another of his that gives me the biggest smile. :))
As someone who has high functioning autism (asperger), this completely caught me off guard. I have a ton of respect for CG5 in how he decided to share this stuff with us. We’ll support you, no matter what.
Aspergers is an outdated term.
@@verycreativename1865 I know, thanks for informing me about that.
“And I’m not just talking about snare sounds”
I like how Charlie overcame his personal problems through his passions. Despite not being diagnosed with any health disorders myself, I express myself in many ways (Art, building with LEGOs, singing my favorite songs) and I believe that that’s what makes CG5 a very strong and confident individual. Grow in your abilities and never back down! 👍✨
This is just so sad yet so wholesome
Man, seeing this gives me so much more confidence about writing music. Thank you CG5, you are one of my biggest idols 💝
